I get the impression that the camera zooms in and out during the uncut shot of the CGI plane crashing because, well, just because it can. I guess it evokes a subconscious association in viewers that this is like "documentary" footage, and so it must really be real. And I'm sure it achieves that goal. But it doesn't make sense when you think of it. Are we to presume that Nicholas Cage has been followed by a news crew for the whole movie and we're seeing their raw footage?

Is it me or is this almost like some Final Destination BS in which Nick was supposed to die in this crash, but survived, and so therefore die in the end.
