Ya know... i was playing this song on the drums, but about 30 minutes before i chopped the tree on the side of my parents home down. My hands were covered covered in these black blisters and after i finished the song, my hands stung and their was blood dripping off the tip of the stick. I felt like Jesus.
It kind of bothers me that people call the newer music selling out or whatever. There was a time people actually appreciated vocal ability in metal that went beyond screaming. I for one prefer metal that has a good balance of screams and melodies. This guy has one of the BEST screams ever, but wow can he sing too, what's wrong with that?

@LojakZeRo His clean singing voice sounds like a pop singer complete with autotune...big big difference between that and someone like Dio. The chorus from this calling for example could EASILY be in a britney spears song, that melody progression and hook is 100% pure modern pop influence not metal. I dont actually have a problem with that though, it doesnt do it for me but if you like it thats fine, just be aware its the pop side of music you are enjoying there not metal, hence the derision.
@Pontus900 There is autotune all over all that remains 100% without a doubt...well technically I guess its not actually autotune as that is not the name of the software used nowadays but pitch correction is all over their tunes and its very very clear.
Modern pop music follows a very very specific formula harmonically with the vocal hooks and progressions beneath them..if you dont know music theory its tricky to explain to you but the chorus's used by atr and others follow the same formula, its

I have an IQ of 142 (Even though that just measures your mental capacity, not overall intelligence) and I love metal. I don't think I've ever met a whiny metalhead except for on the internet. This was the first ATR song I ever heard and ran out to get this album long time ago. ATR is the best to this day and For We Are Many is awesome as well I don't care what anyone says!

@a7xskullz i realize this, but they're few and far between dude. im not ripping on metal at all, it's probably my favorite genre. im just getting tired of reading comments on EVERY FUCKING SONG saying their older work is "better." fuck that. if a band changes up at all they're considered sellouts. atreyu, a7x, atr, trivium, kse, etc. all of those bands and more have so much awesome work, new and old. also, Bieber and Stefani (Gaga) were legit musicians until the labels got a hold of them.
