Thank you for this Otto. I remember the first time I heard this, borrowed from a friends cool older brother. I was 14 or 15 I think. It was like the sound of my emerging libido turned to music-so strange, dark, welcoming and sexy. The 12" was amazing, and the double grooves and glasses made it all the more exciting. I played it over and over and over and it got me all turned on. I've always wondered about the lyrics, is there a place to see all the lyrics?
I was a college radio DJ in 1980 and I would play this (was a vinyl single) I remember it was a pain to cue up because they pressed it with two different audio groves on the same side!
Thanks for your astute observation. Thankfully, this was made almost 30 years ago, when MTV had around 500 videos, but I sensed that I was dealing w/ the PTA mothers & they refused. Those are 2 of my 3 daughters 'banging the gong' in Catholic school attire. If they'd aired this, they would have taken them away from me. They grew up to be amazingly together young ladies, though I had my concerns when they whispered impromptu, "Leather, together" repeatedly at the song's conclusion!

I'm thinking maybe that neon lit hallway was also used in Betaville by Alyce Wittenstein, circa 1986.

Such a wonderful story! Thank you so much for telling me about that. Were any of the S&M shots filmed at the actual Chateau 19?
