I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Mercedes vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and EFi injectors clean as new!

Dont forget to put 1:100 two stroke Oil API TC into the tank for each fill, because thats good for the carbs and the pistons..modern fuel does not take care of the old engine materials!

An old RS in the wet, what a handful. Driver did a nice job, very smooth, and I suspect his smoothness made it look like he was going a little slower than he really was. Nice video.

I'd love to have that car inside my house so as never to have to drive it yet be able to admire it's beauty and rarity. Perhaps it's different, but I have a bit of experience with a 930 911 Turbo and it was tragic. The gearbox was awful, the interior was awful, steering was rubbish despite the car being fully restored.
My dad owns a 73 RS rolling chassis (currently being restored) but his daily drive is a 1984 930. The 4 speed is good once you get used to it and the steering by modern standards is "rubbish" because it's not power assisted and it's set up to limit under steer and control over steer mechanically, which in those old things wasn't easy engineering.
hahaha....we just had a white Porsche boxter turbo with a brown top, it was the cutest car, but it kinda got crashed a little bit, so we had to get a Porsche Cayenne Turbo...GREAT car by the way love it, we used to buy BMW's but now we are Porsche all the way baby!
My father had a 1973 porsche 911 carrera rs engine ,so my dad bought a standard 911 and swamped the engine bumbper's and had repainted it was black with silver bumpers and a silver stripe unfortunatly it was stole in a parking lot today it would have been worth alot
They also say that the throttle response in that 2.7 is to die for. The horsepower doesn't sound like alot by today's standards, but it was all about the entire driving experience. Plus it was soo light that even still it could hit 60 in just over 5 seconds/
Most knowledgeable car enthusiasts consider this RS to be the greatest all around 911 ever built. That's why you see them go for $250k at auctions while other 911's from that era are going for like 1/4th of that. The feedback and handling in that car are supposed to be unmatched by anyone.
dont go too fast now.... shit man you are the slowest shit driver i have ever wasted time watching. crash into the cliff... would have been more exciting.
That's more than fast enough with a 73 RS in the rain when you drive with some respect for a car that is worth more than life itself. This isn't a 4wd skyline with fat tires!
Brave stuff man, driving this Porsche in the rain around a track requires some gonads!

This clown can't drive to save his life... look at his hands moving on the wheel, very bad form. Poor 911RS having to have a "puttz" on the helm...

it could have been pushed a little more, but i'd neither dare to power up a 911 that expensive on a wet track.

Man this guy does NOT know how to drive that thing. The limits of those RS's are just ridiculously hard to reach.
