It's still a movie and and Alberto, for those who did not notice, singing that way on purpose(It's fake, it's acting, probably to show later how did he improved:))
Grandisimo Schipa!!!!!; Alfredo Kraus told me that he was an admirer of the maestro." Always prefer a "great singer" than a great voice he said"...he was so rigth!!!
If the VOICE TEACHERS (?) of today would only LISTEN to SCHIPA, about whom the great GIGLI, SAID, "ALL" TENORS SHOULD TAKE THEIR HAT OFF TO SCHIPA," maybe it would be possible to RETURN to the GOLDEN PERIOD of SINGING
@796824 Well said and I totally agree. Schipa's art of singing with complete vocal freedom was based on the spoken word, expressed truly and always respecting the composer. As he put it, singing is a very easy concept because it and speaking are one and the same. The great difficulty though is for the student to completely believe that it is that simple. The truth is that we are all vocally free (if we can speak with clarity) but it is our minds that put the hurdles up. This film is a treasure!
@avvocatogorgia VERISSIMO ME NE SONO ACCORTA...SINCERAMENTE TITO SCHIPA QUANDO PARLAVA AVEVA UNA CADENZA ORRIBILE....TUTTO IL CONTRARIO DI COME CANTAVA!
La canzone è il tema principale del film, "Ti voglio tanto bene" di Giovanni Danzi

this is like the worst teacher, I think he needs patience, sentiment and heart towards his student.
"you don't know how to breath" well then explain how...."misplace your voice"...soooo where should I place it?
