  • This was on The Goods.

It's now stuck in my head. Great song, though.

  • Why can't the shitty music industry put out enjoyable tunes with a strong melody like this anymore? People need to stop spending their money on total garbage so the industry is forced to produce higher quality material.

  • Great post! I agree 100%, most of the crap out there really sucks.

  • This was on Squidbillies lol.

    Good song though.

  • So do the thieves on Wall Street. Insider trading is for wimps---Derivatives is where its at baby!!!!!!

  • I haven't heard this song in sooooooo long... LOVE IT!!! :)

  • Anyone else think our protagonist looks alot like Kevin McHale?? I know it's not him, but it'd be sweetly ironic considering he's an 80's icon, in a classic 80's video right?

  • McHale? Isn't that the guy from NBC's Community?

  • Comment removed

  • No, that's a young actor with the same name. The Kevin McHale I'm referring to is famous for playing on the Boston Celtics with Larry Bird in the 80's. If you google the name, his Wikipedia entry will show up right away.

  • Gotcha!

  • God, I'm old, but I miss the days when I went dancing to cover band doing this and concerts, one of the best. I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd the year some of them were killed. Southern rock is the best !!

  • fantastic

  • so caught up in the 80's great video

  • I think it's him in the hat playing guitar.

  • @caterpillero that was ronnie's little brother donnie, who also play's in the band van zant with the other brother, johnny.

  • Comment removed

  • Nice video.

  • This song is great, but the video is friggin awesome!, my favorite part is when the two arm wrestlers break the table then high five each other, Epic!.

  • Yeah its all the fuckin' sweet. I don't really like metal though it's just so mindless. . .

  • Cool guitars! Real style

  • my ma dated the drummer back in the day :D

  • Which one?

  • the 1st one, jack.

  • are you a product of this?

  • I love you Samantha <3

  • Classic song from a classic band! Southern rock was incredible in 1970s and early 1980s. I actually prefer back were you belong.

  • Nah, the best is Hold On Loosely.

But I <3 all of them...

They are still really good live too.

  • wow, my parents told me they saw this band live n had backstage passes and got drunk with the band, and they have pictures they showed me to proove it.

  • This video tells you everything you need to know about what .38 Special likes....chicks, beer, bars, fat southern bumpkins, arcade games, and most of all arm wrestling that ends in broken tables and high fives... freakin rock and roll

  • hahaha the chick in this video is such a slut

  • Very, very cool song! God, I am crazy about this one, but this video is so lame! lol

  • Meh...80's. What can you say.

  • the dual drumming is fucking great

  • LOL everyone thinks the music from their era is the shit. This is not any more special or awesome than the better bands from today. Even if the charted bands are sub-par you can always find super amazing music in the underground.

I mean, heck, the 80's saw massive amounts of crappy musical output. Music is good all through history, it's just perhaps appreciated differently by different people.

  • Yeah, you're definitely right... the 13 year old kid 2 spaces below yours is definitely from the 80's.. hahahaha.. go to math class... hahaha.. and the other 2 kids, are from the 80's also... they just got back from a time warp.... sorry man.. couldn't help it...

hahaha.. .Well, if you don't like the music, you don't have to listen... I dig you though.. most people say the music from their Genre was the best... But, this music from the 80s really is the best! hahahaha

  • wow... totally true

  • it's funny how you think your opinion is gonna teach people something and make you look smart. you probably listen to emo. im still in my twenties, and grew up hating songs like this. older music is great you idiot. when it went digital, 99% of it went gay. like what you listen to. i bet you like nsync. loser.

  • punchintheface Todays all music is all crap, good things kids like you listen my days and beyond, keep on rocking broheim

  • Im only 13 here, and i think .38 Special ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Respect the classics, and never forget them! The CRAP we hear today SUCKS. Anybody can write a song saying you can "Boom Boom Pow" But really....WHO CARES!!!! LONG LIVE .38 SPECIAL

  • I was born in the wrong damn era.

  • I can't wait to see 38 again, I also videotaped 2 live songs of them, if ya have the time check them out. "38 SPECIAL ROCKS"

  • lfleetwood71 We're in the same generation I got 2 years on ya, rock on...I'm still kicking it oldschool with my records, 8 tracks and tapes, blasting, I'm teaching these punks what was good music, thats 50's through the 80's rock on in the past., i know i still will.

  • hell ya man

  • "rap was started by blondie"

    Joke.

  • Now this is true rock n roll.they say history repeats itself lord i hope so i can be 90 years old and,ill still be rocking to groups like this and any other 80s rock and metal. And some good ole jacky d and some smoke!!!!

  • TheBLAKKROZE

lfleetwood71 hey man born in 69 here, todays generation doesn't know about what good music is, this crap today they play is pathethic makes me laugh, wonder why im still stuck in the past. anyways rock on keep on rocking broheim

Cyber99chicken I am from the time, thats good kids like listen to my time of music

  • Yeah me to i make my boyfriend keep his hair long still and he's 44. We both were born in the same generation me i was born in 71 and he was in 65. He said growing up for him was a blast good booze and women and kick-ass rock. We are both glad to be able to show our punk neighbors what real rock is when they try to jam to that rap or crap as we all know it by, and now they are listening to 80s music like 38 Special.

  • Only 16 here Jason. Been playing and listening to music from the 60's to the 90's since I was about 10. Theres still some good ones growing up out there believe it or not :)

  • heh, i love the mong reference!!!

  • hey I agree with you that punk ass doesnt know shit Im 17 years old and i listen too classic rock more than i listen too new shit because the new rock is gay as fuck and rap was started by blondie

  • You tell them how it is. I agree with you i done lots of partying in the 80s and the music was kick-ass .What is true about todays rock is that it is shit.C'mon it's like you said it's gay.If the rockers of today took notes from these guys and other rockers from then they would be awesome but, what do you they do is continue sing crap.

  • iDntGivaPhuk ( Your ill informed, this isn't old people music, 50's 60's is old you mong, your just a kid, you don't know what good music is, your music this rap crap is crap, any music from this genertion is sucks, you people act black when your white thats pathethic, no wonder as your say us old people come on listen our music from our time and remember it was good olddays, 50's though the 80's is the best era,

  • Comment removed

  • i dont care if ppl make fun of me for LOVING classic rock at least i can hear the lyrics of the songs i listen 2 lol

  • LOL at the "old people music" comment. It used to be young people music at one time. LOL!!! The crap you're listening to now will be "old people music" one day, and your kids will make fun of YOU for it.

  • My first and only brush with rock video fame at 3:02!

  • rofl, nice giant.

  • renee..i was so caught up in the thought and ideal of making you mine...it didnt work out like that, which is still killing me and making it hard 4 me to move on, like you did..but thanx for what you did to, for and with me and how you changed my mind, conscience and the way i perceived a relationship again...if it would have worked out for us, i could have never let you go..i miss and love you honey...pete..x0..good luck sweetie........

  • memories of 1982 - great song and love seeing this video - damn long time ago!

  • man fuck old people music..but this song is badass

  • If that old people music wasn't playing some of the greatest people in the world would have never been born. The people that changed Rock and Roll would have never have come and you would have nothing but the mundane crap on the radio you have today. Music today is crap. there is no feeling in it anymore and it is far from original! it is all now written by studio executives and theres no heart in it anymore. and the talent is talentless.

  • RENEE..I WAS SO CAUGHT UP IN YOU, AND ITS SOOOOO HARD TO LET MY FEELINGS FOR YOU GO, I DONT THINK I CAN EVER..BUT I MUST MOVE ON, LIKE YOU HAVE..I WILL ALWAYS LOVE AND MISS YOU AND WONDER WHAT A LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU COULD HAVE BEEN LIKE AND WHAT IF WE WOULD HAVE EVER GOTTEN MARRIED...SCARY, ISNT IT..MISS AND LOVE YOU FOREVER HONEY...pete..x0

  • This song AND EVEN VIDEO are fucking awesome this is the shit.

  • You got to be kidding me Phuk. 00's has hardly any good songs anymore. The reason why you have 00's music is because of them. So you should be thanking them rather than telling them to fuck off. What are you 13 or something?!? Shit man grow up.

  • You are 38 kinds of "special" G of all g's!! :)

  • I never knew either, I'm just stunned!

  • 3rdgenf ur so right !

  • i wish i grew up in the 60s 70s and 80s,im 16 and my generation sucks..music was so much better back then

  • What you speak is nonsense, the 21st century will only end in ruin because OUR generation shall destroy it. As an American you should enjoy your rock and roll heritage, this age of telecommunications, Facebook, and super science shall only lead to ruin. You just wait. We always reep what we sow.

  • It's a classic look, It never goes out!!!!

  • Who's the girl ?

  • The Goods!!!!

  • I never knew this song has a video! I love it!

  • years to come by as many generations of people as possible. I also ment to say forgotten, not forgot in the above comment.

  • I love this song. I always wondered why some TV production company didn't come up with a show where this song could be the theme song. It would fit perfectly as a sitcom theme song. I'm sorry, but every time I hear this song, I think family sitcom, like Family Ties, or Growing Pains, or Full House. In fact this song is used in the New Ellen Page movie Whip it, and it is on the movie soundtrack. This is actually a good thing, it insures that this song is never forgot, and is heard for many..

  • i just saw them live saturday night still sound just as good as always

  • I had to play it again, Amazing song

  • Makes me want to do some blow

  • 80's are the best

  • R.I.P. Ronnie van zant

  • So......the rumor is true.......I was "out 80ed" at a jukebox recently because I actually forgot about this wonderful tune! The worst part of it was.....it was from someone 7 years younger than me. But I thanked them for reminding me of this classic!!!!

  • yeah 38 Special!!!!

  • What great times these were

  • never realized that 38 Special played all these awesome songs.

  • I asked Jeff back in 94 and the guitar was made by a guy who worked at a furniture company in or around Atlanta.

  • the Zants were made to sing

  • I love you Maggy!

  • god i fckin love 38 special!

  • Is that a Gibson Explorer he is playing?Too bad that Jeff Carlisi is no longer in the band. He is a great guitar player!!

  • Are all of you thinking that I was serious really that stupid? People are too literal at times. He is obviously not Bo Bice. What planet are people like you from?

  • This is the freaking internet. You're writing things and we're reading them, there is no emotion involved. We don't know if you're being sarcastic, or if you're joking, unless you say you are in your post. So clarify next time because people can't read your mind jackass.

  • Its my comment, not to you and not to anyone in particular for that matter. Why do you feel the need to comment about my comment, jackass?!

  • Yes it Is!!! I have all the footage of that night !

  • i hate jonas brothers too!!!
