  • This one routine was the pinnacle of his observations. I love this piece

  • Bill makes me proud to be a human being. All the disillusioning hypocritical bullshit that we are forced to live through everyday is made bearable by Hicks' observations. His voice will resonate through the ages. Thankyou Mr Hicks you will not be forgotten anytime soon.

  • all matter is energy condensed...

every matter contains electron, proton and neutron. an electron has 1/1836th mass of a proton which is negligible.the mass of protons or neutrons comes from quarks (1%) and gluons (99%). now gluon is massless. so most of the mass comes from massless particles.

Bill, you taught me quantum physics.

  • What LSD taught me is that there is no such thing as understanding because our minds our not capable of it. Those who think they understand life and its meaning are delusional and ignorant. We look to others and base our perception of reality on what there perception of reality is without considering that they are just as lost as the rest of us.

  • this is just a ride :D Miss you man

  • If we go back far in time, all the particles of matter in the entire universe that are expanding were all mashed together in a single particle about the size of a green pea (what science says and what the computer models suggest). This means that you and me and all were once part of that same particle. Even though now these particles are separate and expanding, energetically, we’re all still linked. Thank you strange mushrooms I found in my yard...

  • 2:20 and on... always a pick up and no matter how down I get, this bit always makes me feel better.

  • @protectaa @TurquoiseCowboy over all look at it like this drugs are permission slips to you to just bring out that part of you that you can reach in meditation. an if you do both at the same time you can train your self to relax and hold that state so you will no longer have any need for the drug .

  • Comment removed

  • @protectaa Well yeah you can reach stages of deep thought through meditation. But I guess drugs are the only way to get to the point where you do funny stupid stuff like talk to your toothbrush. I like psychedlics for the philosophical enlightenment they give you, but I also like the funny stupid stuff.

  • @TurquoiseCowboy Meditation and Psychedelics are branches of the same tree. It's like the great Terence McKenna said " Psychedelics are meditation in overdrive".

  • Would I do drugs? No but that's just my choice. Should the state have any say whatsoever in what someone chooses to put into their body? No not at all.

  • its just a ride!

  • wow this guy is insightful, And funny, what a great guy.

  • Experimenting with "drugs" and getting dependent on them are 2 totally different things. Drugs affect your chemistry and have the ability to hook you. But guess what, so does food. And gambling. And legal drugs. I've seen more people "hooked" on legal drugs and ruin themselves, including my mother. Why did my mother become an addict of alcohol and prescription drugs ("legal") while I occasionally do weed, acid, coke and alcohol and not succumb? It's not the "drug" per se. Maybe it's the person.

  • @bigcyhutch yes! of course its the person! thats why we dont hand drugs to the public! its so unfair to those who are going to get addicted and fuck their lives up! come on now. besides acid coke and alcohol kill you slowly. even if you cant feel it, but your body is dying, probably begging for a life away from all these deadly chemicals. your mom's an addict, you should know better man.

  • @ElisaIsra You do realize that acid is arguably one of the safest recreational drugs out there? The LD-50 is remarkably high. It can't 'kill you slowly' as it has no adverse physical effects.

And you don't seem to understand that ALL dangers related to ALL drugs can be avoided with moderation and responsible use, something that CANNOT be achieved through prohibition, because drug abuse increases while prohibition is enacted.

  • @PullyElbow27 youre just repeating yourself. Really.

  • anyone heard third eye by tool?

  • And do what when Iran comes to bomb America? Sit back all high and juxtapose mushroom clouds from psilocybe cubensis? Get real, Bill. I like your idea but it isn't plausible.

  • @machineunit

When Iran comes to bomb America....

What a brainwashed moron you are. Iran hasn't attacked another country in 300 years. What, are they going to carry a non-existent nuke to the US by hand? They don't have the bomb, nor the missile to get it here.

  • @profd65 I'm sorry, Iran was a bad example. I'll remove Iran from the sentence and replace it with China, or Russia, or another country that hates us, or another country willing to supply a terrorist organization in the same fashion the U.S. did against the U.S.S.R. Point being, there are plenty of countries out there that hate us. We're in too deep to just say "Sorry!" and have good foreign relations. You can nitpick my posts and call me brainwashed, but I think you have me pegged all wrong.

  • @machineunit china dosen't hate us

  • @ThatMeatalGuy123 They will when we don't pay back that loan from them.

  • @ 3:13, Bill Hick always does the funniest interpretation of George Bush Jr and Sr look heh heh.

  • "...all we need is a choice. No efort, no work, no savings and money, no jobs." No jobs? How do you suport yourself

  • @ButnaruF

...You completely missed the point of everything Bill was saying.

  • The thing with drug are that people abuse them, it's not that they are bad in themselves it just people take them too much like people eat too much, smoke too much, drink too much alcohol, everything in moderation should be the motto but sadly many can't do it!!

  • epic!!!!

  • He's right, but that's far too idealistic. Not practical in the least.

  • @TheAdmiralPancake Well is he right or is he not? If he's right it's practical.

  • I've been watching Bill Hicks for quite a time now. Listening to Tool as well. I always really appreciated the music, it spoke to me somehow. But I just got really high and it hit me like a brick. I saw the truth. We are one. Everything is one. Bill describes it perfectly with the ride analogy.

  • Your vid is a favorite on Cape Town

  • If there is no such thing as death what is Bill's philosophy on what happened to him after he died?

  • @DrugStabbingTime Most likely he is looking back and saying "I told you so FUCKERS!"

  • both inner AND outer!

  • how did he died?

  • @whiskymarko ..goroid syndrome.

  • @whiskymarko Pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed at age 31, passed away about 8 months later. This performance was only 15 months before his death. Took his last breath at his parents' home in his mother's arms.

  • @venicequeen34 everything else is correct, but you were just one year out mate, he was 32.

  • This was filmed 18 years ago, Hicks was so far ahead of the game it's scary. Absolute legend of a man, if only he was still around now, he would have some serious material to work with since the affairs of recent years. One of my only idols

  • Sudden Clarity Clarence touched by Bill Hicks!

    9gag.com/gag/1710198

  • today young men on acid failed to make the grade because they were too busy taking drugs and now theyre going to be layabouts for the rest of their lives.

Im a huge hicks fan but i dont agree with his politics on drugs, iv seen too many people turn into wastrels thanks to drugs. The truth is when your taking drugs your getting dumber.

  • @MCshlthead They turn into "wastrels" because they realize the world is just a ride and it is pointless to pursue anything. Yeah, they're lazier, but that's because the drugs have enlightened them of the fact that hard work is pointless. Don't knock drugs til you try them.

  • @TurquoiseCowboy its very important to be able to think for yourself (im sure thats what Bill Hicks would want) in my experiences with drugs, i took them myself at one stage, i know people who have got into drugs and it's ruined their lives. There is no denying that pot leads to heavier drugs leads to having no money/home/braincells, not to mention the sort of scum you have to associate with to obtain drugs. Dont forget that when you are buying drugs you are financing gangs.

  • @MCshlthead You're not understanding what I was saying. When you say drugs ruined their lives, you mean that they've failed in the business world. Well my point was that the business world and making money doesn't matter. Drug users enjoy the simple joys in life and withdraw from the business world because they're able to see the futility of it. And the fact that you're financing gangs when you buy drugs is a great argument for legalizing drugs, because then gangs wouldn't be selling them.

  • @TurquoiseCowboy drugs ruin lives, they ruin bodies and spirits, not only drug users fail in the business world, but they also ruin any chance of really enjoying the simple things in life! Simply because when theyre high their minds cant possibly think straight they turn into slaves to these bills, its all chemicals, they will give up on their families, loved ones, even their own kids just to get high! y'all should be smarter than that! "im anti money so ill just go get high" lol fuckin naive

  • @ElisaIsra It depends on the person. Some people have addictive personalities and some don't. You can't blame the drugs.

  • @TurquoiseCowboy ooh really? thats your answer? so what do we do now, give everyone the freedom to do drugs, and then count on luck to see whos gonna get addicted (and ruin their lives) and whos gonna enjoy the ride? man this is complete bullshit (with all due respect). I cant blame the drugs youre right, I blame the ignorant ones that do them! lol

  • @ElisaIsra Of course we should give everyone the freedom to do drugs if that's what they choose. But at least you're admitting you hate freedom. People like you think that you know what objective reality is. You ignorantly assume that sober consciousness is objective reality and you don't question our perception. Drugs allow you to explore the universe through different lenses and perceive parts of reality that we can't perseive in sober consciousness. You are closed-minded and boring.

  • @TurquoiseCowboy hey dont start abusing freedom! I will fight for the freedom of discovering the world-which I can do without the help of any drug-I will fight anyone that tries to take the freedom of clear thinking away from me, such as the media, politicians and of course drugs which NO will not help me think clearly. the only closed minded people here are you guys because you refuse to depend on your own minds to explore this world, you need drugs to do so. and you call me boring lol really?

  • @ElisaIsra So you're saying you're able to trip balls without drugs? That's bullshit. There are things you don't understand unless you've done certain drugs. When you're sober, you're viewing the world through one lens. It's a limited point of view. How are you exploring the world if you only look at it from one point of view? Again, we have no idea what objective reality is, so you can't depend on sober perception to give you an accurate portrayal of the world.

  • @TurquoiseCowboy you can reach different states of conciousness. even though drugs like shrooms get u there quicker, meditation in the end will do the same. why woudl you say that is bs? itis not a must, even you should know for some people shrooms would be a bad idea, while meditating brings them slowly to that same point

  • @ElisaIsra small minded may become addicts and (ruin thier lives) a lot of people are born with an addictive personality may it be alcohol ciggrets weed or even collecting beanie babies the only person in control your mind or personality is you i make up my own mind you dont give freedom to take drugs thats stupid you give freedom to be free i refuse that the people that have been on this planet for a blip in existance realy no what thier talkin about you give freedom to discover your own life

  • @goochi2121 whatever that may be from a drug user not a drug abuser now iv told that beanie babies are addictive and may ruin your life you better keep well clear as you have no say in where your life is going only whats expected of you

  • @TurquoiseCowboy damn fuckin right! \m/ \m/

  • @MCshlthead Those people would be lazy anyway with or without the drugs. i also know many "sober" people who just lay around all day playing x-box. indecisive and unhappy. i also know many many creative and productive "drug users". its not the drug, its the person. give the lazy person drugs, he'll just have better "lazy time". give the productive persons drugs he'll go about doing he's business anyway....if not more creative.

  • @xafez great comment, quite true.

  • @MCshlthead you should listen to what TurquoiseCowboy has to say, he's right.

  • can somebody please show me a female comic that does this style of comedy. you know what i'm talking about hicks, carlin, doug stanhope etc. just one chick that does it i'd be in love

  • @MagicMalky you dont like womans?

  • @chillyzi you clearly have a fine grasp on the english language. go back and read it again

  • "We can help feed and educate the poor of the world," -Yeah, I like that!

    "...and explore space." -Wait, what?!

  • the end was awsome!

  • I kinda felt like he was a preacher!

  • If Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's PB of the "Preacher-Dixie Fried" brought you here, represent. Garth and Steve have offered yet another perspective. If I may "Boo-Yaa."

  • @centaur6ify Was hoping I'd see another fan here.

Cheers brother, you hit the nail on the head.

  • This video, the people who like it, and the people who relate with the top comment are living proof of the constant development and surging of young, bright and unlimited minds who wil change the stupid and meaningless way humans waste their life to today.

  • How did one of the best stand-up comedy routines I've ever seen suddenly turn into one of the best speeches I've ever heard from one minute to the other? This man is legendary.

  • @Zyphes It's called truth and that's the reaction when you hear truth :)

  • and people think he's funnier than carl barron?

  • Don't watch "what the bleep do we know". It's pseudoscience.

  • @albarfield04 It's all based on quantum physics and just spiritual experiences.

  • The documentary "what the bleep do we know" confirms what bill says in this clip. Check it out and enjoy the ride.

  • i've never seen alex jones and bill hicks in the same room

  • @caxzrockz Probably coz Hicks can do without Alex Jones's fear mongering. He gets it, were fucked. Hicks wasn't interested in learning more about the prison, he was after the key!

  • yes, happy Bill-day to ya all!

  • Comment removed

  • wow he does look and act like alex jones lol

  • @JL0183 You are kidding me, lol :D

  • @KaiTendo174 no, im actually serious lol

  • @JL0183 fine, I agree... :DDD

  • I need to talk to Bill

  • 211 people watched this clip through the Eyes of Fear.

  • Doors of perception

  • Thanks Bill

  • Lsd is one hell of a ride, would love to have rolled with bill. What a leg-end

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL HICKS!!!! RIP U FUNNY MUTHERFUCKER

  • Thanks for everything Bill. This was when your fame was only rising. Could the world be better if you were still here. R.I.P Bill Hicks

  • well this ride fucking sucks and I want off

  • 'remember.. it's just a ride..' - Bill Hicks, R.I.P <3 x

  • Happy Birthday Bill!

  • It's just a ride I have to keep telling myself this over and over

  • happy birthday! "we can change it any time we want"

  • I would love to have this guy arguing for Ron Paul.

  • Happy birthday Bill and thank you...

  • Don't worry, it's just a ride :)

  • Happy Birthday, Bill!

  • Bill would have been 50 today. Fucking young death. Great pity.

  • Happy Birthday, Bill!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL!!

  • RIP Bill Hicks

  • @USgovernmentLies

The world is heavier, but the spirit is richer.

  • @ChrisHodges22 When has the world not been heavy? For Bill Hicks it was heavy, just like all of us.

  • @ChrisHodges22 nah man for bill hicks it was a ride. he just said it, i never realized he is that smart before, he actually knows what he is talking about

  • This is what I watch to regain my sanity.

  • "Good evening brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors, vibrations in the mind of the one true god, whose name is Love."

Google 'Truth Contest' and check out the entry 'The Present'. What it says will turn this world around.

  • @jzs1501 Actually I think the true name of God is Good.

  • @YoonzeRibran Although since Love is Good I assume it doesn't make a difference

  • god on a stick! Bill Hicks would have had a ball with this stupid bitch with those huge titties. She goes and puts a trumpet or flute or something between her tits. Then proceeds to blow and 'play' her instrument. Badly!

I mean, not a music major you know. There are soooo many fuck-tards out there it's like there's an endless amount of ammunition for comedians to feed off.

  • @slimininin

    trollfacedotjpeg my friend..... trollfacedotjpeg!

  • @slimininin BILL HICKS: December 16, 1961 – February 26, 1994. DANE COOK BORN 1972. This guy was around before Dane Cook and he had some really great point of views. If anything Dane Cook is a Bill Hicks rip off. I disagree either way.

  • @ckieks yeap and dane cook sucks actually not very funny or imformative just a CRPRATE BITCHHHH!!

  • Whenever I need inspiration I watch this video.

  • 205 people invested in this ride lol SHUT HIM UP!

  • Comment removed

  • everything this guy says insepct becouse stand up comic have a great way of hypnotysing you and becouse you laugh you do not realy inspect things with your rational mind!

  • wait someone else says that exact same LSD line "realized that we are all one consciousness...vibbrations...etc etc". wheres that from? (and is he quoting them or did they quote him?)

  • @happybirthdayto007 some documentry on psyhedelics/existance used this words spoken by bill, and i guess it has also been used in some music. but those are not his words:P this is fundamental truth of every religion and existance

  • yea positive drugs story. probably are. I have been on them they have fucked my life and everybody I know. the problem with lsd or X is that the experience is realy great but it is to great so you can not get a kick like that in normal way so you get adicted.AND IN THE FACT THAT EXPERIENCES ON DRUGS ARE SO GREAT IS WHERE THE REAL DANGER LIES REALY. but do what you want, hope you will be smarther than me.

  • @smallpotatoes989 LSD isn't addictive by the way. Just make sure if you're going to have a hard/hallucinogenic drug experience, you do it somewhere safe/have someone with you and do your research.

  • @Luke6511 yea but the experience would be better than anything I would ever have right? so I would want more. that is where the danger lies.

  • @smallpotatoes989 True, just guess you need to control yourself, anything can be habit forming e.g. alcohol. Drug education needs altering from 'ALL DRUGS ARE BAD' to 'If you are going to do drugs, you should do your research'. Sometimes a drug gets a lot more of the blame than the actual user.

  • @Luke6511 I have never tried lsd but everything else. I will take your word.but I have had some friends that used lsd for long times and now they are in the mental institutions with deamons in their heads. so they are dangerus but they can do great things too

  • @smallpotatoes989 HAHAHAHAHA Deamons? DEAMONS DON'T EXIST. Cite a legitimate disease, then we'll actual believe you. Do not post shitty strawmen.

  • @smallpotatoes989 you are actualy wrong. you cant take lsd more often than once every 2 weeks, and it will work shitty anyway. the best way to enjoy lsd and other triptamines is taking them once for 1-3 months, then you will live happy life. cocaine is addictive that way, as you say, or opioids, or amphetamine, or alcohol or benzodiazepines. but lsd and other for example shrooms shouldnt be called drugs in my opinion. more councioussness expander. tested on myself, helped me

  • @knapz0r I will take your word for it I tried everything even shrooms once the experience was amazing but I was not intelectual then or spiritual person.I was siting in a bar I was totaly counces not like alcho, and I could not belive. People playing the pool were moving around with hyper speed and they left sort of light after them like those space ships you see going realy fast. I turned to my buddy and asks him if he sees that and he said: I am flying.so it was great, but horse is bad

  • @smallpotatoes989 how much you ate?

  • @knapz0r do not remeber, that was 10 years ago, I have been on heroin too, but am off all of that for about 4-5 years. but never lsd, becouse we could not get it in our country.

  • This guy is my hero. I'm sure his death was a conspiracy, cancer is man made.

  • @AdamElseify Yeah ... we think similar. Strange.

It seems people who talk the truth always seem to end up dead.

  • amazing

  • Yo can anyone clarify whos actually done LSD whether or nor what he said about how LSD makes you think like the fake death shit

  • @ImaBluntBeingSmoked That's not the acid. That's life my man haha. Don't do acid if your psyche isn't ready.

  • @ImaBluntBeingSmoked it makes you think and it makes you realize the truth. different people with have different experiences and come away with different realizations. all I can tell you is if you go into it in a good mood, in a good setting, with a good friend or two going with you, and you have an open mind, then you will learn things about yourself and the world if you get a good dose.

it's like this: you're a chimp, you take something that briefly gives you the spirit & mind of a human

  • WHAT A FUCKIN LEGEND!

  • Wake up my friends, we're almost there... 'Human greed' is not human nature... There's enough food/water for everyone on the planet!... 'Human greed' is a symptom of the "money as debt" system set up by the banks.... We are being used as a resouce and people are waking up to this all over the world. Do the research. Watch 'Max Igan - The Awakening' or 'Esoteric Agenda'... Or even some David Icke! It's time we woke up to our infinite universe and infinite consciousness. R.I.P Bill Hicks xx

  • @Marronisince1990 So fucking happy to see a post like this.

  • who in their right mind couldn't agree?????

  • thumbs up if you think that the new youtube design is shite

  • I discovered Bill Hicks before Tool and Zeitgeist. That being, it wouldn't matter in which order I found them. They're all awesome.

  • What a great man.

  • @smallpotatoes989: and also, how is he stupid because "he did not make it"!?.... He died of cancer you ignorant bastard!. Learn How to type proper English!!

  • @smallpotatoes989: LSD actually made stop drinking like a fool!. It showed me how it can damage my body and make me have a beer belly!haha. I hit the gym 3 to 4 times a week now. Getting ripped!haha. But your point proven WRONG with my story. Psychedelic drugs shouldn't even be called drugs, they're tools!. Tools of perception. Too much of anything is bad, but use a tool wisely & you'll have a fun exciting life!. I <3 LSD

  • @1trueslayer fuck yeah bro!

  • @1trueslayer the same was for me, but in my case it were mushrooms. Turn on, tune in, drop out!

  • Hi I`ve found this movie "American the Bill Hicks history" but the subs are in english only. I want to translate the subtitles to polish so I can show it to all my friends :-) anyone colud help me with that? you don`t have to know not even one polisch world to help me, but I`m sure that you know one of polish word :-) the one that everybody knows :-) kur.. :-) so if you would like to help, please send me a message to rafalzel@o2.pl

  • Cough cough cough cough cough cough, shut the fuck up and cover your mouth you fuck.

  • A great man.

  • lawofone.info

    Peace!

  • He was soooo ahead of his time.

  • o come on drugs are in all ways bad. look how many lives they destory!!! heroin adict, and even alchohol and cigarets are simply not good in any way!

  • @smallpotatoes989 destory? really?

  • @psyourvideosucks yes. a and when he talks about realization that we are one councesnes those are nothing about halucinations, they are not called hallucigen drugs for not reason.and besides listening to bill is stupid, becouse he did not make it, he was just to lazy, weak and scared to play the game of life. he did not like the game, but he presented the idea of the world: What are we all suppose to do what he belives is right? that are idealist for you, they turn in to dictators usualy.

  • @smallpotatoes989

    hope is troll

  • That message at the end is so true.

  • Thumps up if Zeitgeist brought you here

  • @elchris369 How did Zeitgeist bring you here? ^^

  • @JOBERALA The last 2:30 mn he says in the end of the 1st zeitgeist film

  • Like if Tool brought you to Bill Hicks :D

  • Bill hicks is my hero.

  • that is exactly what acid is like

  • Brilliant man, incredibly funny, simply a LEGEND. As much love as he's got, still extremely underrated
