I don't think this is his best performance of "Silent Night" (and I'm a big Josh Groban fan). He hits a few notes just shy (flat). Check out his other performance of Silent Night here on YouTube. He hits the notes perfectly.

@jdfan1989 really..? his vowel placement is all sorts of crazy and his tuning..?! We'll just leave that alone, but it's where the true pain of this video comes from.. Aside from that, his vibrato sounds as though he's trying to sing while driving down a really bumpy road..

I'll give it that he's definitely made a name for himself, but technically speaking.. this performance is kinda painful..

Yes, really. I really would like to hear you sing better to prove me wrong. Hmm...maybe he's oh I don't know, SICK. This performance isn't painful...for most people anyways. He's a great singer even when he's sick. Even on his not-so-great songs he sounds better than most singers today.

@jdfan1989 True, he may be sick, but the tuning I commented on is a problem he has almost any time he's singing live and in general, his vowel placement and vibrato are really odd..

He's got a lot of talent, but those things along with some other technical things turn me away..

@Shelby596 Most people who are critical are well trained singers/musicians. I'm not saying he's horrible.. I actually just found came across a video of his that I kinda liked.. probably the first time that's happened for me.. I don't find him enjoyable to listen to because of all the tuning problems he has.. that's all. This particular video though, was pretty bad in terms of tuning problems.. the 3rd note he sang was pushing sharp.. the long note at 2:38 is almost a half-step flat..

I've seen the videos made by fans at this event. Josh was not mad. They had to tape this a few times - maybe he was tired and frustrated. He was joking with his fans between tapings and making Mickey Mouse ears.

Though I am a big fan of Josh's, he was not at his best in this performance. He seemed to be yelling a lot, and he was pitchy. Also he looked angry though he may have been just squinting in the sun.

Disappointing performance, though the little boys' choir was GREAT and right on tune.
