  • Your vid is a favorite on Suriname

  • Does anybody knows where download or watch online all this opera?

  • He's the man. He sings like no other.

  • unbelievable performance beautiful

  • seems to be a walz..? which one is it?

  • Tengo 13 años i me encanta la opera !! :)

  • This song and the voices are simply amazing! The whole opera is!

  • The staging and campiness is delicious!

  • @lohphat It looks like a gathering of traders in Geneva.... just missing the choir doing lines of coke... :-)

  • This is amazing.

But I prefer the one by the Three Tenors ;)

  • I love this version....it's fabulous

  • she is the most beautiful violetta i've seen

  • With due respect to Netrebko and Villazón, this is just so-so. There are several superior versions of this old classic right here on You Tube. Skip this one and check them out.

  • @frisco21

100% d'àccord ... just my opinion! AND - I really wonder why nobody mentioned yet:

there is no single singer - nor on my 4 LaTraviata CD's nor here on youtube - except

Netrebko (in all records) doing this awful breath break/mistake at 1.37 and 1.47 ....

I really think it's annoying and disturbing to the aria

  • Love it, love it, love it=)

  • What a simple cast but a toast-worthy ensemble!

  • Honestly.....this is a little insane. What were they attempting to get across here? I saw a modernized take on the ending of Don Giovanni which was tasteful and actually conveyed a larger idea. It was though provoking. This just seems lazy and like they didn't want to do the work to stage it properly. Or decently. Well sung though.

  • This staging is all fucked up.

I mean you don't have to always do a mid-nineteenth century drawing room but this is ridiculous.

  • I never listened opera before because I thought it was bad, but after listening to La Traviata saw that opera can be as cool as I really like heavy metal :D

    Two Thumbs Uppp!

  • Thumbs up if you came here looking for the song from Rat Race :)

  • Großartig!!!

  • Well done to all you young opera lovers. You have discovered something that will enrich your life for years to come. Opera speaks to so many of the senses and involves the emotion in a way, I believe, that no other art form can. I've loved it since my teens and at 60+ I still find it thrilling to discover a new opera, a new singer or a new performance. Enjoy all it has to offer and don't worry what your friends are saying - they're the ones missing out !

  • Bravo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is this the reason people are generally negative of musicals?

  • she can sing yes but she cannot act ..

  • What are they saying?? O que eles estão dizendo?

  • @SheSingsBroadway @ke7ejx @rpgmaster947 @AceofGallifrey @amaratheangel We should all just be best friends kay? x']

  • she's so beautiful in this video!!!

  • we are singing this song in my music class , libiamo everyone!!

  • What a hoe

  • @TheAllmightykevin LMFAO!!!!!!!!! WELLLLL, person, the opera IS about a prostitute. (-_-)

Poor Fool, You Make Me Laugh...

(For anyone who didn't get the reference, that's a pseudo-aria from Phantom of the Opera.)

  • 2:06

  • Godiamo ci invita un fervido accento lusinghier!

  • She is gorgeous beyond belief.

  • Hello there Operafans!

Can anyone tell me what song this is in this clip?!!?!

    Monster.com "Doubletake"

    thanx for the help

  • he is from mexico,

  • I liked

  • Hi I have a chance to see either La Traviata or Aida.

Can anybody give me any advice on which we should go to. My partner and I are both novices to opera

  • this guy has really learned how to copy domingo's voice

  • Is really nice this video thanks uploader

  • See and hear Violetta Villas .

And then current rate of recording of the aria :Libiamo" from La Traviata

  • This is the tenth time of me replaying this over and over again... :)

  • I'm 15. I honestly used to hate opera. After I heard this, I fell in love with it

  • @norwegiangrieg Good choice!

  • Total boob grab at 1:52-1:57 lol

  • i love how her dress is the same color as the couch

  • Who knew that Opera could be so sexy?

  • wasn't this in The Punisher? the 3 people are dancing and the big greman guy and the guy are fighting in the background? love it

  • I wish i were in that guy's place at 2:00

  • @Bulliwylf me too ;)

  • Wiily Decker-homo!_!_!????

  • her voice has certainly changed a lot. she's lyric here.

  • It also has a fuller sound when she gained weight after the baby.

  • She has a lyric voice and it darkens with age. The color is higher than Callas' and this sets them apart. Netrebko has the power or tenderness when she wants.

  • @tumtillia A lyric voice that darkens with age becomes a dramatic soprano.

  • She has a voice to be admired as one of the best sopranos.

  • Interesting staging, just a couch.

  • They're very good! It blew me away!

  • Perfeito.

  • @solistamadora oh you fucking grammar expert you... perfetto

  • As a teen in love with opera, I must admit that it is really difficult to find people my own age to relate to when it comes to taste in music. It's nice to be able to come onto youtube and find people who enjoy music like this.

I absolutely adore Verdi, and believe that Anna's voice is positively gorgeous, and Villazon's.. so powerful. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • @SheSingsBroadway my dear, you're not alone. i was the only kid in the kindergarten years ago. i used to tell the synopsis of verdi, pucini, wagner's to ..not fellow kids..but to teachers who listened in amazement. so don't feel you're the only one.

  • @SheSingsBroadway thats funny, for me...the problem is finding ppl who also sing opera like i do at the teenage. verdi is amazing, i think aida is a notch higher than la traviata (only bc of the story line). and mozart has awesome opera's too, bc theyre all pivoted around baritone singers (kuz i sing baritone)

  • @SheSingsBroadway you spoke out exaclty what I experience as well ;) thanks

  • @SheSingsBroadway Totally agree! Is incredible to find people like you and me, teen that loves Opera as music! I love Opera!

  • I'm no longer a teenager, but from an early age I loved opera!!! :)

  • @SheSingsBroadway I know, I've been there :o) I too can do without the prejudices! I'm now 22 years old and finally I run into people of my age who 'kind of' like classical music. But just hang in there: I guess they need to learn to listen beyond the obvious :o) If I'm correct, Anna Netrebko likes hip hop music as well! Now there's an example, someone without prejudices :o)

By the way: if you like Verdi and Anna, you should enjoy this: watch?v=prWcQykIPtk&feature=related.

  • @SheSingsBroadway I had the same experience when I was a teen.

  • @SheSingsBroadway I had the same experience when I was a teen. I was into also classical, jazz, country, and many others.

  • @SheSingsBroadway I'm a teen, and I'm studying opera!! At 18 years old, I have a huuuuge wait in front of me, but like you, I enjoy coming onto YouTube and finding like minded people to support what I'm setting out to do.

  • @SheSingsBroadway I totally get you! Im also a teen and love different art forms that my peers really dont get, they think im just stuck up! Its difficult but thankfully I have my choir instructor that encourage my love!

  • @SheSingsBroadway i'm a teen too, loves opera especially by Richard Strauss but Verdi is in my line too.

  • @SheSingsBroadway awww, you're so mature.

  • @SheSingsBroadway I completely agree, it's impossible to find anyone your own age who wants to go see the opera :(. a little depressing. but i think it's so exciting, it's everything you could want in one.

  • @SheSingsBroadway I'm 16 and I agree with you. I'm Spanish, and in my highschool is very difficult or imposible to find people who like listening opera.

  • @SheSingsBroadway Agreed ! Been in love with opera for many years now, but never found anyone else besides my (older) family to go with me! But since I've openly expressed my love by shouting it over the rooftops (lol), lot's of classmates/colleages at work want to come with me, since they've never seen opera before (shame on them! lol). But I would love to find someone who has the same love for opera as me :) We should all start a teen forum for opera !

  • @SheSingsBroadway i agree. i get looks as a 19 year old who listens to opera. Im continuing to broaden my horizen in this respect but its amazing. i wish more people our age listened to stuff like this.

  • @SheSingsBroadway im only 13 and i LOVE operas... i always have to talk 2 my teachers or parents/parents friends about them:) ive seen 7 already. im like obsessed. lol

  • @SheSingsBroadway I like opera too and I'm 14 Years old :)

  • @SheSingsBroadway It is the exact same situation with me. I'm 17 and I love opera so, so much and no one else my age understands why

  • @SheSingsBroadway i have to admit im a teen as well and u know it does suck that hardly any of my friends woudl be able to accept opera. they'd probably think im crazy but i think its beautiful <3

  • @SheSingsBroadway I'm 19. Adore opera. Doesn't it suck how hard it is to find people who get it in our age group?

  • @SheSingsBroadway same goes here. For my friends I'm a weirdo for listening to opera.

  • @SheSingsBroadway I hear you there. I've been listening to Opera since I was 2 and in High School my classmates thought me strange because of it. :)

  • @SheSingsBroadway

I say God bless you. Keep loving what you love and know that we who love true music are still out there.

  • @SheSingsBroadway

    I completly agree with you...

  • @SheSingsBroadway dont worry about it, i have loved opera for since i can remember, kids are dumb, if they think you're weird then they are stunted, opera will last a lot longer than pop music, pop music is expressionless and basic at best. Opera is love, life and eternal.

  • @SheSingsBroadway I'm sorry their aren't many people your age to talk to about this wonderful music. Don't feel to bad though. I'm in my 20's and people still think I'm nuts. XD

  • Interesting

  • I believe that its not right to expect coloraturas from Netrebko who sings with her huge, full voice and open troat. If somebody wants coloratura singing violetta he must listen to June Anderson for example. As for me, I love Netrebkos voice and her ample power in whole diapason.

  • @gman20101 I agree with you, Anna's strength is not coloratura. But she can do coloratura arias very well. Just listen to her Sonnambula - Care compagne - from her CD Opera Arias - you would be AMAZED!!! Unfortunately it is hard to find on the internet, but I heard people done this. Otherwise, her CD is about $10 on Amazon

  • @09avenger I have 2 her DVDs including my favourite La Traviata and I should like to buy all her DVDs and CDs

  • @09avenger, thanks for your comment - aren't we lucky to be able to listen to her magnificent voice? I also heard her live several times - that was an unforgettable experience, no one can be compared to her with her round, evenly produced golden sound!

  • haha that crowd is full of women in suits...

  • Netrebko is great actress. Look at her eyes at 2.06-2.07! She surpasses any Hollywood moviestar in acting

  • Anna, your coloratura is a MESS.

  • wow shes hot

  • Great production of a famous number.

  • He is perfect, she gasps too much

  • the best drinking song ever. it should be mandatory that everyone in the audience drinks during the Drinking Chorus.

  • that chorus group is hilarious.

  • The video was very good with the voices and you can play the violin with the music.

  • The video

  • well the singing is amazing! the set is just a little too modern for my taste....

  • @Zombiemuffins13 I wouldn't call it modern, I'd call it tacky. They need to stop "modernizing" things that aren't modern to begin with and stick to what it's about. This is in no way capturing my attention the way the original does. Terrible though the singing is great.

  • he is like sooooooo ugly but netrebko is just gorgeous!!!!

  • Wow, it gave me chills. They're all really talented. :D

  • Wish the clapping was cut :(

  • Rolando Villazon is Mexican!!! very amazing, in Mexico the are talents

  • un gran mexicano y una gran mujer

  • un gran mexicano y una gran mujer

  • Anna Netrebko by THE LOVE OF GOD, AND NOT ALREADY Allows maa10able, 09avenger, ad80ad, spqrmor and others, will them CONTINUE with your STUPID mantra , BECAUSE AGAIN come back "you-know-who."

In the dictionary there is one word: Masochism.

  • BYE, BYE Striker9410

    you have lost the fight.

    Filaredos and all friends

    of Anna are the winner!!!

    LMAO.......... you loser!

  • Poor work by Anna.

  • I love you. Anna!

  • Anna, you are a gift from God!

  • Bravo!

  • WOW! Bravo!

  • I have never seen a more artistic Libiamo, ne' lieti calici. It's cool.

  • Villazon is so hot!

  • he's not hot, he's gorgeous!

  • He looks like mr. bean.

  • I doubt it. Many times they have microphones just to enhance the quality in the hall.

  • I listen to the song for the song and if it sounds go to me then great and if not i don`t listen again. But in all cases i would love to sing like any of them, now i do read what poeple write and some do say not very nice things about the singer but my question is can you sing that well then if you can great i will see your name up in lights soon...and for you you say these singers are c**p i wish i was that bad i would make a good liveing out of it . .

SIE IST DIE BESTE!!!

  • Traviata - Ms. Netrebko displayed ample power, coloratura bravura with a marvelous tone Having recently heard Natalie Dessay sing Sempre Libera at the Met Gala, one was impressed by the legato nature of Netrebko's portray in contrast to Dessay's intentional staccato, fragmented phrasing interpretation. Having also seen photos of Fleming in her current Violetta at the ROH, one can only marvel at Netrebko's resilience, endurance and commitment to bel canto opera.

  • Comment removed

  • I can`t see why Netrebko is called 'shit,' I enjoyed both simgers. I don`t like drawing comparisons between male and female singers, however I must say that

Villazon was the most impressive; a really great tenor and we have years of this great voice ahead of us.

  • And again: Villazon is one of the best tenors ever. Anna Netrebko one of the best sopranos ever. I do not see where is the problem

  • Villazon is great, Netrebko is shit.

  • Wo wohnst Du?

  • what a great orchestra. they dont give in to the temptation to sit into the rythm

  • Smart ass at 1:50.

Guess there is never a bad time for boobies.

  • it doesnt matter about all people singing this song

  • oh all of them r men and 1 woman

  • I love the stage director's idea of having a violetta surronded only by male guests! It is quite clever and very inventive and it changes a little bit the views we usually have on violetta!

  • Not exactly, we know that she was a high class courtesan. La Traviata can be translated as a lost women.

  • she did kind of screw up her entrance slightly, just noticed that
