Don't need them with the Homelite, but the Remingtion is louder that a 100 shotguns and will bring you to your knees if you don't use earplugs and muffs togeather.
@ibbiggs, I know its direct drive but I'm still running my C7 direct drive and it don't bog down that low. I wish I had all the parts for the gear drive conversion incase I wanted to do it sometime.
