The problem with these movies is that they aren't based on the novels by Dr. Tim Lahaye
The left behind movies are more hollywood garbage than christian....I am sorry to say it but its true.
If you want to make a movie, MAKE IT AS WE READ IT IN THE NOVELS!! GOOD GRIEF!!
The third sequel went completely off topic...It was no more a left behind book but a James Bond Crap. I was like "where in the novel does all this boring action stories come from"?
@bary1234 don't be a troll. if you actually bothered to listen to a Christian or read the Bible, everything makes perfect sense. Stop being a liberal biggot and actually listen for once. And personally, I believe in every bit of it. And also, the Rapture is actually God's mercy in taking the Christians and children so that they won't have to suffer through the apocalypse. Just think about it.
@usnavyman1 Everything makes pefect sense? This childish belief makes sense? Talking snakes, walking on water, 900 year old people makes sense? Brainwashed alert. Unless you have witnessed any of this sorta shit yourself, it makes NO SENSE! Don't be a dipshit.
@bary1234 In total agreement. It's so childish, yet millions of morons can't escape the clutches of this trash and realize they are indoctrinated from an early age. They should have an intelligence test, and if people believe this trash, an anvil should drop from 100' and crush their stupid heads so only people with rational modes of thought would exist to cleanse humanity of perpetual stupidity genes.
@19nisey69 Well that anvil was a bit over the top but I feel your frustration. Defenately we need to end these barbaric superstitious cults, but lets do it without bloodshed.
CRIMES: Count 1 - Invasion of Privacy. Which caused Count 2 - Continuous CRUCIFIXION OF ANGELINA DIMAURO since 2/16/1994. Today is almost 18-years of continuous CRUCIFIXION - Thursday, February 9, 2012 (Common Era), 5:56 AM (Earth-Eastern Standard Time)
The authors of the Left Behind series cannot be considered as Christians everything in the whole series does not agree with the Bible Scriptures. In the lasst book of the series, they have the audacity to portray Jesus as a character, going so far as to what Jesus would say.... if that's not Satanism at work, show me what is. Better yet, I'll tell you : THE VATICAN!!
@DONALDODAVISINI I'll tell you what it is: LITERTURE, buddy. If you're going to be that way about it, then we don't even have the right to pray to Yeshuah.
What I'm getting at is that there isn't anything wrong with portraying what "might happen". Do you recall that what He said in the final (actually, there was one more book after "Glorious Appearing") was mostly completely quoted from the Bible? None of this wasn't already said before.
@HatsuneMikufied what about when the Bible says not to portray any Heavenly images
how are two writers going to come up with what Jesus "might" say? Since when is it ok to take Scripture and fit into a fairy tale? And the fact they made millions of dollars off the Word of God (buy or sell mark of the beast sound familiar?) where is the rapture mentioned in the Bible anyway? A lie told 1000 times doesn't make it the truth ckeck yourself b4 it's 2 late....
@DONALDODAVISINI ...I'm disturbed by your misunderstanding. I'm not sure how purchasing a book is a permanent "mark". Besides, how would the number (666, or 616, depending on the version) fit into that?
Consider this for a moment, if you please: Paul lived long after the Ascention. In multiple Books (some really don't need to be there), Paul directly quotes Yeshuah. Even more true with the Gospels; none were written BY Yeshuah; only about Him.
@neurotyrant, When you said "GOD's a horrible father", you're wrong. GOD was on the earth with people just like us. He sacificed himself to save us from sin. I think you knew that, but it's true. GOD was Jesus alive a long time ago just like us.
I stumbled upon this accidentally, but I just want to interject. I'm a Christian too, and I'd like to say that people are being pushed away from religion by the very attempts we make to bring them into it. God is real, but smashing it in people's faces doesn't help them.
@sweetsweatyfeet Im sorry you feel that way, however, this movie was a great eye opener of the possibility of being left behind by Jesus Christ. The point of the movie was to bring Jesus into our reality. All of the actors did very well, considering they probably were paid little to nothing for the film. Yahweh(God) and Jesus (God's Son) are both very real. Have you established a relationship through prayer, faith and good works?
@REV7verse9 This movie was universally panned by the critics and is also in several "worst movie" lists. The rapture/tribulation is just one of many biblical fairy tale absurdities. Christianity is an fraudulent, objectionable belief system that has no place in minds of moral, rational,critically thinking people.
@sweetsweatyfeet I tell you my friend...you are not the only critical thinker. I testify to you that God is real. I have spoken with Jesus in visions. Jesus is coming back to collect his people. Anybody with a heartbeat can be forgiven. I pray that your eyes be opened to the truth.
@REV7verse9 You are entitled to your beliefs and I do respect that but please spare me the self righteous claims to absolute knowledge. Followers of every religion that ever existed speak with the same cultish dogmatism. Despite your assertions, all you have is a old book of nonsense and superstitions along with a desperate need to cling to them for comfort and security. But it's never too late to get your built-in bullshit detector back in order.
@sweetsweatyfeet Yeah, but you think sweetsweatyfeet will understand that if they believe in god and Jesus in the first place? It's sad how religion is forced upon young minds, and what you have is a pack of bumbling idiots who can't see that the supreme Santa is a fraud too.
@REV7verse9 I looked over your comment. I feel that there are better ways to be "convincing" of such things (not to say that that is the goal here, but what the hey).
What I say to this (the comment you are commenting upon) is that a simple lack of evidence does not constitute (sorry) a lack of reality. Consider emotion; does it exist? We certainly feel it. But how do we know, scientifically, that it's there? Much the same with God.
@HatsuneMikufied But now, as to this film: What I found somewhat strange is how Buck repeats the word "God". Was it the way he said it? I don't know; what downplays the film is how some lines are directly from Scripture; they could have modernized it, and that doesn't take a budget to work out.
However, I very much enjoyed (unfortunately but shamelessly) the role of Carpathia. Let's face it; the man is brilliant, even if you can't get what he's saying half the time.
We're in the Milky Way galaxy and it's very close to or is at the center of the Universe. There are billions of other galaxies out there. To us the Universe is inexplicably enormous. But the Universe translated into English literally means "single spoke sentence". So although it's so humongous to us, to GOD the Universe is just a single spoken sentence. And GOD loves us so much that He put us at the center of His Universe... And the sent His only begotten son to die for our sins
@TPerez1021 "God" sounds like a horrible father to willingly let his son be killed by an angry, unruly mob. Where is the morality in that? Explain the logic behind a man saying to his son..."My child, I really, REALLY love these people! So to show them how much I love them, I'm going to let them torture you until you die a horrible, painful, sadistic death." "BUT, BUT!" "Don't worry, my son. They'll sing songs about it later and then I'll feel better." BULLSHIT!
I'm sorry you feel that way, you come across as a really bitter person.His child wasn't just His son, Jesus was GOD in the flesh as well, thus the trinity. He sent His child to die for us so that we CAN all be His children. He wasn't tortured for GOD's pleasure. He died for our sins. If that hadn't happened, the human race would have no hope at all
@TPerez1021 Take a look at the world around you. Do you honestly think something like that would make any difference at all? Also, no, I'm not bitter. I'm also not a sucker. The best cure for Christianity is reading the Bible. I've done that, hence my position on all religion. I've also read the Qu'ran. Makes as much sense as the Bible does which is very, very little.
Yeah. It has made a difference. If you choose to be blind you refuse help. Anybody can say they've read the Bible. You give me absolutely no reason to believe you. If you're not a sucker you might want to take a closer look at whatever you do believe. Teach yourself about how ridiculous it actually is. Other than being bitter, I see absolutely no reason for you to go behind your keyboard to a Christian movie clip on youtube and bash on GOD there.
@TPerez1021 One reason is because I love toying with you guys. It's entertaining. Secondly...I do it because I can. I have to use a computer because I don't know where you live. Tell me how I'm blind and why I need help. You obviously believe in a higher power with all the answers so answer that for me.
I'll tell you that because I obviously believe that I'm right. Lol, and I'm glad you like "toying" with Christians, because I love to let arrogant scoffers know when they're wrong.
@TPerez1021 Arrogant? Like in the way that Christians proclaim to know some mysterious truth about the universe whilst not having any semblance of a reasonable argument or some kind of objective evidence to show us that you're right? Arrogant in the way that all others have to live by your rules? Arrogant because I have the sensibility to understand that what I believe could be wrong? Arrogant in that I don't subscribe fully to something that relies wholly on faith?Yeah, I'm arrogant
Lol, apparently extremely arrogant. Arrogant enough to make a bunch of hypothetical strawmen like you actually believe that I'd use those arguments or even feel that way.
You say Christians don't use objective evidence or any reasonable argument. That's false, a commonly used answer to this is the small probability and specification repeatedly used in every design from the single cell to finely tuned order of the Universe. It all yells out creation.
@TPerez1021 If it yells creation then it's a quite yell because I can't hear a damn thing from this "creation" you speak of. Christians don't use subjective evidence. They use the bible which has absolutely zero scientific merit.
@neurotyrant What's funny is if you actually read the bible, you would see subjective evidence that it is infact true. I feel sorry that you feel that way. Your being led into a dark path which infact is not the way that people should be living.
@Zentess Spelling and punctuation are key in a written debate. Do you believe everything in the Bible to be true or do you just pick and choose the parts that you like? Selling your daughter into sex slavery and ethnic cleansing don't exactly sound like the words of an all powerful, all loving god. They sound like the rants of stupid, racist, cave dwelling goat herders that want to control the masses through fear. THAT is no way to live.
@neurotyrant These are all OLD TESTAMENT. Mind that Christianity is mainly (but not only) the NEW TESTAMENT. The Old Law hardly applies anymore, although there ARE rules there that still apply, mind you. But in regards to Ex. 21:07-11: This covers the CIRCUMSTANCES by which the girl would be treated; this by no, and I mean NO means says that this is allowed. Tell me where it says otherwise. And I'm not even that gung-ho on religion. (A lie.)
You are absolutely wrong in saying the Bible has no scientific merit. Yes, the father's of science were inspired by the Bible to look into GOD's creation. Science has also been many years behind the Bible in several scientific findings. Aside from this most scientists don't reject the Bible for scientific reasons. They do it because they don't want to upset the science community applecart which indeed does have an a priori determination to contradict any evidence supporting it
@TPerez1021Inspired because they knew there was more than meets the eye. If the Bible is a book of science, which it isn't, then science would have no reason to disprove it, which it does. It's because of religion that we've only come so far. To question "Gods" creation under church rule would either have you imprisoned, tortured or killed. Science can easily disprove many of the Bibles "prophecies" and is only a matter of time until science renders the Bible totally useless.
Science doesn't have a reason to disprove the Bible, people do. When dealing with the past and any kind of origins science is extremely limited. It's to the point where it all has to be based on assumptions and bias. Any christian scientist out there (there are quite few) would tell that that the evidence supports the Biblical Creation model. Because the axiom they use is the Bible. Whether it's long age or not it's based on faulty assumptions.
Scientists are regular people just like you and I. I promise you, if you look into the writings that come directly from the scientists you would learn just how biased they are. They all have beliefs that require faith for their assumptions
@TPerez1021 If you're going to be THAT way about it, explain quantum mechanics; I haven't studied much, but apparently everything is information. Assuming that this is the same concept of "info" that we find in computers (although obviously different), it would take equal if not even more faith to believe this. (Of course, I buy it instantly, but that's because of my faith in God as well; I'm a sci/Christ guy.)
@HatsuneMikufied Also, despite the EXISTANCE of fact in science, it still takes the FAITH in the facts for one to be CONVINCED that reality is, in fact, real. The same is so with the LACK of evidence; you have to have FAITH that despite a LACK in the facts, that something can still be real; science has yet to show us ALL that is observable, you know. Who knows? (I know this is going to become famous.) Might invent a lens to see God.
Of course I KNOW science uses evidence. I never denied that, nor would I ever. That's insane. But you have to understand, knowledge seeking people don't just looking for the right answers, but they look for the right KIND of answers. Whether you're a naturalist or a Christian, you're going to look for the right kind of answers in support of what you believe in. EVERYONE has a foundational faith. Christianity bases faith on evidence.
@TPerez1021 You also said "Christianity bases faith on evidence."
The definition of *faith* is: Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
So, obviously, Christianity cannot possibly base *faith* on evidence.
Lastly, evolutional theory completely disproves the myth of Creation. No Creation = No original sin = No need for Yahweh/Jesus' malodorous cloud of self-sacrificing effluvium.
The definition I mean to use is "complete trust or confidence in someone or something (namely GOD)
It is based on evidence, evidence for the life of Jesus, and his resurrection.
That sounds just like something Richard Dawkins would say.
Anyway, you have to assume that evolution is true just to make that statement. It has many issues in itself. There are far too many things in nature that couldn't have possibly evolved. We can speak about it when you message me.
@TPerez1021 You also said "It is based on evidence, evidence for the life of Jesus, and his resurrection."
There is no evidence for Jesus' resurrection. That's why you have to use *faith*. The only accounts of any resurrections of any kind are in ancient holy books. The Bible has so many contradictions and inaccuracies that it can hardly be considered a valid representation of history. There has NEVER been any empirical evidence substantiating the validity of resurrections.
You're absolutely wrong about that. It's documented in history. Even in documents outside of the Bible. Those "contradictions and inaccuracies" are all shot down with understanding and reasoning. And asking for empirical evidence for it... That's rather silly. Your own statement lacks empirical evidence
@TPerez1021 And that's why they invented apologetics. So even the dopes would have more BS to back up the stupidity with more stupidity. You only choose to believe this garbage to feed yuor ego, which can't handle the idea that eventually you will be dead and have no afterlife.
I "choose" to believe it because it makes sense. Apologetics have been used for ages. It's become popularized for the sake of the self professed "wise" people who think they're too smart to be saved. They become fools in their closed minded stubbornness. The evidence demands a verdict and you don't help yourself by simply denying it.
@TPerez1021 Concerning your disbelief in evolutional theory....organisms can be grouped by sequence similarity via DNA sequence comparison and the resulting phylogenetic trees are consistent with taxonomy. Scientists had envisioned the paleontological tree of life long before it was CONFIRMED by DNA sequence analysis. Consequently, evolution is one of the most validated theories in all of science.
Nothing in evolution has been "confirmed" in DNA sequence. For 1 thing it's subject to interpretation, for another thing, no one has ever found a way to fit microbes, insects, plants, and animals into a complete "tree of life" diagram. Because they're are all distinctly designed creatures. DNA is irrefutable evidence against evolution. All we see is de-evolution. That fits the Biblical model perfectly.
@TPerez1021 Atomic Theory, Theory of Matter and Energy, Cell Theory, Germ Theory, Theory of Plate Tectonics, Theory of Evolution, Theory of Quantum Mechanics, Theory of Relativity, Theory of Light Energy, Theory of Electromagnetism, Theory of Radioactivity, Theory of Molecular Bonds, Theory of Homeostasis, Theory of Gravity, etc..
These are all theories also...but only evolution and the Big Bang are disputed. The reason is because they conflict with a 2,000 year old holy book.
Evolution and the big bang theory are disputed because they aren't observable. The big bang also supports theism. It proves the Universe had beginning.
I don't know where you're getting your information from, but it's extremely biased. I highly doubt that you ever give yourself the chance to hear from an opposing worldview. I'm a skeptic too. I was skeptical about Christianity, I'm now more skeptical about naturalism or materialism.
@TPerez1021 Excerpt: James McCarter of Divergence Incorporated states that the work of 2001 Nobel Prize winner Leland Hartwell which has substantial implications for combatting cancer relied heavily on the use of evolutionary knowledge and predictions. McCarter points out that 47 of the last 50 Nobel Prizes in medicine or physiology also depended on the use of EVOLUTIONARY theory.
Scientists don't win Nobel Prizes in medicine and physiology based on a theory that doesn't actually exist.
In a premier science journal called "Nature" a list was made of the most significant scientific findings that happened in 2011. Only one of them had anything to do with evolution. It also a disputed finding "Australopithecus sediba"
It's forcing evolutionists to change there timescale for human evolution.
But that argument is irrelevant, though it's interesting, it has nothing to do as proving whether evolution is true or not. So is yours
You say Christians want everyone to live according to their rules. Are you still in the dark ages? I don't know any group of people as outspoken and preachy as atheists. We can't even pray in schools or bring bibles into a hospital anymore. But we really try forcing others to live to our rules...
That's non sense
I have the sensibility to know that I could be wrong too. But just like you I believe that I'm right. Only, if I'm wrong I won't be facing a tragedy.
@TPerez1021 The Dark Ages existed because of Christianity and Catholicism. We're are nowhere near as preachy as you guys. You're just afraid because we have decided to use social media to express ourselves and you can't handle it. We've been dealing with your hypocritical point of view for centuries and are now speaking out and more people are realizing the fallacies of religion and the contradictions that make up Christianity.
Why don't you reread your statement. You're nowhere near as preachy but you're using youtube and other means of social media to be preachy and speak out against us. The dark ages had several scientific advancements.
Mao Tze Tong, Paul Pot, and Joseph Stahlin were atheists. That doesn't mean that atheists promote being dirty and being violent does it?
@TPerez1021 Of course I'll speak out against you. I've had to deal with Christian crap thrown in my face since I was a kid. Don't like the taste of your own medicine? Tough shit. The Dark Ages did have some scientific advancements because some got sick and tired of tyrannical oppression from the church that they began to question it. If they were caught, they were killed. Science has done more to advance human kind in last 100 years than the church has in 2000 years.
Lol, and you don't think I've had atheist nonsense thrown in mine? Of course I have, but I don't go around condemning them for it. Even though they don't believe in what I think is obvious I understand they have reasons to believe what they do. Yes that was from the catholic church. That's all based on tradition not on Biblical teachings. Again, people who follow the teachings of Jesus wouldn't be involved in such tyranny. It's a classic case of man contradicting GOD's word
You just keep generalizing too. There's just a lot of elephant hurling in your arguments. I'd rather not assume that you are THAT close minded but you're really making yourself seem that way. You seem knowledgeable but you should understand that truth isn't measured by mass appeal. I'm not the entire Christian community just a Christian individual. You're wrong for assuming we're all the same. I know the church's history and I know that most Christians don't act accordingly
The bible doesn't contradict itself. People contradict the bible. Christians contradict themselves. Why don't you look up the fallacies in atheism and common ancestry?
Honestly study it. EVERYTHING from age dating to evolution to religion about origins is based on assumptions.
More people are being influenced by stupidity in the media everyday. It goes hand in hand with people trying to prove something when they can't
@TPerez1021 The Bible does contradict itself. The whole "Thou shalt not kill" kind of goes against god commanding his people to kill whoever does not believe in him and to kill those who would try to bring the teachings of a different god into their lives. "Honour thy mother and thy father." Not much honour in a man who can sell his daughter as a slave to another man, is there. God is fine with these things. Are you? I would hope not.
GOD is not fine with these things. Idolatry is a sin and the wages of sin is death. The Old testament is riddled with punishment for original sin. Of course the father punishes the children. By the time every sin was committed Jesus had to die for everyone's sin. Before Him and after. So he paid the wages for everyone's sin. The OT teaches the feeling of GOD toward sin. He hates it
@neurotyrant I just want to point out: murder and war kills are entierly different; from your point of view, it's conclusive that the law against murder in the U.S. is applicable to U.S. soldiers (I'm using an example), and therefore we must avoid killing (wouldn't that let us interrogate the enemy, though?) terrorists and the like, even if to defend the country (against WHAT? Al-qaeda's DEAD).
@TPerez1021 Also, you have contradicted yourself with this statement. Your wanting to prey in public schools shows that you are wanting people to live your way. How would you feel if Muslims did the same thing in the same class as you? You and the entire Christian community would be shitting bricks. Look how they reacted to proposed construction of a mosque in Manhattan. They all acted like bigots.
I don't care if anyone prays in front of me. Be it Muslim, Christian, or Buddhist. Unlike you, I'd rather not generalize and say that every atheist hates prayer passionately. I'm also indifferent about where people want to worship.
But how many of those "bigots" do you think were atheist?
Most of the outspoken people I've heard speaking against it were indeed, atheist.
All saying it would bring hatred of other religions
@TPerez1021 You sound more like a moderate than a fundamentalist so I'll give you that. Of course atheists were upset over a proposed mosque being built at Ground Zero. Atheists are against all religion and in our eyes, it was religion that sent the towers crumbling down not the lack thereof. And, yes the Christian community were very up front on how much they did not want a mosque built in that area because the US is a Christian nation. Wrong!
I do agree that religion is dangerous. That's true. People use it as an excuse for violence and non-sense, Even the atheist uses the beliefs of another to persecute them and promote violence against them. Especially against Christians. But do you really believe that if everyone were to behave the way Christ taught to behave people would be violent?
No, that goes against the teachings of Jesus. You would know that if you did read the Bible
@TPerez1021 Okay, this is the run-down: no religion (unless specifically stated so) downplays another religion. It's the MEMBERS of these religions that hurt each other; in the end, we have a bunch of Holy books laying around with no one to read them. That's what happens when we try to prove each other WRONG, as such with this very argument.
That's actually the point I was trying to make about individuals.
"But sanctify Christ as Lord in your Hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence." 1 Peter 3:15
@TPerez1021 You quoted Peter 3:15 but inadvertantly neglected to mention these verses:
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. Numbers 31:17-18
“Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.” (Jesus speaking) (Matthew 15:4)
Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death. (Exodus 31:15)
Should I tell you the verses you forgot to mention?
If you really want to, we can get into a debate about Bible verses. Just message me personally. This topic is far too broad for these small comment boxes. I don't like having to respond in so many boxes
@TPerez1021 You asked me to message you personally to continue this debate. I have no wish to "hide" our comments...my target audience is actually for religious advocates who are "on the fence" in relation to their beliefs and peruse these comment sections.
You also asked "Should I tell you the verses you forgot to mention?"
I already realize that the Old Testament is filled with a veritable plethora of bloodthirsty verses. We can discuss more of them if you like.
You have to understand what was meant by those verses for when they were said. If you're so confident in your beliefs then you should be using facts and encouraging others to look into the evidence themselves.
Just taking someone else's word for anything just because they have a big vocabulary or a title only expresses a weak will or a low IQ.
The Bible justifies itself, I recommend reading it as an individual rather than pulling favored verses out.
I can make a valid defense myself. But I'd rather do so in a private message. Having to look for your specific comments and then having to limit my response is frankly not worth my time or effort. I just encourage your "target audience" to look into the subject for themselves.
Any studying, learned Christian would tell you that they believe the evidence supports their faith. It isn't just blind faith. The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. If you believe that, you wouldn't believe anything. Faith is required for every belief, from common ancestry to Christianity.
And the foundation of knowledge is faith. You get the world view before the knowledge, not the other way around. If that were the case we'd all believe the same thing.
@neurotyrant It seems I must EDUCATE you people on Christianity. Christianity does NOT preach that the Holy Law (if that even exists anymore) should be forced on others; it's about ALLOWING others to CHOOSE to obey it. If they don't, that's their problem and the subject should be dropped immediately, unless the situation is dire (not by opinion).
As for evidence: We never claimed to have evidence, need it (although I'd like it) or deny any.
@TPerez1021 Then you're not following the Word; the team name is under God, not our reaction to people such as these. Please keep this in mind: your goal as a Follower is not to charge, but to be taken under charge.
I never did charge. Of course I believe we should be tolerant. Not to accept the views of others, but to let them have their own. Let the truth be known through positive influence, "gentleness, and reverence"
@Swackers90 You are quite the dumb ass cuz everything I said is in the bible you need to go read the bible cuz it's obviously you don't read revelations then reply me wit yo dumb ass.
@shamirmartian LIES LIES LIES LIES!!! im not listening to you anymore because you are fooled by the teachings of misguided men. btw, i did read revelations, 100's of times.
@Swackers90 my teachings come from the word of God which is the Bible and everything i said it's in the Bible so if you calling the word of God lies then you are an idiot and you have been fooled by satan and deceived so that's makes you dumb and retarted and a lost soul.
@Swackers90 duh the rapture is one which takes place before the shit hits the fan then second one will take place when the tribulation period is over and everybody left on earth who is still alive and the dead will be resurrected i never said it was three so i dnt know what u talkin bout u need to read your bible and slow
@shamirmartian You're being a hybrid about this; never, and I mean NEVER insult someone because of their views; this DIRECTLY contradicts that all-famous quote from Yeshuah Himself, "Love your neighbor". And if you don't know who that is, read on.
You must never (not to rule you or anything) use the Word to harm others in their statements or beliefs; the only way you can use it is to back up your own statements if they are factual. Anything outside of that...you're on your own.
@Swackers90 no it's not you idiot it's called the rapture read your bible only 144,000 people will be saved from the tribulation and the rest will be left behind. This is real and it will take place soon.
@shamirmartian i don't feel like arguing with someone who has been indoctrinated with lies, i suggest YOU read you're bible properly. i have and there is NO second chance.
@HatsuneMikufied there is no 2nd chance, once Christ comes back, that's it,
"With the breath of his lips He shall slay the wicked." (Isaiah 11:4). "When the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God." (2 Thessalonians 1:7, 8.) "Let the wicked perish at the presence of God." (Psalms 68:2). "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished." (Revelation 20:5).
@Swackers90 Yes, ONCE He comes back. Until then, we're pretty much set. And, at least according to these films (well, the books anyhow; they never finished the film series, if I'm not mistaken), even those AFTER the Final Rapture (or whatever it's called) are still granted 100 years of life (I forget where they pulled that from; read the very last book (no, not Glorious Appearing)). I'd call that many more than 02 chances.
Here is a fantastic music video that the Christian world will love! It's called "Don't forget about the walk." It was written and created by a small town pastor that is also making a feature film and has written four books. You don't want to miss it! You can go to his website by going to alanmakimusicDOTcom or search for Alan Maki on youtube. It would only take a second to look and I promise you wouldn't be let down. Look him up! He has wonderful devotionals and an app too!
This reminds me why I love the Bible. I must admit, however, that I'm a greater fan of the Old Testament, because it's more akin to the classic tragedy of ancient Greece. The mythology of the New Testament just isn't as appealing.
The whole idea of the "Left Behind" series comes from Mt.24:36-41, and Lk.17:34-37. And if one reads those passages in context, one will see that it is NOT the righteous who are "taken", and the unregenerate who are "left [behind]". Rather, it is the complete opposite of this: the wicked are "taken" to destruction, and the righteous are "left [behind]". *Remember, there is no such teaching of a 7-yr. period of tribulation found in Scripture; it's an abuse of Dan.9:24-27!
@pharyngealized Christian, although it doesn't have any one thing in particular. The writers can say whatever thay want; this by no means is limited to religion.
[mwboscan] Hey guys, guess what!? I am in very big trouble with the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY for I made an ignorant jesture about Christ not being real! I am guilty of not reading my Bible and giving my opinions. People, please, pray for me so that I may be led to Christ. Maybe a saved buddy of mine can make in impact on me! Pray for it!!!! :D:D:D:D
@TheGrowingLight Never fear Mr. Light. You are going to be just fine. Since you are skeptical of the existence of christ, and you aren't wasting your time reading the bible, you are free to read useful books. Once you're out of earshot of theists and THEIR opinions, you can take proactive, meaningful steps to a better life. And anyone who has one of those doesn't have to ache for a non-existent god to come subtract them the Earth. We atheists would love to see that equation, but it won't happen.
@thalohalo hahaha my statement was to mwbowscan comment. Brother, I am a saved Christian and love the LORD. Atheism isn't the way to go, friend. I've seen some of Penn Jillette and the understanding of atheism and I am baffled. SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND, BROTHERMAN!! If you havn't sought for the LORD, but stating an opinion of GOD being non-existant, than that's unfair to Him. Bible is full of wisdom, truth, and prophecy "scoffers in those days" HEAR WHAT IM SAYING??! C'MON JESUS!!!
@TheGrowingLight You're saying atheism isn't the way to go because Penn and Jillette 'baffle' you? Right...much easier then to make up a destination and then pretend you found it. I once called myself a christian and remember well that the bible is a damn sight more baffling than Messrs Penn and Jillette. I sought, and all I found were heaps of inconsistency and jibberish. But I do appreciate your liberal use of the word 'brother.' I can almost image you as a cool hippy than a bible-thumper.
@thalohalo HAHAHA BROHAMAGE, IM NO HIPPY. I say Penn because he's somewhat known. I've known other atheist and they're reason for not believe, well they're reasons were because they don't understand the Bible, prayers were not answer the next day, too incomprehensible. :O Once a Christian!? Why the apostasy?? Hey, friend....lets go. I help you stand you know HAHA I help you understand that baffling Book!!!....i see where people may have trouble with understanding the WORD. The Devil's @ work!
@TheGrowingLight Okay, so...as a Christian troller...Let me get this straight: You...DON'T believe in Christ...yet...you...WANT(?) to be Saved? By a God you DON'T believe in, correct? Uh... And, ah, your opinions REJECT Christ, and you seek...WHAT, exactly?
Good news everyone.....the rapture isn't going to happen after all.Turns out Jebus never really existed....just a retelling of the life of a Persian God named Mithra who lived 500 years before Christ.Put the name Mithra in the search feature and read about the original Jebus Christ'.
Does Matthew 25:31-46 sound like a "rapture" to you? How about Revelation 14?
And Matthew 13:24-30 and 36-43? NO! Add Genesis 49:10 What do you get?
A - G A T H E R I N G! Revelation and Isaiah and Micah (please read them ) tell us Christ will rule on this earth. His kingdom will be HERE for a 1000 years.
Then (and only then) will the worthy be given the morning star (Revelation, again). Then that 1 verse in Thes. applies. NO RAPTURE IS TAUGHT IN THE BIBLE. Avoid the "blind guides".
believe what you want to but imo ALL organized religions are reservoirs for fools and madmen.

DONALDODAVISINI 1 month ago
@DONALDODAVISINI I'll tell you what it is: LITERTURE, buddy. If you're going to be that way about it, then we don't even have the right to pray to Yeshuah.
What I'm getting at is that there isn't anything wrong with portraying what "might happen". Do you recall that what He said in the final (actually, there was one more book after "Glorious Appearing") was mostly completely quoted from the Bible? None of this wasn't already said before.
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago
@HatsuneMikufied what about when the Bible says not to portray any Heavenly images
how are two writers going to come up with what Jesus "might" say? Since when is it ok to take Scripture and fit into a fairy tale? And the fact they made millions of dollars off the Word of God (buy or sell mark of the beast sound familiar?) where is the rapture mentioned in the Bible anyway? A lie told 1000 times doesn't make it the truth ckeck yourself b4 it's 2 late....
DONALDODAVISINI 3 weeks ago
@DONALDODAVISINI ...I'm disturbed by your misunderstanding. I'm not sure how purchasing a book is a permanent "mark". Besides, how would the number (666, or 616, depending on the version) fit into that?
Consider this for a moment, if you please: Paul lived long after the Ascention. In multiple Books (some really don't need to be there), Paul directly quotes Yeshuah. Even more true with the Gospels; none were written BY Yeshuah; only about Him.

REV7verse9 2 months ago
@REV7verse9 This movie was universally panned by the critics and is also in several "worst movie" lists. The rapture/tribulation is just one of many biblical fairy tale absurdities. Christianity is an fraudulent, objectionable belief system that has no place in minds of moral, rational,critically thinking people.
sweetsweatyfeet 2 months ago
@sweetsweatyfeet I tell you my friend...you are not the only critical thinker. I testify to you that God is real. I have spoken with Jesus in visions. Jesus is coming back to collect his people. Anybody with a heartbeat can be forgiven. I pray that your eyes be opened to the truth.

19nisey69 1 day ago
@REV7verse9 I looked over your comment. I feel that there are better ways to be "convincing" of such things (not to say that that is the goal here, but what the hey).
What I say to this (the comment you are commenting upon) is that a simple lack of evidence does not constitute (sorry) a lack of reality. Consider emotion; does it exist? We certainly feel it. But how do we know, scientifically, that it's there? Much the same with God.
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago

So to show them how much I love them, I'm going to let them torture you until you die a horrible, painful, sadistic death." "BUT, BUT!" "Don't worry, my son. @TPerez1021 Take a look at the world around you. Do you honestly think something like that would make any difference at all? Also, no, I'm not bitter. I'm also not a sucker. neurotyrant 1 month ago
@neurotyrant
Yeah. It has made a difference. If you choose to be blind you refuse help. Anybody can say they've read the Bible. You give me absolutely no reason to believe you. @TPerez1021 Arrogant? Arrogant in the way that all others have to live by your rules? Arrogant because I have the sensibility to understand that what I believe could be wrong? Arrogant in that I don't subscribe fully to something that relies wholly on faith?Yeah, I'm arrogant
neurotyrant 1 month ago
@neurotyrant
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@TPerez1021 If it yells creation then it's a quite yell because I can't hear a damn thing from this "creation" you speak of. Christians don't use subjective evidence. They use the bible which has absolutely zero scientific merit.
neurotyrant 1 month ago
@neurotyrant What's funny is if you actually read the bible, you would see subjective evidence that it is infact true. I feel sorry that you feel that way. Your being led into a dark path which infact is not the way that people should be living.

@neurotyrant These are all OLD TESTAMENT. Mind that Christianity is mainly (but not only) the NEW TESTAMENT. But in regards to Ex. 21:07-11: This covers the CIRCUMSTANCES by which the girl would be treated; this by no, and I mean NO means says that this is allowed. Tell me where it says otherwise. And I'm not even that gung-ho on religion. (A lie.)
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago
@neurotyrant
You are absolutely wrong in saying the Bible has no scientific merit. Yes, the father's of science were inspired by the Bible to look into GOD's creation. Science has also been many years behind the Bible in several scientific findings. Aside from this most scientists don't reject the Bible for scientific reasons. They do it because they don't want to upset the science community applecart which indeed does have an a priori determination to contradict any evidence supporting it
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@TPerez1021Inspired because they knew there was more than meets the eye. If the Bible is a book of science, which it isn't, then science would have no reason to disprove it, which it does. It's because of religion that we've only come so far. To question "Gods" creation under church rule would either have you imprisoned, tortured or killed. Science can easily disprove many of the Bibles "prophecies" and is only a matter of time until science renders the Bible totally useless.
neurotyrant 1 month ago
@neurotyrant
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@neurotyrant
Scientists are regular people just like you and I. I promise you, if you look into the writings that come directly from the scientists you would learn just how biased they are. They all have beliefs that require faith for their assumptions
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@TPerez1021 If you're going to be THAT way about it, explain quantum mechanics; I haven't studied much, but apparently everything is information. Assuming that this is the same concept of "info" that we find in computers (although obviously different), it would take equal if not even more faith to believe this. (Of course, I buy it instantly, but that's because of my faith in God as well; I'm a sci/Christ guy.)
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago
@HatsuneMikufied Also, despite the EXISTANCE of fact in science, it still takes the FAITH in the facts for one to be CONVINCED that reality is, in fact, real. The same is so with the LACK of evidence; you have to have FAITH that despite a LACK in the facts, that something can still be real; science has yet to show us ALL that is observable, you know. Who knows? (I know this is going to become famous.) Might invent a lens to see God.
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago
@HatsuneMikufied

TPerez1021 3 weeks ago
@TPerez1021 You also said "Christianity bases faith on evidence."
The definition of *faith* is: Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence.
So, obviously, Christianity cannot possibly base *faith* on evidence.
Lastly, evolutional theory completely disproves the myth of Creation. No Creation = No original sin = No need for Yahweh/Jesus' malodorous cloud of self-sacrificing effluvium.
Christianity's foundation disintegrates.
CynicalSkeptic1 3 weeks ago
@CynicalSkeptic1
TPerez1021 2 weeks ago
@TPerez1021 You also said "It is based on evidence, evidence for the life of Jesus, and his resurrection."
There is no evidence for Jesus' resurrection. That's why you have to use *faith*. The only accounts of any resurrections of any kind are in ancient holy books. The Bible has so many contradictions and inaccuracies that it can hardly be considered a valid representation of history. There has NEVER been any empirical evidence substantiating the validity of resurrections.
CynicalSkeptic1 2 weeks ago
@CynicalSkeptic1
You're absolutely wrong about that. It's documented in history. Even in documents outside of the Bible. Those "contradictions and inaccuracies" are all shot down with understanding and reasoning. And asking for empirical evidence for it... That's rather silly. Your own statement lacks empirical evidence
TPerez1021 1 week ago
@TPerez1021 And that's why they invented apologetics. So even the dopes would have more BS to back up the stupidity with more stupidity. You only choose to believe this garbage to feed yuor ego, which can't handle the idea that eventually you will be dead and have no afterlife.
19nisey69 1 day ago
@19nisey69
TPerez1021 18 hours ago
@CynicalSkeptic1
I think the entire foundation of your argument disintegrates under reasoning and evidence.
I think, therefore I'm Christian.
TPerez1021 2 weeks ago
@TPerez1021 Concerning your disbelief in evolutional theory....organisms can be grouped by sequence similarity via DNA sequence comparison and the resulting phylogenetic trees are consistent with taxonomy. Scientists had envisioned the paleontological tree of life long before it was CONFIRMED by DNA sequence analysis. Consequently, evolution is one of the most validated theories in all of science.
CynicalSkeptic1 2 weeks ago
@CynicalSkeptic1

Scientists don't win Nobel Prizes in medicine and physiology based on a theory that doesn't actually exist.

More people are being influenced by stupidity in the media everyday. It goes hand in hand with people trying to prove something when they can't
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@TPerez1021 The Bible does contradict itself. The whole "Thou shalt not kill" kind of goes against god commanding his people to kill whoever does not believe in him and to kill those who would try to bring the teachings of a different god into their lives. "Honour thy mother and thy father." Not much honour in a man who can sell his daughter as a slave to another man, is there. God is fine with these things. Are you? I would hope not.
neurotyrant 1 month ago
@neurotyrant
He hates it
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@neurotyrant I just want to point out: murder and war kills are entierly different; from your point of view, it's conclusive that the law against murder in the U.S. is applicable to U.S. soldiers (I'm using an example), and therefore we must avoid killing (wouldn't that let us interrogate the enemy, though?) terrorists and the like, even if to defend the country (against WHAT? Al-qaeda's DEAD).
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago
@TPerez1021 Also, you have contradicted yourself with this statement. Your wanting to prey in public schools shows that you are wanting people to live your way. How would you feel if Muslims did the same thing in the same class as you? You and the entire Christian community would be shitting bricks. Look how they reacted to proposed construction of a mosque in Manhattan. They all acted like bigots.
neurotyrant 1 month ago
@neurotyrant
Nope, you're just willingly ignorant.
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@TPerez1021 You sound more like a moderate than a fundamentalist so I'll give you that. Of course atheists were upset over a proposed mosque being built at Ground Zero. Atheists are against all religion and in our eyes, it was religion that sent the towers crumbling down not the lack thereof. And, yes the Christian community were very up front on how much they did not want a mosque built in that area because the US is a Christian nation. Wrong!
neurotyrant 1 month ago
@neurotyrant
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@TPerez1021 Okay, this is the run-down: no religion (unless specifically stated so) downplays another religion. It's the MEMBERS of these religions that hurt each other; in the end, we have a bunch of Holy books laying around with no one to read them. That's what happens when we try to prove each other WRONG, as such with this very argument.
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago
@HatsuneMikufied
That's actually the point I was trying to make about individuals.
"But sanctify Christ as Lord in your Hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence." 1 Peter 3:15
TPerez1021 3 weeks ago
@TPerez1021 You quoted Peter 3:15 but inadvertantly neglected to mention these verses:
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. Numbers 31:17-18
“Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.” (Jesus speaking) (Matthew 15:4)
Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death. (Exodus 31:15)
CynicalSkeptic1 3 weeks ago
@CynicalSkeptic1
Should I tell you the verses you forgot to mention?
If you really want to, we can get into a debate about Bible verses. Just message me personally. This topic is far too broad for these small comment boxes. I don't like having to respond in so many boxes
TPerez1021 2 weeks ago
@TPerez1021 You asked me to message you personally to continue this debate. I have no wish to "hide" our comments...my target audience is actually for religious advocates who are "on the fence" in relation to their beliefs and peruse these comment sections.
You also asked "Should I tell you the verses you forgot to mention?"
I already realize that the Old Testament is filled with a veritable plethora of bloodthirsty verses. We can discuss more of them if you like.
CynicalSkeptic1 2 weeks ago
@CynicalSkeptic1
TPerez1021 1 week ago
@CynicalSkeptic1
I can make a valid defense myself. But I'd rather do so in a private message. Having to look for your specific comments and then having to limit my response is frankly not worth my time or effort. I just encourage your "target audience" to look into the subject for themselves.
TPerez1021 1 week ago
@neurotyrant
Any studying, learned Christian would tell you that they believe the evidence supports their faith. It isn't just blind faith. The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. If you believe that, you wouldn't believe anything. Faith is required for every belief, from common ancestry to Christianity.
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@TPerez1021 It's called faith because it's not knowledge.
neurotyrant 1 month ago
@neurotyrant
And the foundation of knowledge is faith. You get the world view before the knowledge, not the other way around. If that were the case we'd all believe the same thing.
TPerez1021 1 month ago
@neurotyrant It seems I must EDUCATE you people on Christianity. Christianity does NOT preach that the Holy Law (if that even exists anymore) should be forced on others; it's about ALLOWING others to CHOOSE to obey it. If they don't, that's their problem and the subject should be dropped immediately, unless the situation is dire (not by opinion).
As for evidence: We never claimed to have evidence, need it (although I'd like it) or deny any.
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago
@TPerez1021 Then you're not following the Word; the team name is under God, not our reaction to people such as these. Please keep this in mind: your goal as a Follower is not to charge, but to be taken under charge.
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago
@HatsuneMikufied
I never did charge. Of course I believe we should be tolerant. Not to accept the views of others, but to let them have their own. Let the truth be known through positive influence, "gentleness, and reverence"

@Swackers90 my teachings come from the word of God which is the Bible and everything i said it's in the Bible so if you calling the word of God lies then you are an idiot and you have been fooled by satan and deceived so that's makes you dumb and retarted and a lost soul.

This movie is full of lies from Satan.
Swackers90 2 months ago
@Swackers90 no it's not you idiot it's called the rapture read your bible only 144,000 people will be saved from the tribulation and the rest will be left behind. This is real and it will take place soon.

@shamirmartian i don't feel like arguing with someone who has been indoctrinated with lies, i suggest YOU read you're bible properly. i have and there is NO second chance.
Swackers90 2 months ago
@Swackers90 ...Is a God of second chances. Never say there isn't more than one chance; you can see this even without religion.
HatsuneMikufied 3 weeks ago
@HatsuneMikufied there is no 2nd chance, once Christ comes back, that's it,
"With the breath of his lips He shall slay the wicked." (Isaiah 11:4). "When the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God." (2 Thessalonians 1:7, 8.) "Let the wicked perish at the presence of God." (Psalms 68:2). "But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished." (Revelation 20:5).
Swackers90 3 weeks ago

Serotrance 3 months ago
The whole idea of the "Left Behind" series comes from Mt.24:36-41, and Lk.17:34-37. And if one reads those passages in context, one will see that it is NOT the righteous who are "taken", and the unregenerate who are "left [behind]". Rather, it is the complete opposite of this: the wicked are "taken" to destruction, and the righteous are "left [behind]". *Remember, there is no such teaching of a 7-yr. period of tribulation found in Scripture; it's an abuse of Dan.9:24-27!

TheGrowingLight 3 months ago
@TheGrowingLight Never fear Mr. Light. You are going to be just fine. Since you are skeptical of the existence of christ, and you aren't wasting your time reading the bible, you are free to read useful books. Once you're out of earshot of theists and THEIR opinions, you can take proactive, meaningful steps to a better life. And anyone who has one of those doesn't have to ache for a non-existent god to come subtract them the Earth. We atheists would love to see that equation, but it won't happen.
thalohalo 3 months ago
TheGrowingLight 3 months ago
@TheGrowingLight You're saying atheism isn't the way to go because Penn and Jillette 'baffle' you? Right...much easier then to make up a destination and then pretend you found it. I once called myself a christian and remember well that the bible is a damn sight more baffling than Messrs Penn and Jillette. I sought, and all I found were heaps of inconsistency and jibberish. But I do appreciate your liberal use of the word 'brother.' I can almost image you as a cool hippy than a bible-thumper.
thalohalo 3 months ago
@thalohalo HAHAHA BROHAMAGE, IM NO HIPPY. I say Penn because he's somewhat known. I've known other atheist and they're reason for not believe, well they're reasons were because they don't understand the Bible, prayers were not answer the next day, too incomprehensible. :O Once a Christian!? Why the apostasy?? Hey, friend....lets go. I help you stand you know HAHA I help you understand that baffling Book!!!....i see where people may have trouble with understanding the WORD. The Devil's @ work!
