  • Who recognizes the background? It's where Kirk fought the Gorn!

  • awwww the little pointy ears!!! <3

  • those baby vulcan ears are the cutest things i have ever seen! *dies of the adorableness*

  • him: his name was Spock

her: *thinking* that must be the shittiest name I have ever heard

  • look at his little ears <3

  • And that's the beginning of a huge Story...

  • The cuteness of Spock's little baby ears is too much!! ♥

Hmm, now if I only knew WHY Amanda gave birth on her balcony....

  • @LatinaFangirl illogical human

  • Umm why did she give birth outside???? Illogical human -.-

  • god sarek's voice is so hot.

  • Spock is soooo cute! I love the sounds he make. quieck!

  • What movie is this from?

  • @Joyness333 star trek 2009

  • Cute ;)

  • omg how cute ♥

  • spocks mom is rockin the princess leia top haaa

  • Nooo!!! Why is this not in the movie?!?! Why did the cut out these scene?! How could they leave out something so awesome?!

  • I did a double-take when I realized I was looking at Winona Rider playing Amanda.

  • Oh my gosh cuter then anything else but i do agree the star date was mixed up. That was so cute someone could cry the baby girl that played him must be adorable

  • so cute

  • WAIT WAIT WAIT! Where is this from?? O___O I didn't see this in the movie?? Is it a deleted scene???? :O

  • awwww que lindo

  • this scenery was on an alien planet in tos howd it become vulcan?

  • okay this is sooo inconsistent with everything else. I remember Spock recalls a memory of his birth in the Undiscovered Country, where it happens in a cave and Sarek is disappointed that "it's so human"

he also said in TOS that people call him Spock because his real name is unpronounceable.

  • @genericusername337 Actually, that was Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. But yeah... in the prime timeline, Spock and Sarek never really worked things out. At least in this timeline, Spock and his dad will be closer.

  • WHY. IS THIS. NOT IN. THE MOVIE.

  • @xTsukiTsuki They say this was going to be the opening shot of the film. The problem is it too hardly contrasts with Kirk's birth, so they had to scrap one scene or another. This was the one scrapped.

  • @ndalum75 Aw :/ I just really liked the connection between the line in this scene, "He has your eyes." and to a later scene in the movie in which a few Vulcan boys are trying to rip emotions from Spock, "Look, his human eyes, they're sad." (or something like that.)

  • "He has your eyes."

    "And your ears."

OMG these two are SUCH an adorable couple <3

  • If Spock were real and he watched this video, I imagine he would ask why his dad's collar is so huge. And what's the deal with midwife's headgear? Vulcan clothes in this video are illogical.

  • where did this come from? dont remember it from Star Trek 2009.

  • @jassoe They're these things called deleted scenes. See, sometimes movies run to long and some things need to be cut out.

    It's an ancient practice.

  • @Anarchist86ed yes i have seen it on another movies. Havent check on my bluray Star Trek i this is in the deleted scene section. I really think Star Trek is the best Sci-fi there is. And Paramount do the best movies. I can see any movie from Paramount and i will like it. Have you heared if they are doint some more Star Trek? My favorite in Star Trek is Leonard Nimoy, He who play Mr Spock originally. He has a special voice i l ike. I belive that we are not alone in the universe. Thanks for answer

  • I WANT A BABY VULCAN!!!!!!

  • Great video.

  • Illogical!

  • Baby Spooooooock!

  • CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

  • So cute

  • Cutest. Spock. Ever.

  • cyoooooooooot baby Spock

  • FASCINATING!

  • Any notice that at 0:59 the rocks in the background are facing one way but at 1:06 they are facing another?

  • @Kodos1 who cares

  • He's so cute!! X3

  • My Grandma loves ST. When she was young, one of her friends told her that is she had a baby, it will come out withpointed ears. She did have a baby(my dad) & he does have pointed ears

  • awww, he was so beautiful, well he IS beautiful! But i heard that Amanda had some miscarriges before she had Spock and scientists actually made him and put him in Amanda, they had to tweak with his genes just so that it would be actually possible for Amanda and Sarek to have a baby

  • In the 'proper' timeline (as seen in STAR TREK V), Spock was born in a regular hospital.

  • @bluenail03 You mean a cave?

  • @YesWeCantaloupe No. In STAR TREK V: The Final Frontier, it showed Amanda giving birth to Spock in a regular Vulcan hospital.

  • @bluenail03 ...............I remember it looking a lot like a dark cave. In the same scene, McCoy's dad died in a professional hospital, but not Spock.

  • @YesWeCantaloupe I'll have to check and see. In that reality, Sarke was a bit disgusted by Spock when he uttered, "He looks so human."

  • @bluenail03 And everyone has to remember, Star Trek V IS NOT canon. Gene Roddenberry stated so himself!

  • @BondSlave101 GR's son overturned that. Not only does he say that it is canon, but so is the "Animated Series" & VOYAGER's "Threshold." He stated that unless it was specifically shown to have happend in another reality/timeline, that if it is on film, it happened.

  • @BondSlave101 The events is TREK V were further cemented in canon when Archer & T'Pol encountered renegade Vulcans of the same group that Sybock lead.

  • @bluenail03 Well I'm sticking with it not being canon because Gene said it wasn't. I'm not saying it isn't interesting, and hell I liked teh Scotty/Uhura pairing, but according to gene that movie is not canon.

  • @BondSlave101 Well, had not the same sect of renegade Vulcans appeared on ENTERPRISE, I might agree with you, but they did and (IMHO) that made TREK V canon.

  • Was this cut from the 2009 movie?

  • @iluvbulldogs45 yep. that's why the graphic at the beginning was unfinished.

  • I don't know why they cut all this stuff from the movie! This is all the stuff that HASN'T been done before. It would have added SO much ...

  • I want a Baby vulkan!!!

  • @spacegeek725 me 2 !!!

  • @spacegeek725

i want a baby spock! :P or a original series one :D lol

  • Adorable baby ears!!!!

  • All right, 70's collar!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw, his ears, his pointly-lovely ears!

  • Maybe they'll put this into the next movie somewhere. Love Ben Cross, he realy does justice to a well loved character. RIP Mark Leonard.

  • Looks like three Andorians have been here.

  • Awww, Baby Spock is so cute, Now just wait till he's twenty! =3

  • I think I have an idea for why this was taken out, damned adorable as it is. First of all, it doesn't really help the story at all. Second, we're not supposed to see any tenderness between Sarek and Amanda *SPOILER* until after she dies, so this would have to be a flashback somewhere in the last portion of the movie, and there isn't really an appropriate moment to show the whole scene. So, as unbelievably cute and lovely as this is, there's no logical place for it.

  • The stardate was probably the reason this scene was deleted. It appears to be several years before Kirk's birth. It wouldn't work to have this scene and then cut to Nero's ship attacking the Kelvin. And it would also be incongruous to have that scene and then go back a few years to this.

  • Omg!!!!!!!!!! Spock was adorable!!!!! Why did they delete this scene!!!

  • OMFG was that cute.

  • This scene is just so cute but I have to point something out when Sarek said Spock had Amanda's eye's Spock eye's where closed after he said he said it he opened his eye's.

  • i dont want a baby vulcan i just want spock

  • AWWWWWWW.....WHY DID THEY DELETE THIS?!!

  • OMG!!! Spock was an epically cute baby!!! XD They should have kept this in the film!

  • I WANT ONE!!! :D Soooo freakin cute!!!

  • If all Vulcan infants are that cute then I want one. If they were real I mean.

  • I hate how they made the Vulcans douchebags in the movie like in Enterprise.

  • @KingOfMadCows Why wouldn't they be douchebags? Highly intelligent, civilized beings with full control over their emotions and thoughts come in contact with a stubborn, illogical race ruled by emotion. The Vulcans knew how dangerous the human race was...it's like a parent/child relationship. Vulcans are the parents who know better, and humans are the children who act before they think. The Vulcans have to be strict and firm with them.

  • @matrix86 But there's a difference between being firm and being arrogant and dismissive. The Vulcans in the new Star Trek movie, and in Star Trek Enterprise, don't just think that humans are immature, they think humans are inferior.

  • I love their relationship ^^ It's a bit awkward, but close and endering <3

so she gave birth to Spock outside? I wonder if Vulcans have any Peeping Tom XD

  • The scenes involving Kirk and Spock when they were younger should have been kept. I think they would actually have increased the impact of the movie and explained more about why the characters did the things they did.

  • why did they delete this, it's just too precious!

  • Holy crap! I was wondering if this was Star Trek pt. 2 or something LOL!

Well, I really wanna see Part 2!!!! :(

  • we will never forgive, we will never forget.

  • wow I think that baby was pure CGI very life like

  • @Theism411 the baby was real....

  • Sweet :D

  • OMG AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

  • So wait how can Vulcans and Humans have a baby when their blood types are completely different. Ours being iron based and Vulcan's being copper based.

  • @RetroGamerr1991 The organs are also in a different order, and I think we each have some that the other doesn't have. LOL

    The answer:

Vulcan scientists created the baby, and then got Amanda pregnant because she wanted a baby. At least, that's how I see it.

  • What IS that thing at the beginning? Are they trying to tell us that Spock was not the first mixed breed creature born on Vulcan?

  • Spock was the cutest little baby in the UNIVERSE, even though he was a girl. LOL

  • @StoneKnivesBearskins

    what a girl???

  • @fkhang9223 Yep. I guess they couldn't find a baby boy who was cute and pretty enough to be Spock, so they got a girl. LOL

  • @StoneKnivesBearskins

that is actually very funny. hahaha

  • @StoneKnivesBearskins That's not a girl, you can see his... eh, you can tell at 0:23.

  • @baxman32189 Check this out. He was played by a girl.

    /watch?v=G56im09pts4

  • I'm really annoyed this was cut. The connection between the Kirk birth and the Spock birth would have been great. I think the comment, "she is human" is perfect. Too bad this didn't make it.

  • Dumbed-down JJ Abrams BS.

Terribly unimaginative dialogue, and no respect for continuity.

    * sigh *

  • @Mogh its not JJ fault for this scene. he is director not the writer

  • This scene was adorable, I don't know why they cut it out. Reminds me of the Big Bang Theory where the gang finds out the the new Star Trek film would reveal Spock's birth, but then one of them says that they would like to see Spock's conception, that would be interesting...

  • This scene would have worked better without that CGI crab creature and the "Why does the mother cry" exchange. Don't you think she would have known that her patient was a human to begin with?! I liked it in Star Trek V where Sarek held his son and noted it's crying by saying, "So human."

  • @darrellkaiser11285 The scene was never 'finished' for post production due to being cut. The CGI crab is a placeholder for the what would have been a complete CGI crab had the scene been kept. You also see this in the Klingon Attack deleted scene, with the placeholders for the Nerada and the Klingon ships.

  • Yes, I do know it's an unfinished special effect. Even it was finished, I'd still think it was severely out of place.

  • @darrellkaiser11285 shes wondering why shes crying. clearly she still doesnt understand human emotions and the other said 'she is human' because thats the only answer she can give her

  • Once again, don't you think that the Vulcan would have known that they were dealing with a human being, known for emotional responses?

  • @darrellkaiser11285 Yeah, I like the Sarek scene too. However, I don't think the Vulcan "midwife" was questioning the fact that she was human, she was questioning her emotionalism. Sarek is ambassador to Earth and Spock is the first hybrid and first Vulcan in Starfleet. Vulcans still don't fully understand why humans are so emotional, and I think this is what that's trying to reflect.

  • It could have been better conveyed if the Vulcan acknowledged how "emotional" humans are and not questioning them. It just doesn't make sense that Vulcan children are VERY aware of how emotional a human can be, which is why they taunted Spock as a boy, but a grown Vulcan woman, who is assisting a complicated duty – childbirth, questions them.

  • what music is playing in this scene? Is it on the soundtrack?

  • @blackbelt2000 yes, it's on the soundtrack. the title is 'That New Cat Smell' I'll send you the song if you want it

  • Comment removed

  • CUTE!!!! I WANT ONE!!! <3

  • Just like a guy..even a Vulcan to be late for childbirth! LOLL! They all are out riding their bikes! Testosterone is the same no matter what quadrant of the galaxy you are in.

  • ...is that Sarek on a hoverbike?

  • they cut out way too much from this movie!!!!!!

  • why the hell did they cut this out??? it was awesomly cute i love spock even more now

  • He was sooo cute, as a baby xDDDDD

  • chubby!baby!Spock is just too precious~!! and Spock had such a gentle loving mother :)..

  • i'm in love with Spock<3 so this is the moment he was born. how wonderful:)

  • D'awww.

  • GOOD LORD THAT IS ONE CUTE BABY!! SPOCKY N'aww <3

  • Oh god, the cuteness hurts. -faves+shares-

  • Omgosh little baby Spock was a cute as baby Jim >.< Aww check out those ears!!!! AWWWWWW!!!!

  • And thus, the hottest man alive was born.

  • Wtf Spock was born in a cave.

  • it gives even more poignancy to that beautiful erdu music...and explains the title.

  • SO BEUTIFUL:)!

  • S'chn T'gai Spock... :D

  • spock is actually his LAST name his first is umpronouceable to humans.

  • @Yoshi741852 his full name is S'chn T'gai Spock ; )

  • @Deep1Purple2 yep i knew but didnt know how to spell it THX!

  • OOOOOOHH... Baby Spock is so cuuuuuuuteeee!!!!!!!!! Why do they delated this adorable scene???????

  • That explans the Name!

  • i thought sarek, was supposed to have said

    'So human' in disapointment.

    when spock was born.

    startrek 5

  • @CyberNeticRodent prob y they cut it out?

  • @CyberNeticRodent that was in another dimension or whatever those choose to call it. And I never believed that Sarek would be so displeased at having a son.

  • @Iluthra No the new dimension starts after and from the point where the narada came back in time and attacks kirks fathers ship.. and spock being a vulcan and living longer, was born some 70 years before kirk.

the time line was the same as classic trek when spock was born and startrek V is still a trek movie and spocks father said what he said.

  • @CyberNeticRodent ST 5 never happened. Although I didn't hate the film, I am a fan of Spock having no siblings and Sarek not being an asshole.

  • i thought sarek, was supposed to have said

    'So human' in disapointment.

    when spock was born.

    startrek 5

  • @CyberNeticRodent That whole scene from ST IV was what Spock imagined his birth was like - it wasn't an actual depiction of those events. It was only the way Spock thought Sarek had felt about him his whole life.

  • AW! baby Spock!!!

  • is that wynona ryder??

  • Man, that crab thing doesn't even cast a shadow, toss up sand when it walks, or move any shrubbery when it walks over it. LOL

Another thing they ripped off from Star Wars. It looks like Sarak got himself a Speeder Bike.

And isn't it great that they cleaned up the red Vulcan sky. And now it's a nice Earth blue. Man, that alternating universe thing sure affects a lot, huh ?

    I'm being facetious, of course.

  • This is IMPOSSIBLY cute.

  • All these deleted scenes are very good ...why on Earth were they cut from the film? Were they too slow for an action pact film???

  • yeah that baby was actually a girl

  • A great destiny awaits you, little one...you will grow strong and wise and become the object of adoration and lust for raving fangirls everywhere.

  • yeah, im sure that was purely a joke

  • Did anyone happen to catch what Amanda whispers after she says "And your ears?"

  • She says, "Hello Spock"

  • @DieHardTrekkie

    She said Spock.

  • great to see the Vulcans' sky isn't red anymore. Oooops was I supposed to notice that ?

And wasn't it already established that Surak was a little upset that Spock "looks, so human," per Star Trek 5?

I guess us old Trekkies notice continuity errors like this, throughout this film.

  • @fmscribs I vaguely remember reading somewhere that Gene Roddenberry said that Star Trek V was apocrypha or non-canonical or something.

  • glad this didnt make it in, it didnt really show the rejection and tension spock always had from his father

  • All of the deleted scenes should have stayed in the film -- ESPECIALLY this one and the scene with Kirk apologizing to (not) Gaila.

  • I think the one with Kirk and his brother should have stayed in.

  • @spunkyspano I liked all the deleted scenes, except the apologize to Gaila scene. I think it was pointless. HOwever the rest was important.

  • why was this deleted ? what a scene

  • cutting from the sacrifice of george kirk with seperation of mother/father to this rather tender moment would have been an absolute killer, i think it was probably deemed too much and I can see where the decision to cut straight to the car chase came from, shame the film does seem a little sijointed and seeing these deleted scenes its easy to see why.

  • why on earth/Vulcan was this cut?

  • finally we get to see another black Vulcan!

  • @fluidicmethod

    Turak's grandma.

  • Why the hell was this ever deleted?! It is a really great scene and expands on Spock's mother and father.

  • Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou! The most damned adorable scene in the world and I've been waiting so long for someone to post it!
