And legal drugs. I've seen more people "hooked" on legal drugs and ruin themselves, including my mother. Why did my mother become an addict of alcohol and prescription drugs ("legal") while I occasionally do weed, acid, coke and alcohol and not succumb? It's not the "drug" per se. Maybe it's the person.

When you're sober, you're viewing the world through one lens. It's a limited point of view. How are you exploring the world if you only look at it from one point of view? Again, we have no idea what objective reality is, so you can't depend on sober perception to give you an accurate portrayal of the world.
