@MzLNC Thanks for the great comment. It's an incredibly difficult art form, but we love it and always go out of our way to watch any lion dance performance that is happening, which can be found by following that unmistakable sound. It's music to our ears.

Hi revolversmoke... The head is made of paper, bamboo and paint. It's not super heavy, but your shoulders start to burn halfway through the routine. Most women can not manage the weight of the head, but my determined wife did dumbbell shoulder presses for 3 months beforehand, and build up the endurance. Lion Dance is only for the committed practitioner. When they do the high poles, they have absolutely no fear. I'll post another video response of a high pole routine. Thanks for the comments!

Thanks onedorki3boi. We have full respect for the art form, culture and history of Lion Dance. It was an amazing experience my wife and I will share always, and be reminded every time we hear those distinctive ancient drums and cymbals.
