  • looks like a mexican clow car

  • pretty good landing

  • Awesome job sir. Glad to have you serving our country!!!

  • "this is the wrong airstrip" "Its on the other side of town"

  • That stopped damn faster then with gear thought

  • Very good landing in a very dangerous situation. And to those insulting him, as if he (or she) could have done better, how would you have done? Playing IL-2 and Flight Simulator 2000 doesn't make you a naval aviator.

  • lol wtf how many people got out, looks like a rented flat with pakkistans.

  • COD..... lol

  • good job pilots!!! just think i get to go into work tomorrow and stare at that plane for the next 9 hours :/

  • lmao, navy pilot, emergency landing, how can it not be a perfect landing

  • lol that thing is like a clown car. People just keep on pouring out.

  • Chris Matthews cant even report this right. Hes too busy getting tingling feelings up and down his leg when he hears Obama.

  • Knob reporter, likes to hear himself speak... no mention of the engine problem...great reporting...NOT!!!

  • I did this once.....

    with my car !

  • Bonus experiance + 100 lol

  • haha that is like a tiny clowns car with a ton of clowns coming out of there xD

  • Mexicans. 0:45

  • @bluesnote1 LOL made my day

  • Geez how many people are in that plane !?! Its like a clown car skiet !

  • How many of the fuckers were in there?

  • @FetidToecheese i was just thinking the same thing. lol

  • That was impressive! He made it look like it was nothin'...

  • Damn, He is a damn good pilot

  • Excellent Airmanship. the pilots should be promoted. Wow.

  • This is a newsflash? LOL

  • This occurred Aug 15, 2005.

  • You know how good the pilot is? He makes it look easy.

  • you are flying at near stall, gear down (planes act funny when you do that they wanna nose over) flaps down, hand on throttle a very specific angle and glide path, no exit stratagy if you come in low, and if you come in high you may not have enough deck to touch and go. slam full throttle as you touch down just incase you miss the 3 wire and when you take off you fall off the end of the carrier and drop a minimum of 20 feet. yeah never boring!

  • who ever posted that the 100th carrier landing is boring has definatly never landed on one. for one the pilots don't call it a landing, its a controlled crash. I have been in the RIO seat on a carrier landing. (ROTC was a blast) and when the pilot said "ok prepare for landing" I asked where. the carrier is a huge ship but it looks like a damn postage stamp till you're on deck!

  • No sense in going back and forth getting pissy either...you're just a liar.Cut and dried.Every kid on YouTube with a video card and $30 to spend on FSX is suddenly a seasoned pilot. Good luck with that 101st carrier landing.

  • "On a wing and a Prayer" - stop giving this "god" the credit, it's a good pilot and he should be acknowledged for that NOT some spaghetti monster.

  • @PacSgt

    lol spaghetti monster hehehe

  • @PacSgt You're my idol for the spaghetti monster reference.

  • Parachutes. Yeah. Right. When you determine that your gear will not fully extend, you select GEAR UP and leave it. Then you set your approach, make the threshold, cut power, control your descent, touch and skid. You lose some belly skin and usually save both engines and props, aircraft is salvageable. parachuting personnel out? Extremely dangerous, odds of survival are much lower.

  • I remember seeing this back in the summer of 2005. I've been to Norfol NAS to check out the airfield; I've seen some C-2s and E-2s in the distance lined up.

  • i salute to the pilots

  • why such a large crew? what do they use those planes for? there was a grip load of people in that thing!

  • try listening to the readers, they explain it

  • point well taken, just didn't know they had planes in the navy that can carry that many people that land on carriers.

  • I cant help but get a kick outta all these armchair pilots. All of you are pilots, yet none of you have a clue what the fuck you're talking about. Here's a tip yall," a thousand hours on X-Plane does not a pilot make".

  • @FoulOwl ha this is true

  • @FoulOwl Haha so true!

  • you can tell that the news anchor has absolutely no knowledge of aviation...

  • none what so ever

  • Seriously...I just got a tingley feeling up my leg!

  • What in the hell are you two talking about?

  • Does anyone else notice he called an air force colonel for a naval plane disaster? xD

  • perfect given the circumstances and really not that difficult given his experience.

  • Wow, the pilots was US marine pilots , this was piece of cake for them, comparing with a land to the aircraftcarrier !It would had been really mean to order the passengers to bail out with theyr emergency parachutes ... but really funny to watch :)

  • Comment removed

  • Hmmm... no offense , I`m not even a pilot, but I know that a carrier landing is nothing but boring even for a veteran pilot ! Now, it might be US propaganda, but it might also make you a lair, unless you have some proofs for us, others that some bad words for my mom :) Tell you the truth, I`m a pilot too... but my plane is not heavy enough to call my self a true pilot ! If you really are an aircraft pilot, well... you got my respect ... it`s not easy to get there !US Air Marines rules !!!!

  • Comment removed

  • ha ha ! I knew`it you`re not an aircraft carrier pilot, your english is poor ! You might be a pilot, but since you have no aircraft carrier landings, you`re just a pilot ! And you`re wrong also about my nationality , I`m not from US , I`m from Romania , but even so, I don`t have to be very smart to realize how hard is to land a jet on an aircraft carrier ! Those US marines pilots rules !!! Too bad they are just risking their life's for some fat senators ass or something like that ... :(

  • Comment removed

  • Did you ever landed a plane on a aircraft carrier ?!?! have you any proof ? NO ?!?!? Then I don`t this you can say about a "100`th boring landing " There is no such thing ! The pilots heart beat is faster on landings than in fight situations ! had you lived under a rock until now ? Are you like 22 years old ? Why I`m I wasting my time with you ?!?!?You have no personals videos uploaded .... :(

  • HAhahahahahahhahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahah

    The Netherlands don't have carriers.......................

  • you are no pilot

  • actually they risk their ass for every American and to bring freedom to the rest of the world.

  • HAHAHAHA Freedom through war, how american of you.

    Fucking dumb ass.

P.S. Great landing, good pilot, I have nothing against most americans

  • well how else would you become free? If you have invented another way I am game for that einstein.

  • Total dismembermant of military control from a conflicted governments country and establishment of a UN presence to gain control until a new government can be established. The reason for a UN force is obvious, the US cannot be trusted. Take Iraq for instance.

Of every country the USA has been in a war or other military conflict with, not one has anything good to say about the results.

  • Oh, I actually thought you would be smart and I was willing to overlook the dumb ass comment, but the instant that I saw the U.N. sentence, you lost my respect. But countries have had good things to say about results so I don't know where you got that one from. Later Dude.

  • Germany?

  • South Korea?

  • you kidding me? Have you ever been to south korea? It's awesome. You just eat delicious bulgogi and rice all the time and occasionally sing karaoke (although they did have a military dictator for awhile). But seriously, they have made large strides in human rights.

You may be misinformed... no one has ever received the death penalty for not paying taxes. Prison eventually if you don't pay I suppose.

  • Didn't mean for it to sound like the death penalty was imposed from not paying taxes. Was trying to point out the fact that in general only faciaist governments rule by such a strict hand.

And relating to your other comment, yer every government has muck under the nails. It's just a matter of knowing what that muck is that makes the differance in view that people have towards a country and its government.

  • I mean - you don't live here so you don't really "know"(but can always assume...) - we aren't as oppressed by our government as you might think.

No government is perfect, however. You said "bugger", so I'll guess you're probably from the Commonwealth. You and I both know we could analyze that history and get some good dirt. But that is just shit-talking, which isn't exactly constructive.

  • You've, "made a lot of landings on carriers".....""number 100 is boring".Kid, you're so full of shit I can smell you all the way across the Atlantic.Get a grip on reality kid, playing X-Plane doesnt make you a 737 pilot.

  • um marine pilots dont fly c-2's airsoldier2001...

  • pro skill right thur

  • Anyone notice the right engine out???!!!

  • Yepp

  • they shut down the stbd motor with the fear of hitting the prop tips and sending parts flying. it was the smoothest landing i have ever had in a c-2 as to date!

  • Yeah, pritty nice! Maybe they have to lower there landing gear also not in default landings, this looks much better! :P

  • i was on that air plane no the grass dont have an arresting cable!

  • you clearly wern't on that plane. Stop lying to make friends.

  • He actually hooked up with the cable on the runway hence why the aircraft stopped on a dime as soon as it hit the runway.

    Aircraft-hook

    Runway-cables

  • I can see the hook down and it hit the cables, but I'm not sure it caught, looks like it slides a long way after passing the wires.

  • wouldnt it have been better to land on grass??

  • i think there would have been alot less chance of fire or explosion if they did it would have been alittle rougher. but the chances of fire would have been dramticaly slimed

  • he wouldnt have stoped so quickly on grass, more risk.

  • thats a but load of pll one afta da next jeeze good job to the pilot i bet if thier was a black guy they all would be crakin up black people hate flying imagine if he found out umm were gonna have to make and imergency landing loool

  • the amount of people

  • Hhahah it was never ending line of people.

  • ITS A CLOWN CAR!!! look at all the people coming out of it!!!

  • LOL!!! there was 20+ people in that clown car!!!

  • Excellent job pilot!

    10/10+

  • He applied full thrust reverse I belive. That should easily stop the plane

  • actually he didn't. He shut down the other engine as soon as he touched down. At NAS Norfolk we have arresting cables we use for emergencies. That's what stopped the plane so fast.

  • Oh, ok thank you!

  • @scarface8999 with a dead engine never reverse thrust unless you wanna spin like a top. he followed SOP which is tail hook down and gear up if gear failed. so that you can land flat at a very shallow glide path and the hooks on those damn things are strong as hell and dig into most non metal surfaces. that was the dust you saw. he may have been power on to keep it straight. not easy to do I vote good pilot since the bigger the plane the harder it is to do.

  • This was AC# 634 from VAW-120. Lt. Zaiko was the pilot and he did a hell of a job. All those passengers were maintainers that work on that airplane. they were on their way to florida. Good old Grumman Iron works Baby!

  • can someone explain to me how the plane landing?

  • omg haha it was full of people?!?! damn good thing it was a good pilot!

  • Major damage in small aircraft gear up landings is usually done to the engine when the prop strikes. This plane's prop is high enough off the ground that it wasn't even an issue. It'll probably undergo minor repairs to the fuselage and a thorough inspection and be flying in no time. News just loves to sensationalize anything involving airplanes and accidents.

  • I'm Glad that all everyone on Navy's Aircraft and Made it Safety. GO Navy !

  • you stop quicker without the Gears down? Awsome!!

  • I guess so because the gears are still moving even when breaks are applied? Correct me if I am wrong...

  • ...what?

  • the gears dont stop completely when full brakes are applied

  • ok... first off u mean the tires.. the "gears" dont spin man. and you very well can skid the tires on a plane like that if you aren't careful. you stop so quickly with the gear up because there is more metal to dissipate the heat...

  • Thanks for that Correction yh I know it was a mechanical failure

  • np man. no hate in those comments^^

  • I get ya. Peace and merry christmas!

  • what a landing! gosh

  • Way 2 Go!

  • Thats Navy Trained!! HooRah!!! C-2 or Cods as we call them do move mail and people however there were people on board that do Not know how to use a Parachute so jumping is NOT gonna happen especially to the Girl that got pregnant unautherized underway! XD MSNBC I have My Naval Airwarfare pin let me be your Navy Advisor!!

  • Exceptional abilty these guys nice to see them all safe

  • Navy Pilot?..i'm a lil on knowledge.

I always thought Navys are only responsible for Seas and ships and subs.

hearing Navy pilot was weired...tho i learned sumthing new today

  • How do you think planes were transported and flown during the Pacific Campaign in WW2? :)

The Navy has a ton of pilots and planes at their disposal. What do you think goes on carriers? :P

  • Wow, Looks like you failed American History HAHA lol

  • they alwyas bring these assholes in to talk about wat we alrdy know in the first 2 minutes

  • yay Va ftw

  • wooow there were lik 30 people in there

  • ahahahhaaaaaa so many ppl were in thre

  • its not like he forgot. the gear didnt go down. mechanical failure.

  • sex fest

  • No gear and right engine fully feathered. Great jog done by great pilots. And you can see both pilot jumped from the front windows and ran to help people exit through the rear. Heroism

  • The biggest prob here seem to be the missing rightwing tip! nearly 30feet missing... full right foot rudder job I think...

  • WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? it had nothing wrong with the wing...

  • yeah, that's the major problem for him, !!!! full right rudder, end of discussion ;)

  • full left rudder, dead foot=dead engine

  • great landing!

  • they all came out like ants!

  • amazing landing!

  • wow no prob strike

  • NICE PILOT

  • It is a C-2 Greyhound. None the less thats a navy pilot man.

  • AMAZING!!! landing!!!

  • superb landing!

  • hot from many military !! good job from the pilot

  • Was that repaired?

  • Yes. I was in the squadron at the time of the mishap. The plane flew again a little more than a year after this incident. It has since transferred to another squadon and to the best of my knowledge is still flying.

  • Great landing!! :D

  • I'm surprised Chris Matthews didn't blame George Bush for the landing gear malfunction.

  • LOL! So true!

  • LMFAO...No shit dude!

  • lol

  • Good one!

  • Interesting that they had one engine shut down.

  • umm...how would they make it back with none?

  • They only needed the power of one engine to make this approach, and it makes it much safer if one engine is shut off. And the pilot made the right choice of using the left engine, which is the critical engine.

  • As I'm a non expert, please explain why the left engine is more critical than the right, also correct me if I missunderstood your comments. thanks.

  • Good question. On this aircraft, both of the propellers spin clockwise. The blade that is traveling downward always have more thrust that the one upward. In this case, if the pilot shuts off the left engine instead, the downward blade on right engine would create thrust to yaw the whole plane to the left substantially, because it is further from the center of the plane than the downward blade on the left engine.

  • There's also another consideration. If the right prop strikes the ground bits of it are more likely to punch through the fuselage, while the debris from the left engine would be probably thrown away from the plane. In this case the pilot did a superb job and saved both engines.

  • Yes, smart one.

  • I did not know that, very interesting, thanks!

  • Typical Dumbass Air Force Colonel "If they had parachutes, they could have the passengers jump out." He is the MSNBC "expert." Nice.

  • That's a good pilot! =)

  • belly landing!! wow babe!!
