My uncle knew few people, so did i but they got killed. That is based on the real story. In film there was only 1 survivor but for real there have survived 2 of russians soldiers. They are physically ill after such a stress, they see all of that in their dreams. I fell sorry for all of those who have fallen in Afgan. !!!GOD BLESS RUSSIA!!!

The best parts of the whole movie are in this video and the movie is "inspired by true events" which means that in true events only two of the guys in 9th Company died and in the movie only one guy of 9th comany stays alive. Overdramatic BS.
Well to be fair, 6 Soviets died. It was a fairly pitched battle, but the Red Army not only held their objective, they did it with professionalism and honor.

9ya Rota is so good movie. Way better than some of american kitschy war stories. European war movies are more shocking than hollywood. Here death is just like spit and you`re gone, without dramatic camera shots and pathetic music. The best example of my words is finnish winter war mowie "Talvisota" (btw (9ya Rota is both russian/finnsh). Talvistota made me shut for many hours with some reflexions to think about. Nevertheless 9Rota `s either.

In reality you probably will never see a Russian soldier cry, they just show them crying for the movie to make it more emotional. My bro was in chechnya and whenever he would watch an American war movie where soldiers always cry he'd be like "Why are they crying? they are soldiers." beautiful song. i am not familiar with the movie, at first i thought it was " the beast" which was a movie about a soviet tank trapped in a box canyon surrounded by Afghans during the war . but this turns out to be something just as intriguing. can i find this movie in the states?

The best parts of the whole movie are in this video and the movie is "inspired by true events" which means that in true events only two of the guys in 9th Company died and in the movie only one guy of 9th comany stays alive. Overdramatic BS.

9ya Rota is so good movie. Way better than some of american kitschy war stories. European war movies are more shocking than hollywood. Here death is just like spit and you`re gone, without dramatic camera shots and pathetic music. The best example of my words is finnish winter war mowie "Talvisota" (btw (9ya Rota is both russian/finnsh). Talvistota made me shut for many hours with some reflexions to think about. Nevertheless 9Rota `s either.

"The film is based on events which took place in early 1988 during the last large-scale Soviet military operation "Magistral". In the movie, only one soldier from the company survives and the company is said to have been "forgotten" by the military command because of the Soviet withdrawal, where as in reality the 9th company was in constant contact with HQ, was backed by artillery fire and lost only a handful of men"

In reality you probably will never see a Russian soldier cry, they just show them crying for the movie to make it more emotional. My bro was in chechnya and whenever he would watch an American war movie where soldiers always cry he'd be like "Why are they crying? they are soldiers." He said that if the soldier cries then he's not a man enough to face the reality of war.
