@electroskgmail Try re-seating the RAM. Also, make sure that you used compatible RAM. If that doesn't work, see if it's even POSTing to the screen. Try a bootable live OS.
how much RAM did u had?? if u had 2GB was it in 1GB-1GB or in one 2GB? My Gf has 4710s and i want to upgrade it. It only has 2GB RAM. I want to put in 2GB more. But i dont know...will i get 3 or 4 GB?? Comment back pls! Thanks
Trying to do this with a 4415s. Memory chip needs replacing in less than a year of use. The bottom screws are almost impossible to get out, and the whole procedure is just ridiculously difficult. Had three Dells that I was able to add memory chips to without the difficulty in opening the laptops, like this hp. Will likely be avoiding hp in the future.
Regardless of a electronics ability to take the occasional bump I like how gentle you are with the device. I would expect no less from a professional states side. Only thing is I would like to see a Antistatic wrist strap or rubber gloves for my system.
@meronzaxoly you have to open up the whole laptop to access the bios chip battery, remove that for 10 secs, then replace and there you go, default bios. :) hope this helps.
HP makes this upgrade harder than the G series. Why not just have the trap door for ram on the bottom of the unit - no need to remove the keyboard to add a stick. bummer. This video was very helpful, quick and accurate. I would leave the keyboard plugged in when adding the ram stick. Just be careful of the ribbon cable.
wth??? u broke my laptop!!
