I spilled stuff on an older ipod and a minidisc player and used rubbing alcohol to clean them out. I just filled a jar with rubbing alcohol and just threw them in for a couple of minutes and took em out and let them dry for a day or 2 then they worked fine. I tried it with the ipod shuffle and it didn't work so I guess you would have to do it at your own risk. Good Luck
