will msi aburner work even its not an msi graphic card?

  • @inflexiblegroove Yes. The only reason it's called MSI Afterburner, is because MSI made the program. It can be used for any brand gpu.

  • @TechExpertZ hey i have a big promplem it says me failed to initialize diplay driver wrapper help me

  • To move your fan bar you need to untick that Auto box over where is says Max and then you will be able to move your fan bar Hope it works :)

  • hi i got nvidia gt 540m and intel i7 2630qm what settings should i use??

  • HELP

trying to overlock gainward gtx570 when i join bf3 after overclock even if i only slightly overlock i get blank screen what shud i do?

  • @giberish1986 lower the clocks until you stop getting black screen.

  • I'm going to sound stupid for saying this...

I have Intel HD Graphics 3000

    CPU Intel i7 2620M

and 8GB of RAM on an ACER Aspire 7750Z

When I try to run Afterburner I get the "Afterburner failed to initialize display driver wrapper" error message. My graphics driver is updated to its latest verson, I guess my computer doesn't have the right parts to use it, or do I need to reinstall the graphics driver?

  • @MalixDexide you can't overclock integrated graphics. not very easily at least.

  • Im playing SWTOR and in some way my fps to low in some points here is my spec

Video Adapter AMD Radeon HD 6850 (1024 MB) DDR5

    RAM 8GB DDR 1600 mhz

    CPU AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 651 Quad-Core Processor, 3000 MHz

is way to boost my fps ?

  • @FAAZYFBABY thats unusual. I'm running SWTOR with a 2.6 ghz phenom II x6, a gtx 550 ti, and 8gb ddr3 and i can get up to 110 fps and never lower than 45. Maybe your gpu is underclocking due to temperature issues. is your case well cooled?

  • Comment removed

  • Eeehmm.. Could you please tell me what a proper overclock is for the amd HD6850?

  • can i use this on an sapphire card (5570) ?

  • @germancreeper98 yes you can use it on anything

  • would it be worth doing this ati radeon hd5450 1gb

  • i5 CPU M520 @ 2,40 GHz

    4GB Ram

    64 Bit

    GeForce GT 330M

What would be my best settings?

  • @sunsunsuninaustria dont bother over-clocking an on-board chipset there will be no performance gain

  • Whats the best settings for a GTS 450?

  • do you have to have an MSI card?

  • 3:02 was tat ur blender or ur gpu???

  • i have a 8800GTX cards, how can i add a stable oc settings for this card?

  • um, my driver version doesn't come up. Is that a problem? My card is an ati mobility radeon 4500/5100 512 mb.

  • where is the site?

  • sorry which site to go?

  • awesome video....thanks a lot and keep uploading more of such videos it was great help.

  • it says zero for my memory clock, and I can't move it...what am I doing wrong?

  • Graphics card:GeForce 8600 GT

    driver version:8.17.12.8562. ForceWare 285.62

soo what is the best setings for me?

  • Amd Phenom 8550 triple core processor 2.20GHz

    4.00gb ram

    nvidia gs210

what would be my best settings?

  • @dazzerd I would upgrade your graphics card. There's no point in overclocking yours.

  • I dont understand any of this...

  • If this shortens the life of your laptop inards, why do it??? I can't see the worth in this.... Right?

  • but mine are already on max!

  • I overclocked my gpu using afterburner and the average card temp has gone from 60degrees C to 85degrees C. Is this too high? :P Nice vid btw :P

  • i never overcloked but its maxed out i cant do more i got just 500 mem and 680 Mhz

  • Can you kill the GPU by using the MSI afterburner incorrectly?

  • Is there anyway that I can remove the fan limit because I'm thinking of turning it to around 80% but mine goes up to 74%???

  • @VaginalBeans I have never encountered that before. You should research around the internets.

  • @TechExpertZ I can't take my fan speed higher then 85% percent on my GTX 580. Why is that?

  • @TechExpertZ When I overclocked my GPU do I have to apply the settings everytime I startup?

  • @VaginalBeans your lucky i cant even move my fan bar :'(

  • @VaginalBeans It will be locked by Bios i think, so the only way would be to flash a new Bios (not advisable)

  • You didn't mess with voltage at that setting? :o

  • @MrBones2525 Nope, and it never crashed!

  • Can i use this program just to get that TEMP thingy on top?

  • @coms758 yup.

  • hey thanls for the help but ive got a question . I have a Zotac 9500 GT. I have got a program called zotac firefox with which i overclock , but htis program seems more handy and impressive . can i use this with my zotac card?

  • @alexandertopposimply Yes you can! :D

  • Does this only work for the graphics card? or does it also do the CPU

  • @Doof3rproductions Only graphics card.

  • Hey .. my pc is kind of new and i would like to overclock my gtx 560 NON Ti so i get better performance on battlefield 3 ... im just to nervous to overclock it and scared.. ive never done it before and im afraid ill burn something... can you plz give me advice and step to step instructions of doing it? Help plz

  • @MrSofoklis12 I'd just download this program and look on forums for other people who have overclocked your specific card. I can't really help you on this as i've not got this particular gfx card.

  • @TechExpertZ this is what i did : core clock from 810 to 950 and fan speed to 50.i get 60-63 temperature. is this ok?

  • Should I uninstall Catalyst Control Center when I install MSI AB?

  • @suprshin I would keep both of them just because CCC is part of the driver. However, only overclock using one program as it'll cause conflicting instructions and thus raise your risk of a BSOD.

  • @suprshin No leave it :D There is no need to uninstall catalyst as AB isnt a control centre substitute...

  • Wrong....it worked!!! I just overclocked it a bit...hope it wont heat up to much....

  • Doesn't work for NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT

  • i hafe nvidia geforce asus gts 450 but mi friend set it can like let ure pc crash can it

  • @zamorakmage2010 Overclocking anything does give the risk of crashing. If you OC it too much, it will crash. You need to find the 'happy medium'

  • I don't have any fan speed is that bad? D:D:D:

  • @Bobaloobi im having same trouble, i run a n Nvidia GTX 550 Ti, and i cant boost my gpu fan speed running skyrim i have seen temps 65c+ and my gpu fan wont go over 40%

  • @TheDh0ffryn My fan doesn't seem to work at all. :(

  • i saw titties.

  • can the msi afterburner show temps and fps at the corners of the screen while playing games? is so how? thx in advance

  • GeForce GTX 460 HAWK

  • i run mine at :CC 921 nhz (one time 1k) SC 2 CC and MC 2k

i play RO2 at ultra settings on 28 inch monitor and the temp is under 60(fan speed less 50% capacity

  • If anyone here has experience with overclocking laptop graphics card with MSI Afterburner please pm me. I'm looking for some insight regarding overclocking a GTX 580M. I have cooling paste on the CPU/GPU and have a cooling pad under the laptop.

  • @hanphilip I overclock the GT540M for the last week, try it.

I put on setting that gave me a blue screen, which is a good thing because You know that setting is just too high.

Generally MSi AB is good I think, since I tried Rivatuner, EVGA Precision, and a few others like nTune which I don't even know how to start.

I have a cool pad as well and the temp never goes more than 65*C, which is perfect.

    My stock spec is:CC672, SC1344, MC900MHz, after OC: 790, shader 1580, mem 975MHz.

  • @hanphilip Generally it goes like this: adjust by 10-20MHz on each value separately and run a game or benchmark and if U see strange objects You know it's too much, so U dial back. I went all the way and the PC froze, so I went back after reboot and set 85% of the previous setting and it's OK, plus the temp is 65-69*C.

So that's it for that I guess, nothing too it, plus U got a great GPU too do that and get some "hot :)" results.

  • @g00dl00kinb0i Thank you for your response. When playing a game, is MAX 85 degrees too much or ok in your opinion? Also, do I just leave the voltage untouched? If no, how should I change the voltage in regard to the x/y/z changes.

  • @hanphilip 85*C is high but keep in mind that most GPU have a max temp of 100*C- at least the GT series does - so You still got some room. I just clocked my GPU: CC 850, SC 1700, MC 1050MHz and my temp went from 69*C to 80-82*C and I can stay like this for hours. The main issue to look for is the objects I told You about before, that mean U'r GPU is struggling with the speed. Clock Yours down a bit and game for 2hr and watch the temps, 85* should b fine but after a while it could give U trouble.

  • @g00dl00kinb0i Thank you, Since you left out talking about the voltage, I assume you didn't touch your voltage settings anything? I will get back to you with my progess thank you for your time.

  • @hanphilip Well U'r right, I didin't touch the voltage. Like I metioned before I have the Mobile GT540 and I read a lot about this and everybody says that Mobile GPU are not to b messed with when it comes to voltage.

In Ur case the same thing applies, even though I've seen articles that tell U how to do it, I don't think I want to risk it. I was thinking of using software to OC the 2410M i5 but also decided against it, too much hassle and not enough verification out there...... Good luck :)

  • Can i overclock the GTX 560m on the ASUS G74SX (which has a great cooling system) ??

  • @thecarrots5 I'm sure you could. Still wouldn't recommend because it's a laptop. But if you must, I would buy one of those cooling pads that have fans on them to help cool even more.

  • @TechExpertZ yeah i know what u mean

i think i will just leave it how it is.. i duno, but would u say 60 deg. C is too hot for running games etc. It's like 30 on idle.

  • @TechExpertZ what is relation between GPU clock and memory clock; on few forums they say memory clock should be 4 times gpu clock what should i use? i have hd 5670

  • @TechExpertZ perfect! thanks! oh and can you help me find my graphics card? msi updated their site and now i have no idea where to go...

  • @WorldatWarWiiFc What graphics card do you have?

  • @TechExpertZ i have an ATI Radeon HD 2400XT

  • so when i overclock, will it last until i reset the clocks, or do i have like a certain time period. no trolling, just answers.

  • @WorldatWarWiiFc No trolling here. It's only over clocked during the time your computer is booted. So if you reboot that over clock is no longer valid and goes away. You essentially have to OC every time you boot. But you can save your profile so you don't have to manually adjust the settings.

  • @TechExpertZ man i need your help really fucking much... look i bought this PC with 2 GPUs and i was messing around testing it and removed one GPU just to see what it can go for... and it should be at 1 GB, and then i check GPU-Z and its at 1024 MB it says, but then on DXDIAG and canyourunit it says 734 MB... why is this? isnt my GPU using all its VRAM or what is it????

  • cant adjust fan speed is it becaue i use a laptop?

  • I have MSI but cant clock my voltage of card what need to do???

  • @Ragnos1997 go into the software settings and allow voltage change.

  • @TechExpertZ

Ima allowed but nothing changed :D

  • @Ragnos1997 Some cards do not allow you to step up the voltages. what Gpu are you using.

  • @SuperRiguy

    Me?

    I use XFX NVidia 8600 GT 512 MB DDR2

Is there any way to do voltaging else MSI afterburner IDK I need that plzz...tell me if you know!!!

    TY:)

  • @Ragnos1997 You might be-able to find a program online but afterburner only allows you to unlock voltages on cards that allow it by default.

My example is I had a HD 6770 the graphics were grate but a little lower then i would have liked so i downloaded afterburner and tried to unlock voltage control i couldn't so 2 days later i just got a new HD 6870 Gpu.

Also what kind of games are you playing.

  • @SuperRiguy

Playing latest games like Crysis 2 and Black Ops and R6 Vegas 2 etc...

  • will this help with dragon age

  • @valmoric Yes, it'll help a little bit.

  • @TechExpertZ anything i can do to help without buying a new card?

  • @valmoric It'll help a little bit, but if your gfx is having a problem, then the only way would be to buy a new card.

  • So I noticed when you ran GPU-Z that the 'current termperature' was lower than 'lowest temperature'. Can you explain that?

  • @lalodub Nope lol, this video's so old though.

  • for me it does not let meychange my fan speed

  • Thanks bro this was usfull ive not actually overclocked yet i dont see the point i got the card yestaday its the msi R5770 but its powerfull enough to do what i need but it will help in the future if i feel like overclocking thanks man subbed!

  • @xWigzx Glad you find my vid useful. :)

  • i can't even play minecraft on my computer without lagg.... i have under a half a year to i get money to by myself a new computer, does this program do so i can play games like minecraft without lagg, and do i get a new pc before this one i have now get's broken or whatever this program does to it???? i need answer Thank you!

  • @MightyArseFace Minecraft is java based. So this will not help you. Java relies heavily on your processor. Your graphics card has very little to do with it in fact.

  • @TechExpertZ ok thank you :)

  • @TechExpertZ what about if i overclock my graphics card without increasing voltages can shorten lifespam or not ?

  • @m3m3t11 Yes it will shorten lifespan because when you overclocking it, it increases the amount of power it has running through it. Overclocking anything shortens lifespan/damages. But they will still last a while if you do.

  • i know how to overclock a computer but what does it really do to the computer?

  • @brandonhughes7 It really depends on how much you overclock it, up the voltages ect. Overclocking can shorten the life or damage the components in your computer.

  • willl it work for nvidia galaxy geforce 9600gt 512mb ????

  • @aeroaa2 It should, but why would you want to :P

  • @TechExpertZ the gpu sometimes get very hot i want to make the fan faster for better cooling

  • question: i move the sliders in either or direction for core clock and shader clock and when i hit apply it goes back to its default settings....please help....im using a nvidia geforce gtx 260m

  • I like your Google Display Picture!

  • is GTX 460 compatible?

  • @TheDecoy1000 yupd

  • when i change the fan speed it doesnt speed up the fan whats the problem?

  • Did a search for afterburner on the MSI website and it said 0 results found!!!!!!!

  • @ItWasntMe456 search on google.

  • @TechExpertZ i was being sarcastic. if you cant find it on the msi website, something is definitely wrong.

  • @gamerleetkrew No 70c dont harm your gpu.

  • @gamerleetkrew Over a period of time yes.

  • Is a mobility radeonHD 5870 compatible?

  • @Joshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh1 I don't think it would be wise to overclock a mobile GPU regardless if it's compatible. But no, I don't think it's compatible.

  • @TechExpertZ But its possible :D I can overclock my GeForce GT525 laptop processor :) And with the afterburner i can earn double FPS, but the 80-90C is too high. and its crushes :( sry for bad english

  • @TechExpertZ Am i right in saying that the Evga V2.0.3 should never have Fan speeds on stratup below 50%. it's just this version everytime i start up my pc when i first launch the Evga to view it the Fan speeds are at a Defualt setting of 40%. i have never come across this before as i have said previously the V2.0 always started up @50% Fan speeds.

  • @GOTHICAMESSAIH No idea, I've never used that program. I'd go to evga's forums and see if someone had similar issues.

  • i cant change the fan speed its blocked

  • @salamandress98x You could not have a supported gfx card.

  • Can you help me? I can't use the core voltage. I have Geforce GTS 250 and my driver version is Forceware 275.33

  • @iPinoyBaller try going into settings and allowing voltage control.

  • @TechExpertZ Yeah I did that, but when I checked the settings, it was already checked.

  • @TechExpert Nvidea Gforce 295GTX

  • @GOTHICAMESSAIH Try browsing through the programs settings. You should see some unlock buttons. But if you have an EVGA card, try EVGA precision.

  • @TechExpertZ well i am using the latest EVGA precision V2.0.3 it does allow me to increase or decrease fan speeds. it just feels like its not doing the trick for me. like all the stats are wrong! the older version v2.0 seemed to work better.

  • @GOTHICAMESSAIH My response to that would be, go to evga's website and see if 2.0 is still available.

  • Cant Acsess Fan speed. wont let me do shit.

  • @GOTHICAMESSAIH what card do you have?

  • ummm how come i cant access the fan speed it wont let me do anything

  • @TheBlueMnM1 you need a 2-slot fan GPU

  • max temp is 47.5 and min 48? how is that even possible? :P

  • @stamatis500 No idea,lol

  • @stamatis500 it can happen depending on your fan control software and case configuration. I originally stacked my case full of 120mm fans but ended up not using half of them as the turbulence inside the case was doing more harm than good. In this case... as the voltage increases, his software tells the fan to spool up, this increasing air flow. Depending on the software, this can be good and bad

  • @stamatis500 It's in Celsius. ~MoNeYINPHX~

  • @GBUKMilo however, that wasn't the point of this video. The point was to show you how to get the software. I do appreciate the video response .

  • Good video, however your not actually showing the best process for finding a realiable overclock setting.

  • @eganmannen no it doesn't

  • does it lag when u record in game ?

  • @BloodstainedMerc Yes it does matter. You're significantly reducing the bandwidth from the card to the motherboard. I would find at least an 8x slot where performance is only slightly reduced. Since it's on a 4x slot, you've divided possible performance by 4

  • Random question: I have 2 hd6970 is xfire. One of them runs in a PCIe of 16x and the other one in only a 4x pci slot. Does it matter if the second one is in a 4x slot?

  • can you overclock gpu through bios?? as msi is software not hardware

  • @scott1506 i'm not really sure on that one. I'm sure some motherboards are able however, mine is not. I would look through forums to see if anyone has done that.

  • i have a 430gt msi hawk whitch is better that or geforce 9500gt? ecs

  • @SuperHackboy 430 by a long shot.

  • @TechExpertZ haha ok i have now 9500gt from elitegroup (that company is shit) so i am going to change it for a msi 430 gt hahaha xD

  • @SuperHackboy Nice! You should see a huge difference in performance!

  • @TechExpertZ obvious that is what i am expecting thx for answering men :)

  • @SuperHackboy That's what I do. :P

  • @TechExpertZ :)

  • Does overclocking continue when Afterburner is closed?

  • @Winterbyte I don't think so as it's just a software overclock, but you can keep it in your taskbar where the program consumes little if any memory.

  • @95928225 when I need more performance I crank my voltage up to 1.3 and 945mhz core and 1335 MHz mem

  • Hey man, what is the most stable OC for msi r5770 with 2 fans.I have it and want to OC it without exceding 1.2v. What clocks do you recommend?

  • @95928225 I can't really say since my 5770 is a bit different than yours. I have the standard PCB with the closed body with one fan. Your's is known for being much cooler, so your's has a higher ocing potential. I would recommend checking forums on your specific model.

  • @TechExpertZ Yeah, I OC my card a little bit to 903mhz core clock and 1233 mhz memory clock, comparing to other guys this OC is ridiculous. My idle T' is 36'C and in 3D mode i get 52'C and it's summer here in my country. I know my gpu can get much performance but im afraid I burn it. The guys in the forums have water cooling, high end mobo,i7 etc so they can reach extreme oc, but i dont have those stuff. My mobo is mid-range, Phenom ii x4 920, 4GB ram, thermaltake contact 29 cpu cooler.

  • is it safe?? after OC card is stable??

I have a 9800GT how much I can OC it??
