used one's are cheaper, seen an 09 with 50k on it for under 10 grand automatic.

sorry... but i think the i20 is much louder than the swift! No wonder cuz the hyundai door isolation are lil strips while on the swift ... well... they're almost covering the whole door and much better in quality. The only place i hear wind noise on the swift is from the boot/trunk.

i don't know about i 20,but i doubt is better handling.huyndai doesn't have a fame for their cornering ability!the only thing that i know is that my swift 1.2 is a true ''mini sportscar'' in twisty mountain roads!everything else,is a joke!

@Friendly0Dan Well, because Americans tend to buy larger cars, and maybe Suzuki are not sure it would sell. They have to be very careful in today's climate, and considering they have plenty of competition from other Japanese, South Korean and European car makers. But you're right, and it is a really good car, just excellent. I owned the older version for a while and it was one of the best cars I've had. The only reason I sold it was that I needed more luggage space.

@Friendly0Dan I know! In canada it's dubbed as the the worst hatchbak of the decade, because they don't make the wave anymore and the aveo is getting replaced by the sonic. I rather take the bus than drive that shitbox.

I've had the previous model for the last 3 1/2 years and I think this looks much nicer, especially from a side profile, cabin looks much neater too. Shame the rear seats don't fold flat though. On my 2007 GL you can tumble them forwards. Seems like a bit of a backwards step to me, especially when one of the biggest gripes people had with the old model was the small boot :-/ .

I was kinda disapointed in the not so radical change in the new Swift, but it still looks good. They improved what they needed too. The interior, and car overall. If the reports are true I can't wait for this car to come to the U.S. A poor man's MINI.
