It was not fair since in the orginal mandate Israel was to get ALL the land. But they gladly accepted the remainder while the arabs rejected the comprimise and chose to attempt to destroy the new found State of Israel and drive Jews into the sea. The arabs lost.

Before the British Mandate Palestine included Jordan which had not been born. 80% of Palestine was given to Arabs to form Jordan. Then of the remainder half of the best land was given to form another arab country and the remaining 10% was given to the Jews to form Israel. The arabs rejected this partition and wanted ALL the land. The rest you wrote is a lie.

@johnknoefler that's not really true, go back to the 1947 division map and see how it is not fair for the majority of the Palestinians resident. 56% of the land were given to the Jews who form only 10% of the population 99% of them newcomers, just arrived from Europe. there was no justice in this plan at all. any nation will never accept such a plan, it is very obvious that power and force was the standard here but not justice and values. the Palestinians were oppressed really bad.
