i've heard this kind of thing going on when at Colarodo Springs at Chyanne Zoo not sure if it was the wolves or someone else but went on for a few minutes so i'd think it was a wolf howling XD
i always wanted to go visit Montana and i will go well one day and here in Cali where i live its not ver ...wilderness but luckily since i live by the mountains i hear them howl at nite but i dont know anyone from Montana tho to tell me how ot loks like.
right now there is an over population of "Wild Boar " in the south, mid western, and some eastern states. Why You ask? Because their natural Predators AKA wolves, and Mountain Lions , Bob Cats are no longer prevelant. ( sp). Humans Have up set the ecological system that has its own checks and balances built in. As a First Nations Person I am saddened at no longer hearing my Night Brothers and Sisters singing in the evening here on the east coast.

To those who care about wildlife any living creature has the same value and need protection. It's that simple.
Why don't u people grow up and realize the whole picture we are killing our planet and our wildlife,wolves and other carnivors are there for a reason and we should respect MOTHER NATURE she knows best!!!!!!!

The 'whole point of a farm' is NOT simply to raise and slaughter animals. And those that you do, you do not want some other critter eating them before your able to. If even just a coyote came and chowed on one of my newborns, there would be hell to pay.

Hunting is actually better for the environment if done in a sustainable way, as it lowers the emissions involved in industrial food practices. Predators also keep things more balanced, so protecting them is actually extremely important for the balance and health of an ecosystem.

Anyways, so how, genetically, is this possible. Some impossible bestiality? You can't be a hybrid of two different species of animals that aren't related. That would be like having a pet that's part cat and part rhino, it just doesn't work.

@Cummins24v01 There is no such thing as a "god" and so no, animals weren't put here for our survival. We evolved and are animals as well. Hunting is actually better for the environment if done in a sustainable way, as it lowers the emissions involved in industrial food practices. Predators also keep things more balanced, so protecting them is actually extremely important for the balance and health of an ecosystem.

It's a way of controlling population because the wolves will overpower their prey populations very quickly with how fast their numbers grow. They also pose a threat to cattle and farms, taking away their living and income. Dear god, do some research before you go worshipping wolves, and see that they do damage as well as just sit around and look pretty/cute.

Wolves, when introduced to the wild, have devastating effects on the animal populations that they prey on. There are more than enough wolves in the wild.

People have done an ENORMOUS amount of damage to the world in comparison to wolves. You don't see wolves killing each other over nothing or fighting over nothing. You see them working in unity, as one. We could all learn something from the animal kingdom. But some people, refuse to see it. Their own loss truly.

@jetlox Better yet, buy some 100+ acres of land and make it into a (FENCED) sanctuary for endangered wolf packs. I'd actually pay to see something like that built. They can roam all they please and don't get into things their not supposed to eat. Stick in a couple deer for good measure, and poof! It's Wolves Gone Wild PG-13 edition.
Not to mention in the 'wild wild' they're heavily prone to getting accidentally poisoned from landfills, run over, trapped by trappers trying to catch 'yotes, etc.

@MissVM One more thing just so you know, wolves are one of the very few wild animals that will AT WILL leave a man alone if he doesn't threaten or disturb his existence in any way. Most of the cases of wolves attacking people are either because they threatened the wolf in any way or they invaded his territory ( which is basically the biggest problem with us, we colonize and "develop" land without considering the effects of this "development" on the creatures that lived in the area).

2. The wolf is starving ( instinct to survive )
3. The wolf is displaced because of the constant expanding and development of land for human occupation. When this happens the wolf's old hunting area could be turned into a farm for example, and means they will hunt whatever is there (i.e. Humans and livestock)

They prefer staying within their territories and with their pack than explore into unknown ground. You may look down on wolves as just another carnivorous animal but what you don't know is that wolves have more control over their primal and predatory instinct than most predators do.

@Astatine0936 actually (now this is a rarity but bare with me) wolves don't always try to avoid humans take pups for example always wanting to explore and are curious about the natural environment just as we are as babies sometime pups will come along a travelling wanderer and move SLOWLY towards it curious as to wat it is. bc we hunted them for thier fur for a long time adult wolves rarely come in contact with us when the natives (who held the wolf as sacred) came in contact with them a lot.
