mine is stand up and cheer stand up and cheer for masconomet for today huray the red aand white above the rest above the rest. our team is fighting and we are going to win th game we've got the team thats on the beam for its masconomets day--ay hey!
I was at the Ohio Theatre for this years hi-lites. I was with Lakewood High School. We were so excited to be there & of course to hear Long Train Runnin', our favorite!!! OU was awesome!
As a former member of this AMAZING marching band (no I'm not biased) Stand Up And Cheer still gives me goosebumps like I'm driving on at Peden Stadium. HIO!!!
I was raised in Athens, Ohio and fondly remember many football Saturdays listening to "Stand Up And Cheer". I recall standing on College Street during the Homecoming parade and waiting for the band to come down the street. That was nearly fourty years ago and the sond and band still gives me chills. Go Bobcats!
I clearly remember the sunny Fall afternoon of 1971 when I first heard the Ohio University 110 Marching Men (which it was known as then) It was love at first sight and sound and has remained that way. What a feeling!
When the 110 was founded, it was called the 110 marching men of ohio. Originally, we had 110 members. However, the band expanded well beyond that point, but the name stuck; it now refers to the percent effort each member is expected to give, both on and off the field.

#1 - Ohio University Marching 110 - "The Most Exciting Band in the Land!" is a perfect moniker for the Ohio University band that ranks as the best band in college football. With their physically demanding marching style, high-energy performances, halftime dances and strong support of a football team that, until 2006, was mediocre at best, it doesn't get any better than Ohio University's band.

WHY IS IT CALLED 110?
stormyschnee1991 4 years ago
When the 110 was founded, it was called the 110 marching men of ohio. Originally, we had 110 members. However, the band expanded well beyond that point, but the name stuck; it now refers to the percent effort each member is expected to give, both on and off the field.

You're close.
It was actually called 100 Marching Men of Ohio. It became 110, etc. the next year.
I know. I made the first announcement...

The Marching 110 has been named the best football marching band for 2007 by CollegeSports-Fans . com.
Probably for good reasons, YouTube doesn't allow links to be published, but you can figure it out from the above.
As a participant in the formation of this band 40 years ago this year, it is great to see this affirmation.
