I think I love Doug! In the first minute he summarised my entire view on marriage! I'm no basement dwelling loner but I can't can't see the point in all the preparation for marriage. I think marriage is a sign of commitment to your partner & family, it gives a sense of dual responsibility, but I dont think you necessarily need a certificate from the government to have these feelings. Its just another form of control on the population by the church through law and farce!!

a very large proportion of married couples enjoy as active a sex life as anybody in a non-nuptial relationship; the fact they've decided to spend the rest of their lives together also means the sex is more meaningful. Unfortunately there are plenty of dysfunctional marriages out there and those are the ones which the media hone in on. After all, what is interesting about a happily married couple? What about the initial books that contradict each other? What about the questionable date they were written? Or the fact that the true authors can't even be confirmed?
There is more evidence suggesting the messiah character was plagiarized from prior belief systems than there even being any "Jesus" of that time period.
