Well f2p is really better but the only game i am going to pay for is going to be Guild wars 2 because you just have to get it one time and you are done so most mmo's should be that it's amazing :D But f2p is really cool and Runes of magic is a good game,Allods online is really good too but the playerbase is too small that's why i don't play it you need more players to get the most out of the game
I feel like there should be more games that use ArenaNet`s business model which is, pay a set value for the game (i.e. $60 for the box and that`s it) which gives 100% access to everything BUT, there are other options which allow you to pay more for aesthetic features such as dresses or suit or whatever.
I play both free to play and pay to play, which are games like WoW and LoL. I prefer to play games like LoL because its free and their option to pay which to customise your champion with different skin. The only reason why I still play WoW is because im hoping it because better as the cambat in this game is brilliant

Maplestory used to be my most favorite game in the world. I've gotten a character to level 200 and many others close. I have played it from beta in 2005 until november this year. But that game is absolutely 100% pay to win now. If you want to get anywhere near being "good" you either hack or pay upwards of 2,000 USD/CAD to become a "great" player. This was not always the case but it is now and is a reason why i will never play another pay 2 play game. Just because you'll get jew'd over later on.
P2p games provide a more level playing feild where you cant just buy your way to victory
In WoW you have to spend days leveling your character and collecting gear and stuff to do the high level armour so in pvp the person that wins is the person thats spent more time playing and learning the game not the nub that came in and spent $100 yesterday and now has better stuff then you

Stronghold kingdoms is a f2p game but realy its more of a pay to win game where you have to buy "cards" which gives you advantages like 3x move speed or 5x apple production so the best players just had every card running 24/7 and it got very expencive very fast
I like p2p better than f2p. Simply because I played runescape f2p and p2p and p2p has about... 99% more content. which is how it works for every game with a f2p and p2p model -.-
Also when I was younger I played both f2p and p2p a ton and spent more money on the f2p games!
For example I played runescape p2p which back then was 5 bucks a month "now its 6" and I played grandchase "F2P".
Ended up spending over 250 dollars on the f2p game because you actually bought the best gear -.-

They dont offer anything that could give an advantage over other players, only skins and the possibility to unlock champions permanently (which may sound like an advantage but really isnt, considering it is a team based game and that the balance between champions is incredible).
F2P, though I really would like to see more f2p games that bridge NA and the EU. I have a few friends in England but nothing turns me off more from a f2p game than a friend saying "this game is not available in your region" Grand Chase, Dragons nest, and Elsword just to name a few.
I feel like the next step for TES should be an Elder Scrolls online, where the entire continent of Tamriel is open to you, and you can do all that awesome elder scrolls stuff you can do all over the world, and with friends.
P2p. Although I enjoy runescape, a f2p game, you have to pay membership to experience much fun out of it honestly. Starcraft 2, Warcraft 3, strategy games are the ones I want to see take off. Roleplaying games are just addictive.

@skaterguy1423 it depends on what you're playing the game for, so say you play an MMO there are two ways it can work out in the companies Favor, if you o F2P then you have to put in Micro transactions throughout the game and that would make it so they can Keep the servers in which you play on available, if they go P2P then there really is no need to worry because they get money for the server and to pay people to develop new content, same with map packs
When you have a good f2p model, such as league, where all paid items are visual items and items that don't effect the core gameplay of the game itself, the game really shines.
As I watched this video I was downloading DC universe and as I saw this I downloaded Sudden attack and Dungeon Fighter Online, and I like all 3 of them, I also play LoL and TF2 and enjoy both and play WoW when I get the occasional free 2 weeks, but I'm definitely enjoying F2P, the F2Pocalypse is definitely occurring

I think the stereo type of "money grubbing" is a very American impression since over in asia, the F2P model is the standard, and pay to play is the oddity. I thought his analogy of a club where you pay a cover charge, or pay for drinks was very succinct.
I only play TF2 and have spent nothing on the game I might pay a few bucks to get the extra backpack space but that's as far as I would go. @MachinimaNovak I think they would the whole reason they went with the MMO was the fact that the RTS team was busy trying to get StarCraft 2 out once all 3 campaigns and if needed expansions are complete they will then move the team on to work on Warcraft 4. WOW was nothing more then a game to by time to get SC2 complete and to keep people from begging them to make Warcraft 4.

Im in both camps. If Free to Play offers a fair balance, as in people who arent paying can still become equal in terms of power in the game, then Im all for F2P. But if you NEED to pay to be able to defeat anyone else in whatever game it is then no Ill stick with P2P.
I prefer a once a month payment for the whole game instead of getting half a game for free and then having to pay extra for most of the stuff. In this case you would probably end up paying more in a month for extra content then you would if it was a once a month flat-rate payment.

@skaterguy1423 it depends on what you're playing the game for, so say you play an MMO there are two ways it can work out in the companies Favor, if you o F2P then you have to put in Micro transactions throughout the game and that would make it so they can Keep the servers in which you play on available, if they go P2P then there really is no need to worry because they get money for the server and to pay people to develop new content, same with map packs

As I watched this video I was downloading DC universe and as I saw this I downloaded Sudden attack and Dungeon Fighter Online, and I like all 3 of them, I also play LoL and TF2 and enjoy both and play WoW when I get the occasional free 2 weeks, but I'm definitely enjoying F2P, the F2Pocalypse is definitely occurring

@emnity33 Min Kim is one of the most mellow, chill and level-headed devs I've met. Nexon in general has been very cool with realm, and everyone I've met is the same, down to earth, genuinely nice people.
I think the stereo type of "money grubbing" is a very American impression since over in asia, the F2P model is the standard, and pay to play is the oddity. I thought his analogy of a club where you pay a cover charge, or pay for drinks was very succinct.

I only play TF2 and have spent nothing on the game I might pay a few bucks to get the extra backpack space but that's as far as I would go. As for the big chuck of F2P and P2P they are just MMOs and I'm sick of seeing MMO's give us an RTS F2P then I'll play it. I'm just really sick of how most RPGs now think they have to be an MMO. I say screw that give me a classic JRPG and call it a day.

@MachinimaNovak I think they would the whole reason they went with the MMO was the fact that the RTS team was busy trying to get StarCraft 2 out once all 3 campaigns and if needed expansions are complete they will then move the team on to work on Warcraft 4. WOW was nothing more then a game to by time to get SC2 complete and to keep people from begging them to make Warcraft 4.

@ReaperEntertainment0 well actually, they went to the MMO because they were originally going to make the Warhammer MMO when Gamesworkshop canceled the project, since they already had the Warcraft series they decided "hey why don't we take the Engine that we already made and put our game onto it!" and such WoW was Born, it is the end for the Warcraft series because they can just continue from it, if they made WC4 then they'll probably make WoW 2

I'm guessing you've played WoW free to play, and you're under the impression that this is actually how F2P games work. You should look at how games like Maplestory, Vindictus, Dragon Nest, and others work.

Im in both camps. If Free to Play offers a fair balance, as in people who arent paying can still become equal in terms of power in the game, then Im all for F2P. But if you NEED to pay to be able to defeat anyone else in whatever game it is then no Ill stick with P2P.

I prefer a once a month payment for the whole game instead of getting half a game for free and then having to pay extra for most of the stuff. In this case you would probably end up paying more in a month for extra content then you would if it was a once a month flat-rate payment.
