lol, this is the most pathetic video ever. If you're planning to crack an HDD from like 5 stories high, you don't even need Liquid N to do it! The HDD would crack even without it LMFAO! Bunch of douche bags... but why even try to crack an HDD in the first place?
I just froze a flash drive in liquid N2 and it was still able to read data a few seconds after I removed it from the liquid.
And no, most things don't magically shatter like you'd think so... Quarters won't do anything, but a penny can shatter. I would think that most of the damage done to an electronic device would be from differences in contraction/expansion rates of the materials inside.
so like...the experiment shows that it doesn't matter if you drop the HD with or without liquid nitrogen. It'll eventually break:P Try something organic next time:)
Terminator? Are you serious? you seriously expected it to shatter into a load of small pieces? Firstly, the T-1000 was made of liquid metal... frozen liquid (for example, ice) would shatter. All you've done is give a bit of frostbite (or is that byte) to a hard drive.
you can put liquid nitrogen in your mouth, it floats around above the mucus layer and feels like sucking on a liquid ice cube, you can blow smoke bubbles n all, its actually pretty cool, just don't swallow it.
Ever wondered what would happen of you open the case, make it work (no need of computer, just hook up 12 and 5 volts to the pins) and then pour some of that liquid nitrogen in?
Or with computer, let it boot then pour in the nitrogen?

Oh *please*. This is nothing but a lame attempt to copycat what we Caltech students do every year for Halloween: freeze pumpkins in liquid nitrogen and drop them off a nine-story tower.
I think it may make your computer freeze

You could probably through a hard drive off the empire state building and it wouldnt brake lol. I wonder if the data on the disk was recoverable lol.

it seems to me... the hard drive broke before it touched the ground on the final drop

once it was dipped in the nitrogen, the data would be finished as it would seep in through the breather hole.

The best part was the pouring of the liquid itself. Film more of that.
