i disagree, there aren't nearly so many similarities between Dionysus and jesus. Dionysus, on the one hand, is actually a god, while jesus was the antichrist counterfeit. Dionysus could not be held prisoner, while jesus got nailed by his own people, treated like common criminal trash, and his deceit was rewarded with torture, exposing his lack of humility and faith- his last words admitted that no god supported him. unfortunately martyrdom enabled his lies to spread like ebola or cancer.

I can't understand why people debate religion. That the reason wars are fought, well besides b.s. wars like Iraq. I'm agnostic and believe you have a soul and your body is a temporary vehicle to enrich your soul to learn and move on. That's a Buddhist or Hindu philosophy, but I'm not claiming to be either. I'm not debating either, just sharing my opinion because I'm not wagging my finger at anyone. We each have been granted our own time here to learn for ourselves. Anger and hate suck!

I don't blame you for saying this, for I can see why you don't. If you reject everything about Judaism, why do you consider yourself Jewish. I am an ex-Jew, and I think the only people who should be considered Jewish are people who believe.

As far as Jesus go, there were people like Josephus and Tacitus who wrote about Jesus.

Josephus and Tacitus observed Christians over 50 years "after the fact." There was no contemporary evidence Jesus ever existed.

A Jew is a Jew by religion AND/OR ethnicity. I will always be a Jew by that definition. So will you.

That is circular logic. There is no other source other than the Torah that says that a Jew must have a Jewish mother. It is a religion like all the other religions. You no longer belong to it, once you stop believing.

Maybe 200 years from now, someone like me won't be considered a Jew. But 90% of the world does, my family does, my neighbours do, and if I was in Nazi Europe, I would have been sent to a camp.

And I could live in Israel if I wanted to, based on my Jewish ethnicity.

But you don't have to consider me to be a Jew. I really don't care.

Bold words. Atheists are usually so much more insidious with their attempts at deception. To simply say "Blind yourself to the truth and listen to me" is bold but counterproductive. You have tipped your hand. Discard your willful ignorance and accept the truth. There is evidence for the power of God and it's in your own home, sir.
