  • esto es musica

de quien quemo su paracaidas de vida en tratar de alcanzar un sol de uruguay

  • I had like goosebumps for 2 hours after watching big fish, the first time I watched the full credits

  • @Moshgfx My grandfather is basically that man in that movie, he never took anything, even death seriously - or so it seemed, but deep down you knew he was trying to hide what he felt. It was a wall that we all looked at and knew was there, never said anything but we knew what was beyond that wall. <3 First time I watched that movie I cried due to how close of a person he was to the "Man of the Hour" in Big Fish - one of my favorite movies.

  • This song will play at my funeral!

  • @apioguih32 i also thought about it. LOL

  • it's really nice to have someone to look up to

  • @avellek

    You're hilarious.

    jk die in a fire.

  • @jessebannon123 Actually sitting here laughing out loud at this.

My flatmates probably think I'm crazy, but hey

  • @kingnatedogg1 Can we get this comment removed please uploader?

  • @kingnatedogg1 fuck you stupid nazi!! die in the fire of hell!! watch inglourious basterds!!!

  • Something about this... The movie, Big Fish, and this song, Both very strongly remind me of my grandfather who passed away last year.

  • The men of the hour have always diligently been keeping the rest of us clamoring for more. The mark of all great artists,we're lucky that they're still alive to tell the tales and circulate their gift.Honored to still have them as a musical and lyrical compass.

  • hentai man

  • Just simply amazing...

  • this song, is it about jesus? just wonderin.

  • @MrJ314 Its about recollecting a fathers memories and stories as a reflection toward his life before he dies. Giving a "final bow" before crossing over, and returning to meet his son when his time comes ("Goodbye for now").

  • @MrJ314 It could also be interpreted as maybe a sign of using faith as a guide in the past and then losing it. But hey, thats just my spin to it.

  • @MrJ314 it could be, but I'm almost positive that it's about our earthly fathers

  • Seattle grunge. can't beat it.

  • i just lost my big sis "girl" love you .

  • best voice in the history of vocalists

  • Sad to say I only listened to this after my dad died, one of his most fav songs.... :)

  • This song is so damn good

  • Love this song so much.. my best friend died in Afghanistan in August and it always reminds me of him. Miss you pal <3

  • shit, this one hurts a little I gotta be honest.

  • 6 people missed the hour.

  • this was my fathers funeral song.

  • @darksatorare It was my uncle's.

  • @darksatorare Wish I´d listened when my father died, but it´s the only song (and movie) that touchs me so deep when I remember him :)

  • I cry every time....

  • i'm crying..every time...this is music....

  • I seen eddie vedder live at massy hall a few years back and before playing this song he was discussing his friendship with one of the ramones and how it was written just after his death. by the end of the song eddie was in tears, what a great show my favorite live perfomance i have had the pleasure experiencing. Eddie and the band play with such passion and emotion. Im my opinon the greatest band in the last 20 years !

  • @19wayfarer19 I am so sorry. Your story made me tear up! I would give anything to tell my grandfather how much I appreciated him.

  • what a song.goodbye for now.that sums it all up in 3 words.......

  • My Dad wants this song to be played at his funeral, and after watching the movie Bigfish some years ago and heard this song it really moved me.

  • @MSQUARETYLERJ sorry for your loss... we played this song at my grandpas funeral this summer too, best way to describe him, since after all, he was always the man of the hour... :-)

  • BIG FISH :'D

  • my grandad passed away a while ago, this song sepaks to me just for that reason. i play this on guitar and i alwasy feel him right there sitting beside me, like a hand on my shoulder.. I didnt see him before he died, never got to tell him how grateful i was for his being there for me, never got to thank him for his influence in my life..the last thing he said to me was, comin' down next sunday? I said for sure as long as you come to pick me up..ill be waiting until sunday for the rest of my life

    Kinda sad Actually .. : (

    I Love this song

    x

  • Does anybody know a pearl jam song that is alike this one?

  • @bla90 Last Kiss

  • @bla90 just breathe, indifference, although i think that one is just eddie veder.

  • @bla90

check out just breathe, indifference, the end, pretty much all the songs of the "into the wild soundtrack" the song from "i am sam" and the song from "dead man walking" and i really really suggest a song called im still here which is pretty much a life story being told by eddie vedder. also present tense is a good one and inside job and come back. i think thats about it for PJ's and eddie's softer ones.

  • @21golden007

Thank you very much, i'll check them out.

Already own his solo album which is beautiful but wanted to know

if he also made songs like that with Pearl. Now I know, thanks

  • This is a sad song:( but beautifully written :)

  • Now I understand why I loved the movie, BIG FISH, so much. This song really adds dimension & brings on the tears... I love you Eddie Vedder!

  • Probably one of the best songs ever written, and we were alive to hear it.

  • this song is a pure brilliant masterpiece.

the best soundtrack that could have been written for this wondeful film.

made me teary like hell, amazing stuff

  • After watching Big Fish, I heard this song in the credits and was blown away. A real inspiration.

This is one really awesome song, and I am officially a fan.

  • @MadDann1 and it fit the movie very well i believe......well done

  • @MadDann1 Agreed man. Hands down!

  • 4 guys are too selfish to assume that they cried when they saw Big Fish. Since I saw the movie, I cry everytime I hear the song. I love you dad, even though you might not know it.

  • @rockaintpollution not everyone cries... different viewers .. they may not be guys .. but this film was intended for (father -sons) as it shows a great bond

  • Which album is this from?

  • @Iantorchwood 私も彼のキャラクターだいすきです!日本でもこの映画のラストには皆泣きましたよ。

    彼が若くして亡くなったのは残念だし悲しいです...

He is my favorite too! Everyone cried at the end of the film here in Japan also.

It's so sad he died so young...

  • 4 people will never be the man of the hour

  • Great song. The same feel was emanated throughout the soundtrack for "Into the Wild".

  • I love this song...

    and which tits clicked dislike??

  • @Sammi363

It was this one cow -- all 4 of its tits hit the dislike button. Utterly tragic.

  • @MITCHsaysHI ahem....you mean udderly?

  • @19wayfarer19

Well, if you want to milk the joke for all it's worth.

  • @MITCHsaysHI yeah but you gotta be careful not to butcher it

  • I used to this song all the time just after my grandad died in 2006. I listen to it now and I still weep at the thought of him.

  • my favorite song from Pearl Jam,amazing song !!!!

  • This song, is like.. something that I can listen to, and see the peace in death.. as wierd as it may sound. It is just so beautiful, I'm only 14, but this song is just amazing. I wish more artist could make something like this. Pearl Jam is such an incredible band. Not that many songs in the world can pull so many emotions from people like this one.

    :D

    Wonderfull song and movie :)

  • I'm listening to this song right now off my head....

    the beauty is indescribable

  • @ZydostwoiLewica boring if your an asshole maybe... I know this generation has the attention span and artistic value of a fucking table cloth, but some of us can recognize a nicely written soft song.

  • this is the best song for our dads. come on people, we all'll miss them one day.. and probably we'll become one of them one day.. so show your feelings to them while you can. yeah I'm drunk but that's ok.

the moledy... is for kill somebody... but a form very gentle..

    cheers.

  • I played this song for a week before we had to put my dog down. It still stirs up those times for me.

  • The most subvalorizated song of Pearl Jam, but still one of the best songs of all time.

I call It perfect, and If perfection is real, then this is the proof. The Composition, The Lyrics, all.

It makes you think about how grateful we should be for being alive and listening to this type magistral music.

  • Every time I hear this it's as though Gunnery Seargent Charles Johnson is still whispering to me to keep my temper cool and my powder dry. Three brutal wars in service of his country, yet still kinder and wiser than any person I've ever known. Saved a bullet riddled young man from the self destruction of rage. "Old men comprehend". I miss you immeasurably Gunny, good-bye for now. Thanks so much for posting this. He's not here now, but this song helps me find my balance when I need him.

  • i just got done watching the movie for the 3rd time in a row lol. its just so gooodd <3 this song is perfect.

go up to your URL bar, put a Q between the words you and tube and then press enter or click go

  • Most beautiful song I know about losing a parent. I'm losing mine. I'm at that age when you have to expect it. And I suppose if the children last into middle age, then it was good. The whole thing done well enough. God, if you believe in him, was generous. But we're mortal.

  • I lost my Dad to brain cancer at the age of 68 almost 4 years ago. It is very difficult - I am sorry about what you are facing and will pray for you. I found comfort in this song, and would often listen to Five For Fighting's "Fifteen" and theme from Chicken Little, but the best is MercyMe's "Homesick." Knowing we will reunite with our loved ones in Paradise gives us hope!

  • Thank you, and I'm sorry for your loss. I'll search for Homsick and Fifteen. My mother's comfortable with the idea of passing. Much less comfortable with fighting her illness. The opposite of Man of the Hour's protagonist in every way. She's... um... happy. Says she enjoyed her life. She's been living in her bedroom for the past 15 or 20 years, although reatlively healthy. Has enjoyed it, even if others would not. Doesn't want to be miserable working toward staying alive for her last months.

  • I was wrong about the one song - The actual name of the Five For Fighting song is "100 Years" Sounds like your mother is at peace - that is a good place to be.

  • She's not religious and neither am I. She's not unhappy, and I feel neither should I be. I've listened to this song and cried a bit. That's all. She had it her way. And will have her passing her way. Had four children, all of whom... uh... can't say they love her well. She's not particuarly good at loving. She's not the worst.. Still... all on her terms, and that's what counts with her.

  • I was raised religious but then became a Christian in college. The difference? Religion is humanity's attempt to reach (be good enough) for God, while true Christianity is God's attempt to reach (redeem, save) humanity. Personally, I believe that where love and peace are, God is near.

  • I think there's some fallicy about non-believers, that we don't attempt to be good. We do. It's about doing your best in this life. Not that you'll be perfect, but that it's one life, here it is. Do your best. Think my mother is at peace. We're Jewish by ethnicity, and it's pretty similar to agnosticism or atheism in this respect. One life. You'll be imperfect. But strive to do your best. My mother enjoyed her life, and lived 76 years. Her kids have mixed feelings about her.

  • @seydawg I don't think she cares about her children's feelings. She wanted to live in her bedroom where she was queen of all she surveyed, and no one criticized it. That was a problem for me and... perhaps my siblings. I had a life she wasn't included in. Children she didn't know. But it wasn't a problem for her and... uh... fine. Glad she's content to see the spring.

  • @seydawg I found another song. Liam Clancy's The Parting Glass.

  • I don't cry at much but Big Fish made me cry and this song couldn't be more perfect. It just captures the feelings of the film.

  • @kewlguitarist I cry at this too. Though both my parents are the exact opposite of the man described.

  • great song, great lyrics, just perfect... love it

  • What a song, what an amazing movie!

All my respect for Pearl Jam and Tim Burton

  • This song and the movie is all about my dad, it took many years before I understood that everything he said had an underlying meaning.

He never wanted to give me any answers, he wanted me to understand, and for that I am thankful.

Now he has cancer in his spine and I pray that he will survive and become healthy again, can you please pray for him once. Thank you.

  • @andyboynr

The best for you and your dad...

  • @morrispmx

Thanks, I think that peoples prayers has helped because he is recovering rather well. Thank you to everyone who prayed.

  • Tidal waves don't beg forgiveness

  • beautiful...

  • wat about 'off he goes'

  • love it

  • amazing

    beautiful song

  • now this is what i call real music =)

  • This song is one of the most beautiful songs ever.

  • Amazing song!

  • Pearl Jam is on a mission to bring change in this world. I admire them most and there new album 'Backspacer' is there masterpiece.

  • The masterpiece was Vitalogy if you ask me...Riot Act was amazing too, and so was the Avacado album.

Less impressed with Backspacer but it's better than a lot of stuff out there.

  • Well I wouldn't call it their "masterpiece". That would be Ten. But Backspacer is great, but not they've got better albums.

  • I am completely in love.

  • "man of the hour" has to be one of my favourite songs of all time!! It never gets old!

  • que hermosa cancion!!!,beautiful song!!!
