  • Go Bernhard Flies!

  • For a long time Wiegenlied (Cradle Song) was attributed to Mozart (K350 - 1780). However it is now believed to be by Bernhard Flies.

  • GO MOZART!!!

  • *_* T_T <-------- my emotions while listening to this

  • tedesco? inglese?spagnolo? ostrogoto?... Mozart è MOZART!

  • It's now known to be not by Mozart, but by Fliess, so K.350 no longer exists!

It is a lovely melody though, sung as a folksong in Austria and Germany.

  • @MrFpam

That's right. Even though this piece has been commonly misattributed to Mozart, it's still a lovely work. Perhaps the person who uploaded this video can correct the title...

  • Excuse me, do you have the piano sheet of this song? I love it so much!

  • N'awww, my grandma used to sing to me this melody when i was small :)

  • ummm....this was written by Johannes Brahms.......

    dumbasses

  • @holyshit219 Actually, this was believed to be written by Mozart for a very long time. However, it's now attributed to Bernhard Flies. The piece from Brahms is quite different from this one...

  • @holyshit219 you can say, brahms have his own interpretation like schubert`s "ave maria" which sounds quite the same as the rest. but mozart died 50 years before brahms was born.

  • @holyshit219 ok ^^ it was neither brahms or mozart

  • If this is not Mozart...I am not ...ME!

  • @ahmosis123 Sorry to hear that you have an identity crisis! The original publication by Flies in 1796 (5 years after Mozart's death) exists and may have been based on a similar version by Fleischmann, published the same year!

  • u say wolfgang i automatically think of OFWGKTA: tyler the creator

  • @autumntree2011 what the hell are you doing? Youre posting this on Mozart? Grow some braincells or two...

  • Some people want white females to mix with non-white males.

I made a one-minute video highlighting a very tiny sample of race-mixing advertisements.

I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.

If you click on my name “autumntree2011” highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.

(I'm not a fan of Hitler or KKK.)

  • wow, Thakns for this video ...

  • is doch romantic arranging ??? cannot be Mozart

  • if you play this at the end of a party while everyone around you is passed out, you feel like you're in a kubrick film

  • @all4dogz

Bernhard Flies (about 1770 in Berlin – ?) was a German amateur composer, best known for music to the lullaby Schlafe, mein Prinzchen, schlaf ein (Sleep, my little prince, fall asleep).

  • im singing this song as a solo in select choir

  • @all4dogz si no es mozart...se le atribuyo a el, pero no es de el....

  • This is really Mozart's??

  • @davlor86 Yes stupid

  • @kagomelove00 well just wondering, but i have never heard of this piece before until i found out this video...imbecile

  • @davlor86 Sorry for being rude but I love Mozart

  • @kagomelove00 lol no prob, if you love Mozart you could maybe check out my videos of him on my channel and tell me what you think about them ;P

  • @kagomelove00 A pity you were so unnecessarily rude, because you are wrong!

  • @davlor86 No, it's by Bernhard Flies.

  • In so many ways, I like this better than some of the more complicated pieces. It's beautiful!

  • In so many ways, I like this better than some of the more complicated pieces. It's beautiful!

  • Love the painting in green, where Mozart laughs!

  • Why does my soul always want to shed tears whenever I listen to Mozart's music like this kind? It's just so brilliantly touching even if I don't seem to cry on the outside.Too bad there's just a minority who appreciate music like this nowadays and I'm one of them.Same thing goes to Walt Disney himself. It seems like all the classic great stuffs are long gone and all we have today on radio & television are bubbly pop and Hannah bitchy Montana.

  • @underafrenzyspiral Amen to that! :(

  • My baby love this song.

Now she get some tees and she cry the hole day...

but when she´s listen to this song she just chill. xD

  • @headhunter223 You must be pretty stupid to think

  • @nycolas1712 that whole line you just said, was in fact, pretty stupid

  • @headhunter223 ...sorry

  • @nycolas1712 ja!

  • @all4dogz The piece is written by both Mozart and Bernhard....

  • @bunnybocks Nothing to do with Mozart!

  • Maaan, that's.. relaxing! :D Me like

  • einfach wunderschön :)

  • Do I have to be the first to say this?

    Who cares who wrote it?

I am indeed sorry for saying this and I know that whoever wrote the lullaby deserves acknowledgment. But when everyone is bickering over the writer it becomes clear that there is no proof who wrote this.

Can we all just enjoy the music?

  • zeer rust gevende muziek

  • We always sing it to the kids i was happy to learn it was Mozart

Well and if it is not nobody knew it before around here anyways

  • i always loved mozart. his so wonderful!

  • One of my grannies sent to Mozart the score and he changed something here and there... Listen to me, the lullaby is mine

  • Are each of the caricatures supposedly of Mozart? None look a bit alike, so he probably didn't look like any of them.

    Great piece of music !

  • Because it's so commonly mistaken for his work and no one is really sure who wrote it that it's easier to just admit it as his. Do some research, you'll see...

  • @lounakin >>> I think I may have wrote it.

  • It's NOT mozart... it was believed to be Mozart but turns out not...: "However it is now believed to be by Bernhard Flies from the theatre play "Esther" written by Friedrich Wilhelm Gotter (17461797)."

  • @lounakin

You'll have to do better than "believed to be" if you want to take this fine piece of music away from Mozart! I'd say etched in stone proof would do nicely. Got it?

  • @tigerlilly66 don't have proof, I got a bit carried away. I know a few of his works are believe to be somebody else's, I even know a concert pianist who is convinced he didn't write a single one! Ah, but I don't know...

  • @lounakin Erms, this is actually written by both of them............

  • @lounakin It's actually written by both Mozart and Bernhard.

  • @lounakin Well, you're both wrong. Read wikipedia for Johann Friedrich Fleischmann who is the reputed composer.

  • @rosten736 I guess we'll never know... since wikipedia is hardly trustworthy!

  • @lounakin Wikipedia being untrustworthy is hardly a reason to say "we'll never know." There are plenty of reputable sources confirming that the attribution to Mozart is spurious.

  • @rosten736 Possibly the original version on which Flies based his. The version we know and love is by Flies.

  • @lounakin let me guess..... u got this info from wikipedia?

  • @661Sunshine No, didn't get it from there, but it's hard to know the veracity of any web page...

  • @lounakin that's why u gota use a book

  • @661Sunshine I would if I cared enough to know... but I don't.

  • @lounakin

""However it is now believed to be by Bernhard Flies from the theatre play "Esther" written by Friedrich Wilhelm Gotter (17461797)."

    Pourquoi « it is believed »?

  • @lounakin That's still a matter of contention, depends on who you ask. It sure is beautiful whoever wrote it. It has been used as the melody for the Swedish Christmas song "Låt Mig Få Tända Ett Ljus" (let me light a candle)

  • @lounakin let us our Mozart theme an austrian

  • @lounakin I believe it was Friedrich Fleischmann who wrote this piece. :)

  • @lounakin However it is now believed to be by Bernhard Flies from the theatre play "Esther" written by Friedrich is it or not make your mind up dick ed

  • @lounakin it is from mozart! I have it into a music box, it says: Mozart, wiegenlied. I can proove it.

  • @lounakin WOW. People are being really rude about this even a year later. Seriously? Calm down people. >>;

If it helps any, this is what is noted in my music book: (cont.)

  • @lounakin "For years Wiegenlied has been erroneously attributed to W.A. Mozart and was assigned No. 350 in Köchel's catalogue. Max Friedländer discovered the original edition bearing Flie's name as early as 1896. The song has since been relegated to the Köchel's Supplement where full particulars are to be found under Anhang, No. 284F."

By the way, that's coming from Songs through the Centuries by Carl Fischer.

Believe what you want, but some things in history will always be uncertain.

  • @lounakin

  • i love this song!

  • Wow, this is the same tune as an old swedish christmas song... Guess someone ripped off Mozart.

  • Schitterend! Dankje

  • Geen dank!

  • No wonder Mozart is considered an unrivaled genious! The performance is awsome too. Thank you I'll enjoy it with all my heart :D

  • Very beautiful melody but I like this performance very much. It is sublime. Thank you so much for posting. Do you have any information on the performers?

  • They were the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra :D

  • Thanks. It is simply gorgeous.

  • @all4dogz really? sweet ^.^

  • A very simple, yet hauntingly beautiful piece by Mozart. I imagine he thought this was no big deal at all, probably scoring it in but a few minutes, yet showing again to the world why he is a singular talent unrivaled!

The hand of God was evident in the music of Mozart, without a shred of doubt.

  • @tigerlilly66 You see, that's funny, because it isn't a work by Mozart. Search for Bernhard Flies on wikipedia. Oh, and most likely there is no god and in my opinion the musical talent of Mozart is rivaled by Bach and Schubert.

  • @atheist314 =

Whether it was Mozart, WC Fields, or Bugs Bunny that wrote it, ALL of the great music of all the Masters is an indicator of the reality of God. I'll give you a little bit of credit, as unlike the dozens of atheists I've done battle with, you are at least honest enough to say God "most likely" doesn't exist. That would make you a certified agnostic. There's hope for those who don't know, but want to rather than the self-absorbed egotists who call themselves "atheists" !

  • @tigerlilly66 An agnostic would say 'possibly', I said 'probably' because, even though I cannot prove or disprove the existance of a god, or gods, I am basically assuming that there aren't any. It doesn't matter either, what matters is that there is no evidence whatsoever, so in my opinion it is ridiculous to believe in a god. I do respect other people's beliefs, however, I just feel that attributing the hard work of these composers to a higher power is a bit offensive.

  • What is this? I dont know but, is fantastic!

  • it's Mozart :3

  • It should be on my channel now :3

  • Many thanks, vielen Danke, mille mercis...

Love this song so much... ;))

  • Me too :3 and no problem :D

  • This is present for the soul. Thanks.

  • This is absolutely beautiful.. Thanks for sharing! =)

  • Thanks for commenting! If there is anything elce you would like to see just let me know! :)
