i think this scene worked so well because when youre the same age as littlefoot, it is unbearable thinking about your mother dying. theres no "i love you"s which made the scene much more sad. i hate it since they use it at every last word. the film itself is great, itll definitely stay in my memory for a very long time

The original Land Before Time has got to be one of the saddest children's movies in the history of animation. I remember this scene so well---used to make me sad when I was little, but now that I watch it as a teenager, I can't stop bawling.
