While his friends do make fun of the pun, the way his name is written doesn't mean Strawberry. TMM's Ichigo's name is spelled in hiragana which means Strawberry. Bleach's Ichigo's name is spelled in Kanji that would literally translate as "First Protector".

This is so weird. I just finished watching all of Tokyo Mew Mew (in Japanese) and had no idea there was an english dubbed version. It doesn't even seem like the same show. I know that of course things have to change and adapt during translation, just because of cultural and language differences (afterall, they have to make a show originally created for a Japanese audience make sense to the Western world), but in this case it seems to have really cheapened the show. It's a shame.

I loved this show so much, I had to finish the series in Japanese when they stopped dubbing them because 4Kids lost the rights to this show.

It was worth it- I like Tokyo Mew Mew way better.

They cut so much out of Mew Mew Power. It's not the same when you watch the original and then the dubbed version.

here's bridget's transformation, she duid have a solo transformation by herself on ephisode 3 ir 4, i dont remember, but since it was the only single time she tansformed alone she didnt get an american theme, therfore her original theme was the one shown on mew mew power as well

No she didn't. NOT IN THE ENGLISH DUB. The only times she ever transformed in the original Japanese version on her own were in episodes 5 and 16. In episode 5, it was replaced with an Animal Instinct sequence with the first 3 girls. In episode 16 it was cut completely. I have all of the Japanese and English episodes on DVD and I even posted all of the English account on Youtube.

Episode 3(or 4 in MMP) didn't have her transformation sequence at all. Only her attack.

Actually ALL these transformations you see in all anime were inspired by Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor moon. That woman created the show a LOOONG time ago. He was into astrology ad manga and attended both school

Clubs. So she decided to fuse them together. The other authors try to make something just as captivating. Sailor moon is a CLASSIC hands down.

The Manga for Sailor Moon is good but the anime is basically: Sailor Moon whines and doesn't do her job, she transforms and whines again since she's too scared to do anything. Tuxedo Mask comes in and says something cheesy. Sailor Moon attacks and monster dies. Lather, rinse and repeat for almost every episode. At least Ichigo was only saved about 10 times by the Blue Knight throughout the show's 52 episode run. Heck, a lot of times, she saves him.

I do agree that the manga was much better. But if you've ever watched something other than the early filler episodes, then you'd know that wasn't true. Especially Sailor Moon S, I loved the Death Busters, Pharoah 90, Mistress 9, the Holy Grail, the Three Talismans, and the Outer Soldiers!

But I really haven't watched anything of Tokyo Mew Mew, so I shouldn't be talking.

Most of the time. The only time they're not erased are when they first become Mew Mews(because 4Kids kept the concept of each new Mew Mew having a mark) and when they transform. For some weird reason, they erased them every other time they were shown.

If you're talking about the "Goody Gum Drops" thing in episode 26, that was just something 4Kids made up just to hide the fact that she couldn't say Tambourine Trench(due to there being no trenches being made during the attack). In fact, her attack itself doesn't make trenches at all. It was just an effect in her attack sequence.

I have the original and a bunch of other dubs. I have a collection of about 19 different dubs of Mew Mew(although a couple in particular are lacking in full episodes at the moment). I personally let the whole dub fiasco go years ago. They aren't dubbing it anymore and never finished it. Going on about it isn't going to do anything.
