this is so sad, i love pitbulls and when i volunteer at the animal shelter, thats the dogs i love to walk. there have been plenty of mean and aggressive dogs there, but not one was a pitbull. there needs to be more people that respect the pitbull the way they are and not make them fight. all they want to do is love and please us.

I am so touched. I love animals so dearly but my only problem is we have so many. A rabbit, 3 cats, and my now only dog. We had to put her down due to age and I felt those tears come down my cheeks from this video as I felt the hours after her death.
i rescued my pit from death row. i never met her until she was delivered to my home.
she was a throw-away mom. i have never been sorry. for the first weeks i spoke to her in whispers and let her come to me raher than approach her. she is a loving and gentle girl.

this is so sad, i love pitbulls and when i volunteer at the animal shelter, thats the dogs i love to walk. there have been plenty of mean and aggressive dogs there, but not one was a pitbull. there needs to be more people that respect the pitbull the way they are and not make them fight. all they want to do is love and please us.

Razors Edge, Watchdog, Blue Hippo, Greyline, Gotti all backyard bloodlines made famous by UKC allowing non breathing piece of shit mutts. Pitbulls do not have natural guard dog abilities. If a pitbull was to guard back when dogmen bred them, they would be instanly killed. Once again standard does not allow over 80

They never should be adopted from a pound they should be put down if they show aggression. Rotts are the same way not anyone can own a rott. They to will attack a weak owner. I am so touched. I love animals so dearly but my only problem is we have so many. A rabbit, 3 cats, and my now only dog. We had to put her down due to age and I felt those tears come down my cheeks from this video as I felt the hours after her death.

she was a throw-away mom. i have never been sorry. for the first weeks i spoke to her in whispers and let her come to me raher than approach her. she is a loving and gentle girl.

@FloridaGatr103 Listen. A 40 by 40 ring. Dogs trained to fight only by command and given love and well taken care of. Vets on site to take care of wounded dogs. Two refs to break the dogs apart. The owners get a white towel to throw if they want there dog out of the fight. The fight stops when a dog gets hurt bad. These simple rules will stop the dogs from dieing and being mistreated and give everyone the fights that they enjoy.

@ConiferTreez Do your homework kid, pitbulls were originally bred as a working dog. A well socialized dog does not LOVE to fight and Dog-men do not treat there dogs like gold, but more like hardware. If a dog refuses to fight they kill the dog. Anyone who has owned one knows this. You look more like a fool with each comment you make.

@mydogstube INcorrect. The American Pit Bull Terrier was bred down from hunting/baiting dogs STRICTLY for the purpose of fighting.
A nice fighting dog is animal-aggressive from the get go. You can't make a dog be dog-aggressive, it's ingrained into their genetics, idiot.
I don't know what dog-men you're referring to. I'm not talking about some nigger or some mexican. The only time a dog-man will cull a dog is if the dog is human-aggressive. If a dog won't fight it becomes a pet.

@ConiferTreez They were bred down from english bull baiters,correct, bred to WORK along side large livestock farmers in Europe.In the 1800's baiting was outlawed so they were THEN used for fighting. But a dog from a respected breeder is not necessarily aggressive towards other animals, and can easily be trained with the right person.

@mydogstube The AMERICAN Pit Bull Terrier was created in AMERICA, hence the name. They were a cross between the Bull & Terrier dogs of the UK & Native American Indian hunting dogs, which were basically mixes of Spanish Alanos & local wolves/pariahs. Where the fuck do you get your information from?
If a breeder of Pit Bulls doesn't breed for gameness, he doesn't have real pit bulldogs. A Pit Bull that won't fight ceases to be a Pit Bull.

I NEVER said wolves were introduced the the breed. The APBT is LITERALLY a cross between a Bull & Terrier dog & a Native Southern American Indian hunting dog, which was a product of Spanish Alanos mating with primitive/indigenous dogs.

@mydogstube once again, you don't have to force them to do anything. They LOVE to fight, they're warriors. You have to force them NOT to fight, that's one of the challenges of keeping them as pets. A nice game pit has more balls in one paw than every man in your entire family.

Read a book on selective breeding, einstein. a GOOD pit bull loves nothing more than to battle other dogs, this is a routinely proven FACT.

@ConiferTreez You are incorrect: The APBT is from a cross of the original bulldog for their strength and the terrier for their gameness; these animals came from England, Ireland, and Scotland. Before the late 1900th century dogs were never named by "breed,” they were merely named by the type of work performed; hence the name “retriever,” "bulldog," etc. Originally, bulldogs were used for bull and bear baiting as it was considered entertainment for royalty.

In fact in England a butcher would be arrested and thrown into jail if he butchered a bull that had not been properly baited by bulldogs first. Dog-fighting and ratting were considered low-class blood sports. When Bear and Bull baiting were outlawed in 1835 dog-fighting gained in popularity. Our breed got the name APBT because many dog fanciers in our country had been selectively breeding the pit bulldog for years in the U.S. in attempts to get the ultimate game yet human friendly animals.

Colby used to pay for Irish immigrants to come to America as long as they brought a good bulldog or two with them. The UKC founded in 1898 registered the first APBT (the “bulldog” finally got a name). In 1909 the ADBA was founded to preserve the original pit bulldog because many fanciers felt the UKC was not up to the task--John P. Colby was the mainstay of the ADBA.

As mentioned earlier before these breeder associations, our breed were known only as "bulldogs;" therefore, I believe the APBT is the true bulldog; thus the reason fanciers still prefer this name today. Some such as R. F. Stratton believe they originated with the ancient hunter, the Ban Dog—the theories are endless.

One thing is clear; BSL proponents are using comments such as yours to further disparage our amazing breed—as well as the other dozen or so “pit bull type” dogs (known as the “Pit Bull Group”) the CDC lumps into “pit bull” bite statistics. You are assisting in the systematic euthanization of our breed. I have read many books, texts, excerpts, and have owned APBT’s for 21+ years.

I currently have a female pup 4-back from Jeep--my first male was Dutchboy blood. But I don’t fight my dogs; to me they are my family and I own them because game-bred dogs are the most docile to humans.

@jjclimcon these dogs were later labeled "american bull terrier", with the "pit" being inputed later on. That's why APBTs differ from the Bull & Terrier dogs. They are much lankier, leaner.
