prometheus trailer, all looks pretty cool edited together, also ive managed to edit together the airlock scenes, it goes-after ripley reasures lambert in that room with parker,its only the three of them left now, then parker creeping through the corridors from room to room, then calling ripley and lambert on the coms in the bridge and says its by the airlock etc, alien is alarmed by the door closing and then ripley leaves and ends up in the computer room asking the
little bits supposed to be bret looking around for the baby alien after the bit where he drops the catching net with parker and ripley, you know the bit where bret says "its just a cat" and parkers laugh is like "pum pum peh" oh and i even added at the begining a little video i found of the alien ship aproaching the planet, a glimpse of the lower decks where the eggs are and then it crash lands and then theres even a 1 or 2 second clip of the alien ship from the new

ok so ive seen this workprint and yes it very good, good extras, good use of musical score in all the right places, but i think i respectfully agree with cyberlarry7 in that there is as he says extra footage in the documentaries to use, also there is in other little bits around the web i found, ive intergrated a lot of extra stuff into it and even ad libbed a little extra scene of my own cobbling together with some of the original film footage, (Ripley says she going to go
Why is the crab walk in the directors cut so often referred to as "infamous"? I thought it was something refreshingly different and unpredictable. Is there something I'm missing?
To me, the theatrical release was the masterpiece, and a lot of these scenes would have subtracted from the suspense that was built up throughout the movie. By keeping the alien almost entirely hidden until the end of the film, viewers were kept in a sense of blind terror. I still laugh out loud whenever I see the infamous crab walk scene.
But, this version of Alien was very interesting. The air of mystique behind lost footage is always very exciting for fans. Thanks for posting. ^_^
hey, glad you shared this new version, I liked it more... Alien is my favorite movie I want to know where I can find this version on DVD... please confirm also that this movie originally was to run for about 4 hours... if you know a very extended version for the sequels like this, let me know....
I LOVE what you did in making the movie longer. HOWEVER, I noticed that in the Alien Documentaries--there was extra footage, particularly of the monster - that was not cut into your Workprint. This footage would have fit in perfectly! Sooooo - I am going to take your Workprint & edit in the extra shots - which will make the sequences with the creature even better. Please know I'm not putting down your Workprint, but man- there is STILL some AMAZING scenes of the monster you should have cut in.
Hi, The best thing would be to rent/buy the latest DVD of Alien, making sure it has the most "making of" documentaries. You would find all the extra footage there - in interviews with Scott, the actors, HR Geiger, etc. There's more of the Alien killing Harry Dean Stanton & pulling him up into the air, etc. It's very interesting stuff!
