thank you too. This is totally fine for a Christian school. I personally had an extremely unpleasant upbringing with fundamentalist christianity. It almost killed me. One thing it left me with is a complete respect for keeping inappropriate religious intrusions out of public events. this is not one of those. It was well done too, and while i am not a Christian, your honest response shows me there may still be some genuine ones out there. congratulations on graduation too.
if this was a public school, i doubt a "hail satan" would have been so well received here, or "please turn towards mecca and pray with me" but when christians inflict their deity onto others the people cheer... incredibly... to prevent them from doing so is called persecution. hopefully this was a privately funded school...
Thank you for your honest remark. This is Private Christian school. This prayer is a historical traditional part of the ceremony of this institution.
I was struck by the tone of your reply. It sounded definsive and prejudicial. I am not at all prejudiced against other celebrating their spirituality in their settings. Are you? Are you prejudice against Christianity? I loved celebrating my spirituality. I didn't impose my beliefs. Are you trying to do that here?
@kindlee68 We in the atheist community are sensitive on this issue after at what just happened in Louisiana. I'm sure venting on this video was markofthebeasts' way of releasing frustration. Although I have never spoken to him and would not want to put words in his mouth.
I hope you don't have a prejudice against those who who find spirituality a joke. I'd also like to point out that he put forward no beliefs so your question has me puzzled. ~peace to all beings~
@jacobrperry - I think that the word "inflict" caused me to pause. As a Christian, I am also sensitive to "open minded" people who condem any representation of religion, particularly Christianity. - I personally am glad to live in a country that in theory allows all religons a form of representation and do not have prejudice against others who practice (without harming) any beliefs.
