The earlier ken and barbie outfits were not nearly so fruity! There were no pink aisles in the stores. I got hand-me downs from aunts and older female cousins. Being a boy I'm not sure why I was given all this Barbie stuff. I liked Barbie though, and still do.

He's not a hairdresser. He's just a guy who enjoys his bouffant hair. There is Nothing on the package that talks about Ken being a hairdresser. This review is a FAIL. And for those who said this is a 1970s style, this doll was released in the early 1990s, around 1992. I miss the old reviews where Mike showed his bearded visage and made fun of the toys, instead of just showing them off and being kind of boring about it

I wanted this when I was a girl because it was a Ken with real hair. Most Ken's hair was molded plastic and that offended my aesthetic sensibilities, even as a child. However even I, who was too young to know about ... alternate lifestyles ... hated his 'totally lame' clothes and planned to buy other outfits for him.
