  • Da warst Du noch natürlich, kleine Fee

  • eeeeeeeeeeeee

  • mara volhosa, esta nos meus favoritos

  • the song sounds so deep, sad and meaningful...wow sometimes i believe tthat the violan IS her voice...like expressing what she feels.

  • Mairead is something else. Her playing grabs your heartstrings and does not let go until the final note fades into silence. She is such a free spirit on stage. She reminds me of a Gypsy with her untamed beauty.

  • holy shit ..... never hear someone playing a fiddle so emotional and shes so cute :)

absolutley different to electronic hardcore music im listening to normally oO

  • Is the violin woman of English Saxon ancestry? Didnt know Celts had hair like that. It's a typical Germanic and Slavic characteristic.

  • @Stordongen probably

  • can someone tell me what is the meaning of 'lagan'?

  • @noinin88 It's a river in Northern Ireland

  • @pagantruckie thank you a lot (:

  • @noinin88 A "Lagan Love" can also be a love that has been forced to leave.

  • ha ha ... i didn't breath either .. made me slile reading comments just after

    wow

    -3

  • i forgot to breathe...............

  • Ela encanta os olhos e a alma, dá pra ficar assistindo o dia todo, lindo.

  • thumbs up if u play the violin and love it as much as she seems to

  • ... Some of the times, this video and the audio are off :/ It makes it look like she's completely faking it! Anyone notice how sometimes her fingers are a tiny bit too late, and how her hand is off with the vibrato?

It's seriously bugging me! She's no fraud!!!! D<

Her music is fantastic instead XP Including this!

  • @Digipup4life

you are not very bright ja?

    mj

  • @johnsonm007

You should talk. I don't see you saying anything particularly smart either.

  • @Digipup4life Yes, she is certainly for real. The sync problems are just a characteristic of the flash player youtube uses. Some people have downloaded newer HD videos, but they get pulled because the record company apparently doesn't want DVD quality videos being watched for free.

  • It is interessting to see the way she holds the bow,...

  • this makes me feel quiet sad, and makes me feel like im on a big journey and its really cold and wet.

  • This girl, Meav, and Loreena need to get together. Whoever is reading my eulogy over *background* music depends on it.

  • Beautifull !

  • Jean Redpath sings a beautiful version of My Lagan Love, accompanied by her husband on cello.

  • What does Lagan mean?

  • @MsZASRAN

The River Lagan goes thru Belfast.

  • Suona in playback, notare il suo "vibrato" a 1:40

  • She looks like a beautiful elf!! Adorable! :)

  • does 'lagan' mean anything?

  • @dangodaikazoku1 "My Lagan Love" speaks erotically and poetically about a beloved woman which is also a beloved homeland. "Lagan" means something one throws away in hopes that it will return. - Wikipedia

  • @IntoTheMystical Lagan in this case means the river Lagan which runs through Belfast, Co. Down in N.Ireland

  • @Flamorgan :Last i looked Belfast was in Co Antrim.I must be sitting in somebody elses house!:)

  • @billyhunchback You are half correct as am I , Belfast is in both Down and Antrim, so we are both correct or just half correct., truth is its in both counties.

  • @Flamorgan No it doesn't...it's a song from County Donegal...a lagan love was someone who had to leave the country!

  • @Sportymike I stand corrected, and very intresting it is too.

  • beautifull angels they are !!!!!

  • that was beautiful, she made the violin sound like it was singing the song, if you know what I mean : )

  • @honeyflowerchild I do! Sometimes when Mairead plays, I think I can hear the words to these beautiful songs.

  • Super Song, aber find ich von Runrig besser...trotzdem thumbs up

  • beautiful, can´t find another word

  • this music takes me away, i love it!

  • i just saw them in concert theyre better in person

  • music is a gateway to heaven!

  • @thrainful I guess that explains why Mairead is so "Heavenly"!

  • that is the song in the moive when mick collins was shot dead

  • I love my tabby cat!

  • Had my doubts about how i'd feel about this version after getting used to Lynn Hilary's but both are spectacular. And you can sing along nicely to this if u dare lol

  • Mairead, the tone variety you achieve is so expressive it is truly emotional. Amazing how it tells a story without a word. I suppose we have a connection with our creator even beyond words this way. What a gift !

  • The Corrs also did an amazing version of this (though pretty much everything that group does is amazing).

  • Look up Lynn Hilary singing this. She's a new member of the group with a stunning voice.

  • this is a beautiful version, but with Lynn's voice it's seems heavenly, just perfect!!!

  • @soccergladiator5 I love the new version! So hauntingly beautiful. Perfect for Lynn's voice :)

  • @soccergladiator5 But she sadly left :(

  • @bigsis314 yea..... i really liked her..... :'(

  • @soccergladiator5 wow yeah shes amazing!

  • her hair is like a barbie doll's hair. Her music is like a mermaid's voice

  • @ejtin911200 How would you know what a mermaid sounds like?

  • love this song! i've first heard this song from charlotte church...i can't believe celtic woman also sang this song...trully magnificent!

  • Comment removed

  • From which concert is that...I saw a christmas celebration and a new journey and the new Songs from the heart... What is the name of the concert

  • @branjobu96 This concert was teh first one they did, and is just called Celtic Woman, it was done in 2004. A New Journey was their second big concert done in 2006.

  • i play violin and my instructor is getting me this sheet music and i am so excited to learn it :)

  • My maternal ancestors emigrated from Ireland to Brazil in ano1826.

In thought I see myself riding to the sound of the instrument to hear these wonderful songs on the shores of Connemara

  • Her violin playing is beautiful...and so is her hair! :)

  • Comment removed

  • I'll second that! Her playing is so lovely! Makes ya' wanna get aboard a ship and sail to Ireland.

And Don't even get me started on her hair! =D

  • @ClassyIsTheNewCool

    Like an angel

  • wow that was beautiful..!

  • I think these women are amazing. They are almost Hypnotizing

  • she brings me to tears and weakens my knees...

  • God, you should hear her play "In the Bleak Midwinter."

  • Yes the dresses were very nice at the Helix show, they seemed to fit better than in later shows.

  • I love all the dresses in this set!

  • awesome!! i would love to have the notes for the violin !!!

  • you can find her sheet music, most of the songs she plays are old celtic songs, they won't be the same version but close, (i also play violin and i know what you mean, by wanting her sheet music)

  • Celtic Woman has a songbook available on their website. It should have Mairead and David Downes' arrangements to these songs.

  • Yes, you can buy the sheet music on the celtic woman official website.

  • @choralreif and they also have 3 song books

  • What!! any one know bout this song and the sheet music?

  • I would love to hear how she speaks! ^^ I bet it would be a lovely accent!

  • She does have a lovely accent. Keep looking on Youtube, she has several interviews.

My favorite is: R & D TV Interview: Celtic Woman Mairead Nesbitt

  • You are right!! Haha...I love her laugh..she is exquisite! Just adorable..

  • That's just a bit dumb malwida not to mention impossible. Violins can't be lipsynced in a live settting like this.

People have been dancing and playing fiddles/violins for centuries.

  • Malwida you cant use You Tubes flash player like a DVD. The sound and video is always so far out of sync it's useless for judgements like that.

You need to check Mairead's bio at wikipedia, she doesnt need to use playback.

  • Does anyone know where I can get the sheet music for Contridiction and Reel - both performed by the Celtic Woman?

It's not in the Celtic Woman song book.

And if anybody knows the composer of these pieces, that'd be great, too.

    Thanks!

  • Nancy have you tried Google? About any sheet music you want is on Google. The song called Reels is really called "The Pacific Slope".

  • She is THE most WONDERFUL FIDDLE PLAYER I HAVE EVER HEARD!!!!

  • belisimo il violinooooooooooooo............wow.gli altri strumenti sembrano stupidi........il violino è seper

  • Linda e talentosas, espero voces aqui no Brasil para lhes dar um abraço e poder ver ao vivo oque Deus fez de melhor.

  • This is just gorgeous. I love her fiddle playing, she is just so astonishing. I hope I get to meet her when I see their show in Seattle on the 15th.

  • they are comming on the 15th? how much are tickets? do you know if they are sold out yet???

  • This music takes me away, I love it!

  • i like it too and it to touches my heart like alot of music and im a guy!! so u dont have to be gay to feel emotion in music and such.

  • This music touch my heart !

  • Beautiful Lady of my Dreams,

    You take me to places,

    I've never Been,

    Like a temptress Siren,

You call, and Beckon me. with, your sweet,

    alluring song.

Peter Dome. 15/ 4/ 09. Love and Peace to everyone. LOL.

  • This is beautiful <3

  • below is a reply to iiiyooo

  • its so beautiful it makes me cry!!!!

  • I disagree. This woman makes me want to take up violin and never stop playing.

  • Same feeling here :)

  • This woman makes me want to give up violin. Why bother? :) Who knew an instrumental of this song could be so fantastic?

And for the poster below: precisely what it says. Lyrics for the first verse (as I learned them from the Charlotte Church version, anyway):

    Where Lagan stream sings lullaby

    There blows a lily fair

The twilight gleam is in her eye

The night is on her hair

    And like a lovesick lenanshee

She has my heart in thrall

Nor life I owe, nor liberty

For love is lord of all

  • what is "lagan love" mean?

  • The Lagan is the river which flows through Belfast

  • It seems that a song is about to start at the end... O_o

  • Lol... ther's no singer at all!!! Where all you guys heard her???? it's just a music without lirics...

    Learn the difference:

    Singer ---> sing!!!

    Player ---> play!!!

  • Absolutely beautiful

  • They are comin somewhere in MO but I can't afford to go see them

  • come near chicago for crying out loud i need to see mairead and lisa. detroit is not close enough. do it i command you in the name of lucifer to do so. please. please. i will have money and will attend. i love my girls. they are ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    O.o

    Anyhoo... Beautiful fiddlin'.

  • wonderfull..

  • Awesome vid! thanks davidgc for share! Lovely!

    5*****

  • the song is soo sad =[[[

  • Mairead Nesbitt plays on violin: "My Lagan Love." My son has sung this @ WI. Renaissance

    Faire.

  • My only regret is that it ended too soon.

  • Here, sincerest aplogies, I got totally confused there, She Moved Through the Fair is a completely different song, this is definitely My Lagan Love, sorry sorry sorry, I promise I'm not as big a prick as I sounded in that comment

  • For your apology, especially on youtube, I give you five stars >D

  • Reply for HandsEyswings: No, you are not a prick, just got songs mixed up. It's alright! - Penny

  • I always thought this was called 'She Moved Through The Fair'. Fact, it definitely is. Where I come from anyway lol

  • omg! i know this song (under a different name)

  • does anyone know were i can get the sheet music for this song?

  • i have the sheet music for it.. =)

  • is there any possible way that it could be sent to me?;)

  • well, yeah. i have it back home in sweden though and i'll be back there in 1 month or so.. so if you can wait..?

  • I'd love a copy of the sheet music, if you still have it!

  • i' looking for Contradiction. Do you have it, and can you please send me the sheet music or tell me where i can find it. Thanks.

  • this is a lovely rendition of one of the most enchanting irish love songs... but i must say i'm not a celtic women fan - everything is so flashy and contrived.

  • Beautifully played. I love it!

To hear 14 year old Siobhan Owen from Australia sing My Lagan Love, Siuil a Run, and others, go to youtube/sharbas. She has a beautiful voice!

  • A divine performance. She enchants the listener. . makes mist of time if materialir through music, wonderful

  • graet song

  • To hear this song rendered by an Irish woman from Derry go to maureenderry on YT and you will listen to the most perfect singing of this song and also listen to Maureen sing `She moved thru` the Fair`, perfection.

  • Zihuacrab If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all you know they have fellings too.

  • to all the perfectionists oot there..it sounded great to me...and maybey in ways perfectionists dont understand...em..did one of you mention feeling/ emotion...givs a break guys

  • Beautiful. However I will not learn to play it. I am clumsy. But I love to listen other people play.

  • You don't need sheet music to work this one out. Its fairly straight forward and repetitive. Start on the open A and go from there.

    its beautifull isn't it.

  • Listen to the song over and over-divide it into sections-she makes it easy by putting in pauses between musical phrases. Then figure out the notes. It may take you 2 or 3 months, especially if you are new to figuring things out by ear but it can be done. I did it and I continue to do so all over youtube. It's fun^^

  • I wanto learn to play this. Wonder where I can get the sheet music?

  • i love the way she plays it!! she feels the music!

  • This gal is incredibly hot, particularly for an Irish person. Uh, I hope the Irish won't beat me with baseball bats for this nationalistic comment, but it's true -- she's super hot for an Irish chick. She even has all her own teeth!

  • That is HOT with a capital H!!!

  • What do you mean - 'hot for an irish person'? Have you never seen Riverdance?

  • What the hell do you me hot for an Irish person? I bet every fan of Cillian Murphy wants to hurt you.

  • umm I second that - Cillian Murphy is amazing!! And I also don't understand "Hot" for an Irish person - I went to Ireland about a year ago and there are plenty of attractive people there, trust me

  • i wonder if she EVER makes mistakes when she performs. It always sounds perfect! :D She's soooo good!

  • ill betcha she doesnt make mistakes :D

  • Kate Bush sings it as well, that's how I've heard it first :).

  • No one can sing this song like Sinead O'Connor. This song is one of her crowning glories.

  • Uhmm...no she/he means sing. There are words to the song. They just chose to have Mairead play it.

  • Yes, Sinead made the best version!

  • charlotte church sing the ''my lagan love''....and its awesome.

  • I think Karen Briggs can beat Mairead Nesbitt
