Actually, I think you'll find that we call this 'Garage' but as you're American I assumed you wouldn't have any idea what that is so I called it Hip-Hop.

Then I gave you some examples of British Rap/Hip-Hop (which I doubt you looked up).

Jehst and Taskforce are a great deal better than 90% of the American stuff you'd hear on a regular basis, admittedly artists like Sage Francis, Atmosphere, J-Zone and Brother Ali are incredibly good, but there are in the minority.

Record sales are not totally representative of the quality of the artist(s). For example; Atmosphere... One of the greatest hip-hop groups in the world in my opinion, and CunninLynguists are also at the same level. I hesitate to include Jehst, Braintax due to the difference in producing methods, but they are also at roughly the same level.
