@OfficialTijen she's in love with him and he doesn't pay attention to her or appreciate her, by ripping the shirt he was basically making fun of their realtionship and breaking her heart. So when she says "Do you only care about the bleeding crowd, How about a needy friend?" she is saying that he pays so much attention to the protests and riots against "the man" and doesn't pay attention to her.
@bsusaxplaya What do you mean the "regular" Shelia? If you mean Caren Lyn Tackett, I would beg to differ. She plays an fantastic Shelia. She might not have pipes like Caissie but she is still holding her own. Both of them are very inspirational just by the fact that they can sing, and be on Broadway.
@Graceisgrowing Well I beg to differ as well. I've seen it twice in the past month and she just doesn't do it for me as Sheila. During "Easy to Be Hard," she yells a lot because it just sounds out of her comfort range and her acting throughout most of the show is sub-par. Personally I'm just not a fan.
Amazing cross between Joan Baez and Barbara Streisand - such natural, effortless power and performance. If she'd been around anytime between1960-1990 she'd be a big, big star. t's all going back to the days when the best performers are in musicals. Funny how things go full circle.
Saw her on Broadway in the show. She does so much justice to this role. Justice that A small clip does not justify. She is a perfect shelia. Also, the movie and the stage show is SO much different from each other that there is really no way to compare these songs from the 2 because they are sung by 2 completely different characters and singing about completely different things.
If she doesn't feel the song, she simply is not the appropriate person to perform it. But, in this case, it seems is not only a question off feeling (what, as I said, should be required to play the role): the singer/actress is clearly below the necessary skills and talent...
Some people think she doesn't do enough with the song...I think she does a great job at being truthful, instead of forcing huge emotions that aren't really there.
I didn't like her cover of Easy to be Hard. It certainly is nothing like the original. I think she sings the song... that's all, nothing special about her performance of it though.
Ahhhh she hugged me and said she loved my hair!!! This was amazing when I saw it, literally one of the best things I've ever seen :) She was amazing, so much depth and emotion, absolutely phenomenal

For those that say she is bad, go see the show. The regular Sheila is the only weak link. Everyone else is fantastic.

She has a good voice, but I don't like this style for this song. It's a little too broad and "modern Broadway" for my taste. Where's the soul?

Love the fact I'm going to the same school as her! I love her :)
