  • What kind of rifles are the Japanese using? They kind of look like the Daewoo K2

  • @temperex i think they are "Type 89"

  • @comissar ohhhh thanks :) good looking rifle.

  • The Miari's crew is really fucking up history arent they.

  • @solidsnake2234 LOL, yeah. But i think they kind of changed their plans into saving as many people as possible, rather than trying to keep the history the same which turned out to be impossible.

  • Though a DDG, (Destroyer) the Mirai is more of a frigate with its Aegis system than anything. Which, when compared with WW2 technoglogy, is just about evenly matched.

  • Yamato had 9x 18.1" cannons on three gun mountings, with top range of 42 km i think at 45 degree angle.

They also had plans to make Super yamato class battleship that would have had 4x 20.1" dual cannons and roughly same profile as the Yamato.

  • um... not 2x 20.1in guns, 6x 20.1

  • SALVOって何?

  • 一斉射撃と思います。

  • There isnt a defense system in the world that can intercept a artillery shell, this includes aegis... And the Yamato would be able to take multiple hits from harpoon missiles considering they were designed to hit unarmored warships. They would just bounce off if faced with a 22 inch wall of metal.

  • There is the under testing laser PDS that can take out artillery shells in midair using a high powered laser, heating it up and boom.

  • AEGIS radar system is designed for area defense against IRBM warheads, which have speeds above Mach 10. Muzzle velocities of the main guns are merely Mach 2-3.

  • Here's the kicker though aegis radar CANNOT detect artillery rounds.

  • I think if in this case, Aegis can since the metal from the shells reflect the radar waves back and have diameter of 42 cm, so i think that's more then enough to get a response and reading from the shells.

Smaller shells (maybe 12" or thinner) do not show up on the radar.

  • wouldn't wanna see what happens if USS Missouri would end up in the past :D

That ship carried 100 times more hardware

  • @cr4yv3n It WAS in WWII.

  • @FalconKPD oh yeah...but as far as i know she never saw action.

And her hardware was vastly improved during the years.

    Still..yeah..she was in WW2 :D

  • But yamato can destroy by a tomahawk missile if the target is in the ammo compartment

  • I wish the whole series of the Zipang manga was available in the US.

  • you can search the whole anime on other websites. I did that. one of the best anime I have ever seen, although the end was disappointing.

  • if that story happen in the real life, USA will not be the strongest country in the world nowadays.Other countries such as Russia will not be the second strongest during cold war period.

  • Damn the Yamato is so cool.

  • How many missiles could one Aegis ship have onboard?

  • around 48 to 96 SM-2 Anti-aircraft missiles.

  • the aegis system can shot down 126 aircraft at one and it can only happen on automatic mode but its a surely waste of ammo

  • the background battle music is nice!!! juz like e one from G Gundam: King of Hearts

  • I think that the animators simply didn't know the difference... the SM-2 lights up on the display in the aegis crusier, but they fire sea sparrows... hmm..

  • instead*

  • why didnt they use SM-2 instead of sea sparrow
