  • both left hander:)

  • @Rikimaru915

    That should be banned LOL

Very confusing to play against such people ;-)

  • I recently read a forum saying that fast drops should be a player's preferred and main choice of drops, but I'm doubtful. What are the pros mainly using? I find it hard to tell which drops they are hitting. Reply, thanks!

  • From what I can see, faster drops seem to fall much later, so they won't be closer to the net than their slower version. I imagine as with all fast badminton shots, you need to be in a very balanced position to play them well. The faster drops will almost look like a half drop half smash.

  • they hit more fast drops which takes away their opponents ability to spin the bird, and makes it harder for the oponents to play tight net!

  • @Joshsieh it depends on if they want to setup an attack= fast drop or if they are off balance = slow drop but mostly they use fast drops and by the way a cue to differentiate the drops most of the time fast drops land farther away from the net and slow ones a bit closer

  • Lin Dan doesn't need to smash against Bao C. He is playing only at 80% of his game. Watch him playing against Lee CW, he plays at 110%. Lin D is really worried of LCW's current form.

  • lol no, he took the advantage of smashing against bao. Its just that his smashes are too powerful they dominated teh game so he doesnt need them at the end. But yeah, I agree with you, Lin Dan does has to push beyond his limit to play LCW. LCW is the god of speed(defense) while Lin Dan is the god of power(attack). Lol just a metaphor

  • what's taufik then? 305 km/h forehand smash and 287 km/h backhand smash

  • OKay first of all. If I recall, his back hand is only 260 km/h. COrrect me if I am wrong. And for your information, Taufik only has a 305 km/h taped in one of the semi-finals. According to record, Lin Dan has smashed a 329 km/h before during the preliminaries. Not sure if Taufik can smash faster, even if he can, I doubt the number of smashes he used during a game surpasses Lin Dan's.

  • not true, lin dan smash was never that powerful, the record goes to taufik in singles as stated in the guiness book of records

  • noticed its preliminary and never recorded

  • oh ok

  • Well, I think it depends on Lin Dan's opponent's playing style too, which lets him decide whether he should smash more or extend the rallies.

  • How comw lin Dan uses the backhand Short serve?

  • how come Lin dan uses the backhand short serve?

  • cos if its high backhand serve then theres a chance that the opponent will smash it, leaving Lin Dan in a defensive position.

  • So why doesn't he use forehand, does he just prefure backhand?

  • if you use forhand, and you play high in the back, he smash and he got his point, and if you try to give it short, you possibly give it too high and he can smash ;)

  • no actually, using back hand short serve is to get the chances to smash right away

  • hes asking why he uses backhand short serve and not forehand short serve =.= none of u answered his question~

he uses backhand short serve because it has more control than a forehand short serve, and if you KNOW you're gonna use short serve primarily against your opponent, you usually stick with the backhand...and since ppl have so much power now, they can get the bird the same distance pretty much the same as forehand if they wanted to

  • lin dan doesnt smash that much anymore, I guess that means he is getting old? or maybe he thinks massive amount of smashes arent needed in this game?

  • thats so true

  • there not needed. Lin just has to move his opponent around
