Damned fine playing, overshadowed only by that righteous tone you got. Was going to wtf about the flag, then I saw your comment in the header - all is cool.
I'll try to do it at some point... right now I don't have a 24-fret guitar with a Floyd Rose, so it's a little tough... I have one with 22 frets (although it's currently disassembled), and I could just bend up to that high C# that he hits in the middle, but it wouldn't be the same really. Plus my whammy bar skillz pretty much suck. I mostly use Floyds for tuning stability, not for actual divebombs and whatnot.
Simple, Mark III. Essentially the same as a Mark IV except with a shared EQ between all three channels. Not exactly the same tone, but very close. The difference is it's more aggressive sounding, which isn't a bad thing. They run usually from about 700-900 used. They sound fantastic.
Just do a little research before you buy one. Unlike the Mark IV, which has reverb, simul-class, the 5-band graphic EQ, and other options as standard, Mark IIIs were produced with different options. There are also different "stripes" to indicate different periods of manufacture and/or subtle differences in the power section or preamp section. Basically while all Mark IVs are mostly the same, there are many different Mark IIIs. I'd suggest asking the Harmony Central amp forum, they know a lot :)
Yeah, that solo is completely awesome; one of my favorites. I could play it, but it's very nuanced; to really capture the vibe I think you have to be Hobbs himself. Unlike say the solos from Thrones of Blood or Catatonia, which are relatively more straightforward. But yeah I can kind of wing the solo... I haven't put that much time into it though. Plus I'm nowhere near as handy with a whammy bar as Hobbs. But maybe I'll try a version and post it. :)
No boost or anything except a noise gate. Regarding the tubes, I ended up selling the Mark IV head I had in this video and got the Mark IV combo. I got a good deal on it but it needs to be repaired so I haven't played it in a while. Once it's all fixed up I'll put the JJ/Svet combo in there again because that sound kills.
Thinkpad20 this is Negronic One from the Suffocation Forum. I'm not a musician ( I can do a wicked ass Frank Mullenesque death growl though ) but back when I first started getting into Suffocation this song totally amazed me. Nice fucking cover man! Brutal Fucking Hails!
Nice fuckin job thinkpad20. DoD is the sickest Suffocation tune, especially the first minute or so. Makes me want to smash everything. Anyways, I see you helped the last guy who asked for the tab. Do you have one?
hi i am mexican and i need the tab Depths of Depravity pleaaaaaaaaasss!!!! pleaaaas!!! realy i neeeeed!!! thankss!! enserio si me pueden ayudar se los voy a agradecer
Thanks man! That's a hell of a compliment coming from you; I've been a fan of your playing for a while. I'd submit my Depths tab to Rivers of Gore but there's already one there...
His work on Pierced is insane, but the stuff on Breeding the Spawn is (if possible) even more crazy. Listen to Epitaph of the Credulous, you will be floored...
Yeah it's also one of my all-time favorites. I hope to see them play it live some day. I would go fucking nuts. :D As of right now, I have the honor of having the only Depths of Depravity vid on youtube though. :P
Thanks a lot for the tab, one of their best song and i was looking for it since a long time but can't find it. Stay brutal!

I fucking love this tone. You use a boost or something? I didn't know the mark IV had this much gain.
00Orbit00 3 years ago
Oh yes, it has as much gain as you could want. :) No boosting, just guitar -> amp.
thinkpad20 3 years ago
Yeah, but it's too damn expensive :/ You know any cheaper alternatives with a tone sorta like the mark IV? What about an ENGL fireball?

@thinkpad20 I had the mark III it doesnt compare to the Mark IV. The mark Iv is a more precise tone
