I was almost taken away by one of these waves in Cannon Beach. Coming from the Jersey Shore - where the ocean is so calm and dull even the waves are depressed to be there - I never knew of sneaker waves. One of the scariest moments ever. It reminded me of what Scully once said to Mulder - "You have to respect nature, because it has no respect for you."
