ok just to clarify for everyone here. dodge and mitsu have been in bed together since the 80's. dodge colt had mitsu 1.6, dodge stratus (01-on) had mitsu 2,4 also known as the 4g64. same as the galant. the r/t also had mitsu 3.0 also put in the 300gt of earlier years. the neon had at least two car lengths on the eclipse and more on the somehow slow audi tt. way to go u can win with a handicap. srt-4 is still a neon. and the eclipse will never be as good as the gsx. NEVER EVER.

Going from memory he had 3" turbo back w/O2 housing, Mopar intake, Mopar STG 1 ECU, an aftemarket fuel rail, fuel return line, rising rate FPR, bigger throtle body, Upgraded I/C and piping (not sure what kind), and tuned with an APexi SAFC-2. So really not to much done, he was a bit over 300WHP. I can't remember how much though.

All the DSM models where made in Normal, IL. They all share the same DSM key if you own a DSM product. I am not sure about the 3rd gen. I know for a face the 2nd is. I have one.

I had a 2004 srt that I traded in for a 2006 eclipse gt 6sp. The srts bone-stock are definetly quicker and handle better,(that's not just my opinion, but a known fact) but I like my mitsu better.

P.S. ibanez, the srts are made in Mexico, and the 4G eclipses are made in Illinois

Well if you listen you can hear the SRT4 not climbing RPM's until the Eclipse was almost beside him. The Eclipse still got pulled on for more than 4 car lengths so it doesn't matter if if he had those 2 car lengths that your talking about.

This is a completely diffrent case man. QM times and highway pulls are completely different. The SRT shines top end. Thats why the 4 cylinder is killing the V6 on top end. Lol sure in the QM it would but on a highway pull it wouldn't.

@Cloudstrife1188 yeah this is true, but even with these, idk what that particular srt4 was running, but I roll with some guys that run about 400whp in srt4s and cobalts SS's, and theyll probably still leave me when I get my headers and retune... just saying. I LOVE my car, and my top end is close to a stock cobalt SS, but its a FAT car, so even with ~300 wheel (bolt ons+good tune) these guys will leave me all day, with 800 lbs less, and another 100hp. so don't go all crazy on them

the srt-4 was a chrysler stratus block with all dodge exept for the turbo, your sorce was problably talking about the caliber srt engine which is chrysler/mitsu/hundai but there both nice engines. but id love to have that 6spd the caliber srt got

nope stratus has a 2.4 (all chrysler) 2.7 v6 (all chrysler) and 3.0 v6 that only comes in the stratus R/T and thats the mitsubishi engine and its loaded with problems. and the 2.4 was out way back in 95 when the first gen stratus was out way before the pt cruiser. the 2.4 in the srt-4 was a stratus block and everyting else was custom from chrysler for the car, then they made a weaker version of the engine for the pt-gt

if the "muffler" is too free flowing it causes back pressure and you lose torque, only a high flow muffler designed for maximum flow while reducing back pressure will really give you some more power.

You see the only reason that TT's are quick is because of the quattro, considering this race was from a 50 roll its no wonder that I smoked him. And stock SRT4's aren't that quick, I can take them from a roll or a dig. Don't talk crap about something you know nothing about, especially when all you drive is a glorrified GTI.

Oh and since you want to quote magazine numbers, a 225hp Quattro runs a 14.8 @95mph, much slower than my 14.2 @ 102MPH with me behind the wheel. I don't give a crap about your magazine numbers, they way you talk I wonder if your even old enough to get a license.

225Q convertible runs 14.8, coupe runs mid-low 14s. A 225 coupe with exhaust and chip runs 13.5, assuming that you're willing to abuse the clutch. I've owned this car long enough to know that you really must know it well to keep it running at top level. With just a minor leak/maf problem it will easily move from 13.5 to 14.5. Your friend should get his checked out if you beat him that badly with a chip. That should not occur.

14.8 is for a 225 convertible, coupe runs mid-low 14s. Guys with just a chip and exhaust ran 13.5 (check audiwold's forum if you like). I've had this car long enough to know that a little problem can greatly effect it's performance. Just a small leak or MAF/temp issue can move it from 13.5 to 14.5, you really have to know the car well to keep it running at top shape. If your friend has a chip, he shouldn't have lost to you at all, let alone by that margin.

Stock for stock it rapes the srt-4 and if they made it rwd. it would've inluded a drive shaft which would've resulted in loss of hp. The only thing remotly wrong with the new eclipse gt is traction prob. which can be overcome with a good driver so there it is.

Exactly. Most people don't have a CLUE what the 2006+ eclipse 6-spd GT can do. It's heavy, but no slouch. Either drive it, or take note that people have run the GT @ 13.9 or 14.0 BONE STOCK on those garbage eagle RS-A tires. Oh and 0-60 in 5.6 or less, quite easily (6-spd GT only).

I smoke SRT-4's all day long. That's ridiculous. The new Eclipses are not crap at all. Yes, the 95-99 model is definetly a good look, but they improved the Eclipse from the last model for sure. It would be nice if it was RWD, but they don't get any traction when you bang gears as it is. How would it be with RWD? You can have your opinion, but I would LOVE to know that you drive.

I like the old 95-99 Eclipse GT's, but the newer ones suck ass.. freaking V6 front wheel drive pieces of crap, they need to make them RWD if they're going with a V6 engine.. what kind of supposed "sports car" is FF, that's my only bone with Mitsubishi.
