  • It's macca not Mecca.....

  • Congrats macca

  • Does anyone know the tune of the song in the background?

  • @Bitrider1234 the one at the start is pjanoo by eric prydz

  • Just goes to show....red really does make you go faster! lol!

  • they have helped you train at a higher intensity so therefore your body is used to the race demands and your body can then deal with it easily. Age plays a huge factor too. I'm a huge fan of Lance and have been watching him race since the 90's. He will not beat these guys cuz he cannot run and swim with them. I think Lance will finish just outside the top 20.

  • @paul88321 Wasn't lance a triathlete too before going big in cycling? Im not sure if he was successful though

  • @Pokekevin he actually still holds a record for a local triathlon in his home state of Texas as far as I know

  • listen everyones on something whether it be supplements or drugs

and i'll tell u all why

try training at a hight intensity for 365 days a year with just pure food and i can guarantee u u'll be getting sick 4 times per year to the point where ur about to die

Supplements and drugs are designed to help u recover faster, so that u can train at that high intensity more than others. Therefore drugs don't help your body on the day of the race.

  • For the pros, eventually it's all about how much EPO you can take and Lance surely is going to beat them all. He's a pro doper.

  • This guy is a machine

He destroyed the 2 time champion Craig Alexander

Here is a question for all of you: How do you think a world class long distance swimmer such as Grant Hackett or a 7 time tour de france champion Lance Armstrong would do in this race with the proper trainning in the other two disciplines?

  • @paul88321 I agree that he destroyed Craig Alexander, but Macca is not a machine... his performances at Kona have been inconsistent.

  • King Macca of Kona!!!

  • @percdann PERCDANN!!! what's up man. remember when we were talking on that Javier Gomez video earlier this year? Man I was so happy that macca won. When Raelert pulled up next to him I was just freaking out. Those are my two favorite ironman guys! It was such an awesome race.

  • @gza2k7 Hey dude!! Hows things man?? Training hard? Looks like gomez was, back to world number 1!!! Yea man, im with ya i was actually going nuts as i saw the gap closing, my HR musta been like an intervals sessions!!! Raelert was good alright, macca just too clever at the end.....what do you make of faris al-sultan? He hates macca....

  • @percdann yeah i am! man this year was really exciting. I thought frodeno was going to win for sure, and then he catastrophically imploded and gomez ran beautifully. i was really excited and happy. But not as excited or happy as when Raelert pulled up next to Macca. Wow! something i'll never forget. As for Faris, there seems to be some beef there. But he always seems to be close to or inside of the top ten in kona despite having pretty weak years. So i have to give him respect for that.

  • @gza2k7 Gomez is just such a phenomenal runner...hes been a bit inconsistent since 08 but things are defo getting there again....hes really winning lots these days....Frodeno just doesnt seem to have that TINY little bit extra to his pace to get him to more wins...still savage racer though and becomming more consistent too aye? Where you up for raelert? I really enjoyed watching it for sure......faris is a bit of a weird dude but it seems his best is behind him now, still doing ok though i spose

  • @percdann Yeah i was flipping out when Gomez broke Frodeno in hamburg, then again when he broke Brownlee (who really broke hard) in London. those two races were SWEET! Really got me pumped. It really was Frodeno's world championship to lose though, if he finished close to Gomez he would have won! he must have overtrained or maybe he was injured. nobody really explained what happened, but he really went backwards FAST on the run.

  • @gza2k7 Fantastic races werent they man? Yea i actually dont know what happened gomez at all at all....I was actually over in budapest racing the amateurs races would ya believe!!! It was kinda shame for him but gomez i think probably deserved it.....i think petzold or one of the germans was trying to pump him along but when it aint working, what can ya do man!?

  • @percdann Faris definitely seems a little weird, and it's bizarre saying the best days are behind him when he's 32! a lot like Thomas Hellriegal who did too much too early and didn't have the longevity he should have. I really like the Raelerts. Everything I've read or heard about them shows them as nice guys. they truly are class acts. Now that Xterra Maui is over, there's nothing else to watch! Hopefully Micheal Raelert repeats as 70.3 champ.

  • @gza2k7 I thought andy potts was 70.3 champ no? Faris im sure could still win it, but when people go stale over years things tend not to be right, in my opinion he would need to really change things up.... He was definitely a class act alright, and what i liked even more was that he fought for it hard, i kinda felt stadler gives up when it aint going right for him and that was defo not the case with raelert....

  • He's an arrogant bastage, but he sure can race. Well done man. Also amazing to keep this amount of motivation, to 'come back' and win it again. Respect.

  • @KumaCambodia

A well deserved arrogance. I went to Kona's Hon Iron man 2 years ago. It was half long but i can tell you that it was like a hell. You got to be really made of steel to make it, you really got to be.

You know its not the swim, biking or run that is gonna kill you, its the damn wind that is your main enemy in all these stages.

You got to be there to see what i mean.

  • @persiantraveler I'm a finisher myself (12hrs27) Not the one in Hawaii, but mine had 2 hail storms and another massive shower during the bike, that should count for something as well :-)

  • @KumaCambodia If you are friends with him on facebook, he is one of the most gracious, humble, and respectful athletes out there. He gives more of his time to his fans than any of the others. The trash he talked was all in good fun. He is close friends with all he trash talked about. A lot of people mistake his friendly ball busting as arrogance.

  • @texasusa05 I am FB-friends with him and you're right. And as you can see from the rest of my comment, I can appreciate his way.

  • Macca, you are a beast. I did a 16 minute cross-country race, then got home and did a two hour bike ride. I was pooped. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome race! Congrets!

  • Awesome race! Congrats Macca!
