yes the director is hot and a good person at heart and is going through hard time all the time but no matter how i look at it mook kuyl love merry more than him. merry never had any hesitation on whom she loved in the show she is just too timid to stand up for it.
ok people try being in moo kuyl shoes for a second, he seriously found everything in merry christmas that he never had in his life, someone who trully loves him against all opposition(rich or poor), whose always there for him whenever his sad because of his mom or tired with life in general, she is aways that steady rock he always wanted so of course he feels strong emotions on the possiblities she may have a change of heart plus all his giving her is trouble(his mom) so yeah low self esteem..

@rozzie70 exactly. there are a lot of good job offers for him even from the beginning of the drama but he keeps on refusing it just because he didn't want to. now he wants to stop working with the director because of his feelings against the director. and that's being real irresponsible and unprofessional. in reality it's true that just love isn't enough for a person to be happy. you have to pay your bills. you have to send your children to school etc.....and just love won't be able to feed you!

@blackestblasphemy04 mae ri's father is the owner of a ddeobeokki shop. unless you mean that his job was given to him by jung-in's father so that makes mae ri's father useless. but don't forget that mae ri's job was given to her by jung-in. this means that both mae ri and her father are relying on the jung family.
