This is precisely why Phil is such a great drummer. He's an actual musician who 'hears,' understands, and therefore knows how to play to the music itself. He's one of the most 'musical' drummers out there. I've always appreciated Phil's inexorable role in laying the foundation for Radiohead's music.

in all honestly, when i heard that mr selway had done a solo performance i was slightly hasty about hearing it. i was expecting some bog standard strumming and not much more. he's an excellent drummer and surely should stick to that. how wrong was i?! he plays and sings beautifully. i really hope he pursues this venture. sounds like he's been doing it in secret for a long time and is no beginner so he might keep it that way. i hope he doesn't though.
