Well the "trend" of running a CT on the back of a MC has been around for decades. Back in the late '50's and through the '60,s there simply weren't any wide MC tires for custom bikes. In the past few years running a rear CT is done to get more tire life with minimal handling drawbacks especially on big cruisers. Running a rear MC tire on the front is the same idea. Deeper tread more miles. Besides it makes for a lively conversation!
@marodder it does indeed make lively convo! personally i ride a sports bike and I dont think the radius tread would be sufficient, doesnt it litterally 'drop off' quickly? I can understand the longevity of the tyre but surely the rubber compounds behave very different under load? thanks for the history lesson!
I just put a rear motorcycle tire in the front of my Venture. Have a car tire on the back. So far no issues.

@Imreadingthisaloud I can assure you, it handles BETTER than a MC tire.
