I'm sorry to inform you but it's not a gyroscope.

An example of a very simple gyro would be the tire on your bike. If you ride with no hands it's because the front is acting like a gyro keeping it from falling over and the back tire as well but it's easier to control since it's just in a way follows you.

I think they only need 3 at the most, depending on their function.

Yeah, I think.. One would be used for the gyro stabilization itself, the others would be used for orientation. Don't know for sure though.

model, its not a gmod made item, its built into the map i assume

Yep, built out of rotating brushes. It was one out of many experiments i did to figure out how hammer worked.
