@jasincl What if those 4 million German's had not invaded Russia, and focused all of their divisions in Say, France and Africa? I'd say the Allies would have gotten smashed. Germany committed more forces in the East, than the West, and Africa combined. Citizen's death was ethnic cleansing as well, Hitler being against the Slavic cultures. Yet the Jewish people, yet deeply affected by the genocide committed by the Nazi's, still get more credit. 10 million civies compared to 3 million Jews.

The russian military was, actually and still is quite weak, when it came to defeating germany 70% of soldiers were not ethnic russians, when it came to invading Finland 90% were ethnic russians and yet Russia could not break through, out of the satellite states Russia was the weakest.

In 1945, when the Continuation War between Finland - Russia ended in to peace treaty, the finns had to drive the germans out of finland straight in to russia. the finns made a succesfull landing on the beach in oulu and began driving the germans out. Once the germans were driven across the borders they got stuck between crossfire. Finland came from the east, and the russians came from the west to finish them of. A whole division of germans died. It was called the Lapland War in the of WWII.
