Do you get guns in this game? I'd hate to think this horror will be faced with simple melee & edged weapons. I've never played a silent game so I'm curious.

The new Kinect is NOT a Ps2 EyeToy. it is capable of much more. For instance the Kinect detects body motion in 3 dimensions.

I never found any Silent Hill that scary. Don't get me wrong, I fucking LOVE the Silent Hill series, especially the atmosphere and the story. But I never was scared playing any of the games.

that L shaped Flashlist is used by the Military as well because its designed to have a really reliable Clip that holds onto a pocket, strap, what have you on a Shirt or Jacket.. so its not like "Glued" or Placed there out of carelessness.. cause thats fairly accurate.. it does look kinda wack considering what is that a trench coat? but hey.. cant be perfect on Everything.
Yeah, I guess it makes sense, but like you said, Alex was wearing a trench coat, so.
I don't know because in other games I always see more common lights like someone holding it in his hand. The flashlight in Silent Hill seemed weird to me :P

Okay, Fearichi, I'll tell you a little bit of SH history.
In the game, a fire destroyed the town of Silent Hill about thirty years back. The cause of the fire is unknown. Ever since that fire, people said that it opened a gate to Hell (or so I think), and that caused numerous Demons to inhabit the town.
The real cause of it all was a woman named Dahlia Gillespie tryed to get her daughter to give birth to God, but it all went wrong when their house caught fire.
Alessa was saved from the fire By Travis Grady, and taken to Silent Hill were dahlia planned to finish her ritual
You are on the right track but the house didn't set on fire what happened was Alessa was a failed project so they tried to burn her to unleash her powers but that went wrong too so Dahlia tried to do it again by having another baby, Cheryl. Who u save in the first game but Alessa's powers somehow unleashed an evil power on silent hill and thats when all the creepy stuff happens and they were'nt trying to birth "God" but the fallen angel named Gabriel...
You're almost right. They were burning her as a part of the ritual but her powers were released and brung upon the Otherworld Silent Hill, Cheryl was also made at that time as a sort-of reincarnation of Alessa showing her innocence. ^^
well in this game theres this guy named alex and he is having nightmares about hi brother josh so he comes to his hometown to see if hess ok but all these monsters are invading the town through some kind of hellstate becase of this cult of some sort so eventually he has to go to silent hill to figure out what the hell is going on. and thats as much i can tello you about the game without spoiling it. colrrect me if im wrong
uhm, dont take it bad, but since you're using a guide, you should use the map, it marks the doors that cant be opened or are broken, also openings in the walls and stuff. I've played every single silent hill except this one, but i guess its gotta be pretty much the same like the others (with innovations of course).
gotta keep the parts as short as possible here on youtube. if i didn't use a guide, there would be hours of pointless looking around and trying to open every door! lol
But it's good to have the game footage in vids, especially since most of the people who post vids of this game fill it with stupid jokes and audio coments thinking they are funny, but just ruin the video.
I thought the monsters were meant to symbolize something in the subconscience the characters in the game. I understand the fear of hospitals and nurses, but what do the other monsters represent?

WTF?! How dare they call this Silent Hill?! What is this madness?
I think they used a soldier because ever since SH1, the monsters and environment of Silent Hill are stemmed from the subconscious of the main character.
Because Alex is a soldier, he's gonna have a screwy thus making a screwy Silent Hill.
Though, I will admit, I don't think the nurses symbolize much, they don't move as painful but I think this still is worthy being a Silent Hill game.
I wouldn't think of it as a Silent Hill game because it has too much action that wasen't needed and you never had feeling for the atmosphere and it's suppose to be scary...they think through you with pop-out monsters'll get you jumping, but the atmosphere is to always make you feel unsafe and seeing demented creatures in those places like in the hell world it would make it more frightening.
I think Alex is a badass character and all, but he just doesn't belong in Silent Hill.
Anyway, when you put it that way, I see what you mean (though the pop-up monsters do scare the crap outta me). I think this one focuses on the environment being kinda nostalgic rather than creepy and the monsters are just annoying because they keep popping out of nowhere.

Yeah, I thought it sucked at first too, then heard about the backround and was surprised. Although predictable in Josh's case, this SH truly matches up to the others in storyline :D (atleast SH3)
Doesn't win me over otherwise. It doesn't look, feel, or have heart like the Silent Hills that came before it. Once these guys took it over it was all bullshitted with only weak and brief fragments of what they perserve in the storyline behind the characters and the main protagonist. It didn't work.
Of course Silent Hill makes you think about things on your own, but it does it at a length where the mystery doesn't leave you completely in the dark. To me this game left me empty handed...

Well, in my opinion it was very good. The only problem I had was that it seemed to borrow too many things from the previous games in the series. But overall I loved it. I got the Boogeyman ending.

360's graphics are not better than the PS3's. 360's Graphics Card is ment to have things look more glossy. Whereas PS3's has Metalic Colors and Black show up better.
americathefat101 has a point. The 360s graphics (and the 360 itself) are awesome, but the physic depends on the engine the programmers use. Each one does something that adds more realism and what not.
I know that, it just depends on which console is better at holding up to the graphics (No glitches, freezes and other things). Also, the 360's strong point is the games coming out soon, and the online gaming.
umm... the consel makes a small difference the ps3 has more powerful processors. which means it has a bigger 3D imiging card which makes this game scare the crap outta me

Well, in my opinion it was very good. The only problem I had was that it seemed to borrow too many things from the previous games in the series. But overall I loved it. I got the Boogeyman ending.

No. Get your facts straight.
360's graphics are not better than the PS3's. 360's Graphics Card is ment to have things look more glossy. Whereas PS3's has Metalic Colors and Black show up better.

americathefat101 has a point. The 360s graphics (and the 360 itself) are awesome, but the physic depends on the engine the programmers use. Each one does something that adds more realism and what not.

I know that, it just depends on which console is better at holding up to the graphics (No glitches, freezes and other things). Also, the 360's strong point is the games coming out soon, and the online gaming.

umm... the consel makes a small difference the ps3 has more powerful processors. which means it has a bigger 3D imiging card which makes this game scare the crap outta me
