  • Ryan "Riff" Cassidy can make that EBow cry!

  • this song hits on every emotion i have left in me

  • Sometimes (not very often) you'll hear something that beautiful it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. This is one of those moments and it happens everytime I listen to this. Buddy, you're the man.

  • Wonderful treatment of Morricone's gorgeous melodic work. Emmons is such a great talent - This is quite a combination! Thanks for this post!

  • Once Upon A TIme In The West has about five distinct musical themes, and they are all tremendously memorable....True inspiration shined down on Morriccione's head when he produce that score...

    I probably misspelled Morriccione....

    Gimme a Blu-Ray O.U. A. T. I.T.W.

  • When did they let him start displaying the Emmons name on the steel again??? Boy, there's a good story to go along with that question!! Hit me up and I'll tell you off line.

  • Theres just not enough stars to rate this.....

  • My favorite steel guitarist of all time. I saw him in concert with Jeff Newman in the summer of 1983, and still to this day, this remains the most memorable event in my steel career. I'd be happy if I could play a fraction as good as the Big "E". He's one tough act to follow, but worth all the effort.

  • The most amazing thing I have ever seen.

  • Its amazing how close he can make the steel sound to the opera singer in the original song.

  • Listen to Buzz Evans Play the Steel. Much more melodic. Not to diss Buddy who will always be one of the greatest ever.

  • I love his bar-rolling vibrato technique. Very emotional.

  • Wow...

  • This is my favourite video on youtube

  • Fantastic! I saw english steelplayer Sarah Jory doing this live and it really went through my bones....never new Buddy did this.thnx for sharing this..

  • I loved this song so much when I heard Buddy play it at the 1977 ISGC I tried to get a steel player I knew in Phoenix to play it and he never would play it all the way thru.He said it was too slow for dancing.

  • great job Buddy! A theme from THE best composer of film music the great ENNIO MORRICONE.

  • Damn straight!

  • You don't see an E-Bow used very often. I bought one years ago, and never devoted enough time to really get the hang of it. Buddy's use of it in this tune is simply phenomenal! Whattasound! I'll dream about this vid tonight....thanks!

  • Sarah Jory uses an Ebow well............:-)

  • Simply beautiful. Thank you very much for posting this video

  • One of the best steel guitar moments.

There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said yet.

    Big E at his best.

    Adair Torres

  • The steel guitar he is playin' is called "The Blade"

  • are you sure, cause the blade has 9 pedals on it and the sticker that says "the blade", im not calling you a liar, just wondering

  • Oops, sorry. Buddy's got so many guitars, it's hard to tell.

  • no problem, he doez have a lot, I wish my emmons sounded like the blade!!!

  • what is that he is using at 2:03-2:57? its cool!!

  • That's the Ebow.

  • o it sounds good

  • Awesome is not a big enough word . If life exists on other planets in the universe and Im sure it does, this man would be the best pedal steel guitarist in the universe.

  • There's a reason why Buddy is known as the world's foremost steel guitarist, and this video shows why! Incredible musicianship.
